How To Actually Quit Porn (no bs)

Samir Gardner argues that willpower and lifestyle changes fail because they ignore the subconscious beliefs that make porn feel necessary. He debunks the dopamine myth and offers a visualization exercise to shift those beliefs, making quitting a simple choice rather than a battle.

This is how you actually quit porn, okay? And this is not going to be any bullshit of like, oh, just have better habits or just change your life. Instead, we're going to completely debunk why these techniques never work and what you can actually do, okay? So first, let me explain. Many people, what they're caught up in is the conscious. What I mean by conscious is that they're actively trying to do something, right? And they're actively just like trying to fight something, okay? Now look, we can talk about the conscious mind, but this is just like, yeah, you can say it's a conscious mind, but I don't care, right? Just to consciously trying to do something about it, okay? They use willpower, they use discipline, they use, you know, they try to say, oh, it's because of trauma, so let me just heal my trauma. But obviously they never do, and healing trauma won't do anything, trust me, okay? They try to keep themselves busy, I try to improve your life, uh, changing their habits, their lifestyle, going to the gym a bit more, a few times a week, a bit more, you know, uh, reducing it like consistently. And it's like, look, does it work? Yeah, for a few days. I mean, it works for me for like 3 to 4 months at times, but then what? I will go back to porn, right? And I realized I was just completely lost when it comes to quitting porn. I was just like fed lies basically. The NoFap space is so good at just spreading these lies about like, oh, you need to quit porn by giving you, by basically bullshit, right? They just basically tell you all of those things. Tell you, oh, just use discipline. Oh yeah, I mean, it's gonna take a lot of time, man. You've been addicted for so long. And what I say is bullshit. Don't even listen to a single percent of the NoFap advice and instead just really go for the subconscious, which we're gonna talk about. But look, okay, Why these techniques don't work is because, look, if you— first of all, okay, just let's just use logic for a second, okay? Why do you have willpower, discipline for like every areas of your life? You go to the gym, you eat healthy, you do all of those good habits, but then for porn you don't? And the thing is, with porn, it's not even a question of, um, of doing something like going to the gym, which, you know, requires you to fight against gravity Right, you need more power for that. I mean, it requires you to go through physical pain, right? That requires, you know, a lot. It requires effort, right? You need to go out of your own house, comfortable house, and go to the gym, right? And you need to do something which will literally require you to, you know, lose energy, all of those things, right? I mean, use energy and all of those things. Well, you know, with porn, it's just the act of not watching it. In order to become quote unquote successful in that regard. It's just, you don't need, just don't watch it, right? It's the same as if like I tell you, you know, don't go to the gym. Easy, easiest thing in the world, right? Like, yeah, you might feel like you want to go to the gym, but it's gonna be easy, right? The thing is, it's the same thing, okay? Now healing trauma, okay? Healing trauma, like, look, let's be honest. There's statistics that shows that there's no clear connection between those two things and 60% of people who literally had an addiction to substances, I'm talking about like drugs, alcohol addiction, 60% of them didn't have trauma, didn't have a horrible past, didn't have like any form of mental disorders. And the other 40% did. So only 40% of people who had an addiction to substances such as alcohol, you know, drugs, cigarettes, whatever, all of those things, had trauma. There isn't very, very, good to know because like the thing is, even if you heal trauma, the problem is not your life. The problem is not your lack of purpose. Those things can be a motivating factor behind quitting, okay? But they're not gonna be making you quit, okay? Because the truth is, okay, look, if you wanna keep yourself busy, for example, bro, you can literally not keep yourself busy for the rest of your life. Like how can you be busy 24/7? There's gonna be times where you're not busy. So you're telling me you're gonna go back to porn? It doesn't make sense because not everyone is busy 24/7, not every single human on earth, and not every single human on earth, you know, watches porn also. So look, you know, it's not everyone that is not busy that watches porn. Like obviously, like it's just logic, right? Improving your life. Look, the reality is you don't watch porn because of, for example, the fact that you don't have a girlfriend or that you're you're not in a relationship or that your life sucks. It's more so because you believe that porn is a kind of like medication to those problems in your life, okay? And this is what we're gonna tackle because the truth is everyone faces problems, everyone has down times, but not everyone craves porn when they feel down, right? Not everyone craves masturbation when they feel down. So that's