How To Enjoy Eating Healthy

In this informal YouTube monologue, Samir Gardner encourages viewers to enjoy healthy eating by first learning to cook, a skill he describes as simple and accessible through online tutorials. He argues that cooking at home eliminates the need for cheat meals because homemade dishes can be both tasty and