what we need to understand or reducing, okay? You want to reduce something, but like, why would you? Like, it's kind of, you know, hard to understand because like, why is porn a battle? Like, you literally— it's just you against you, right? I mean, it's not even you against— it's just you, right? You choose to watch porn. So it's like, why would you fight and try to reduce it as much as possible when it's just you? Like, okay, you want to reduce it, then you choose to reduce it. But like, most people act like as if reducing is literally the only way to do it, because, you know, if you go cold turkey, you'll, you'll, you'll have withdrawals and it will be hard and you'll have urges, which is total bullshit, okay? If you want to quit cold turkey, if you want to, you know, reduce it, both are as easily done, okay? But the thing is, you don't know about this, so that's why it might be hard at first, okay, to quit cold turkey, okay? And, you know, a big lie in the no-fap space is to tell you like, no, you cannot quit overnight, man. I've seen so many people that don't know that porn is addiction, that don't— that obviously they consume porn, but then they don't know that porn is addiction. They don't know that the concept of urges and withdrawals and, and pleasure and dopamine, they don't know any of those concepts. They just think, oh, watching porn is a normal habit, I watch it every day, and boom, the moment they decided, you know what, I want to live a better life, I don't want— porn is not a part of that, never went back to porn. I know so many people, but obviously we don't see those people because they won't be like under NoFap videos or NoFap communities if they left porn, right? Why would you watch a video on how to quit porn when you quit it, right? So that's what you need to understand. Now look, the reality is you need to go to the subconscious, and the subconscious is a different set of things, okay? So there's the beliefs, and there's the perspective, there's the paradigms, there's the desires, and there's the drivers, okay? And there's other things which, you know, wouldn't really be relevant because you won't understand it if I explain it right now. Look, the beliefs, okay? Let me give you a very simple example. If you believe that porn and masturbation will, for example, give you prostate cancer, if you don't, let's say that you believe that if you don't masturbate, you'll get prostate cancer. Then the truth is, how can you stop masturbating if you don't want to have prostate cancer? 'Cause obviously, I'm pretty sure 99% of people don't wanna have prostate cancer. It's painful, whatever, right? So why would you stop masturbating if you believe that it's gonna stop the prostate cancer? Whilst people might believe that, you know, oh, consciously, you know, porn, I mean, masturbation doesn't have a connection with prostate cancer, the truth is people still believe in it unconsciously because they've been told that it came from experts and scientific evidence. So it's like almost hard to break that belief. You can deny it, but you might believe it still unconsciously or subconsciously, okay? So we need to change those beliefs. Oh, okay, or let's say perspective, for example, or let's just take all of them, right? Besides desires and drivers, if we take beliefs, perspective, paradigms, which are pretty similar, we understand that, okay, you believe maybe, or you perceive porn to be something that is very pleasurable, that gives a lot of dopamine. Now the thing is, and that's the key thing, okay? It's the equivalent of believing that Santa Claus exists. Let me explain. If you believe deeply that, for example, that porn is going to give you dopamine just because some random YouTuber told you that when you stop watching porn, uh, you'll feel like a craving of dopamine, and they'll explain with some wishy-washy dopamine theory. Now the thing is, because you just like believe, um, that porn is going to give dopamine, you're going to get dopamine, okay? It's a belief, okay? Because look, if I believe that Santa Claus is real, right? And that the only way for me to get my gifts at Christmas is to put milk and cookies under, I mean, on the table, right? And that he's gonna come through the chimney, but I need to sleep because if I see him, then like it's not gonna work, whatever, right? Then obviously I'm gonna go and prepare the cookies and the milk and the chimney if I want to have the gifts, right? Like I'm gonna be, I mean, sleeping and just like feeling excited, right? But the moment I realized that, oh, this is just false, right? I'm not gonna have to prepare the cookies anymore. I'm not gonna have to prepare the milk anymore. I'm not gonna be excited, just be like, oh my God, Santa Claus is coming through the chimney. And I'm just gonna be like, oh, okay, we're actually talking. It's not, okay, let me just tie it back. It's not porn giving me dopamine. It's something else. What is that something else? Okay, let me just give you some very good game that I explained this to my current clients, right? I mean, to all of my clients basically, Dopamine is the act— okay, I'll make a video to debunk dopamine, but dopamine is anticipation in order to get a specific reward. Okay, so dopamine is not released because of the pixels that you see on the screen with a video of two people having sex. That's not why dopamine is released, right? It's, you know, it's rather— it's released in the anticipation, meaning that, you know, for example, when you're about to— let's say you're on together, right, and you see food in front of you and you've been hungry for like for example, and you see like a deer in front of you, right, that you can kill, you're gonna release dopamine to feel, for anticipation, to feel motivated to kill that animal so that you can get the reward of satisfying your hunger and getting food for the whole tribe, okay? That's what dopamine is released for. Now the thing is that dopamine can be released for a reward, but for example, let's say that the deer, for example, was a fake deer. And just the hunter-gatherer thought it was a deer, it would still release the dopamine, okay? It would actually still release the dopamine because of his perception, not because of the deer itself, okay? But because of his perception. Now look, that means that you can literally release dopamine from your own mind like a placebo. And that's exactly what people have the biggest problem with is that they just have false perceptions. They have false paradigms. They think that porn gives them so much dopamine Whilst in reality, dopamine is released by your mind. And because it is released by your mind, the thing is you literally cannot release dopamine with porn. You cannot release dopamine, like if I watch, for example, that whiteboard, I'm not gonna release dopamine. But if I start, for example, visualizing something that I perceive to be a reward, for example, being in a relationship with the opposite sex, then I'm gonna get a rush of dopamine because I'm thinking, right? I'm perceiving that, oh, you know, this is a woman, and because it's like, it feels so real when it's in the mind, because you literally, the mind is you, right? Like you're literally imagining something and you feel like it's real. So you're gonna get a release of dopamine because you're gonna be like, oh yeah, that, you feel almost as if like the girl's in front of you, right? That's how people, for example, they visualize something, like athletes, business owners, entrepreneurs, like they visualize something and they feel motivated by it. They feel like a rush inside of them of like, yeah, I'm gonna go and get this and they get like this motivation. It's just that they release dopamine because they visualize the thing they want to achieve, the reward they want to have, right? Same exact thing. Just do the exercise right now. Just think of like you, just think of you, for example, getting like the most, like the thing that you want the most, okay? And just focus on the feeling it's gonna give you. Now boom, you're gonna get like a rush of dopamine, okay? The same as if you were to watch porn. And to prove this further, you get a rush of dopamine the moment you decide to watch porn, not whilst you watch porn. Whilst you watch porn, you don't, sometimes you feel like kind of like bad about it and it's not even that pleasurable, but it's before you watch porn, you're like, you know what, I can go and watch porn. That's when you get the rush of dopamine or even the pleasure, okay? So that's the kind of like beliefs, paradigms, and perspective that we need to tackle. Because if we don't tackle them, the subconscious in reality is 90 to 95% of your mind whilst the conscious is only 5 to 10% of your mind. So once you tackle those things, you just basically, you just realize, okay, and this is the biggest realization, okay, let me just write it here. The biggest realization you're gonna make, which is gonna basically set you free forever from porn, masturbation, and all of those things, is that, okay, and you know, you might not believe me, but porn, isn't a battle. And once you realize that porn isn't a battle, and that if you believe that it's a battle, what's gonna happen is you're gonna fight nothing. You're gonna fight— it's like the, the biggest problem we have is that we believe that porn is an addiction. And because we believe in the concept of addiction, which we obviously know nothing of besides what experts Samir Gardner gave us, when you fight something called addiction, which is nonexistent, you can only end up hurting yourself. Like, you can only hurt yourself if you're fighting something that doesn't exist, right? So porn is not a battle, but rather it's a choice you consciously make based on your paradigms, beliefs, perspectives, desires, okay? And once you understand that, you understand that you're just making a choice. You're just making a choice, just as if like, for example, if there's a steak in front of me, let's say you cook a 5-star steak every day for me, right? I'm gonna consciously make the choice to eat it, right? But for some other people, steak might not be it, right? A vegan might think like, no, this is disgusting, and not even eat it. Boom, like it's that simple, right? He's not gonna eat it. He's gonna make the conscious choice to not eat it, okay? So we need to tackle the subconscious so that the conscious action becomes easy. Just really internalize this, guys. And if you wanna be coached by me one-on-one so that you can speed up that process and quit forever, then go down in the first link in the description and book a call with me. I'll see you soon. See you guys.
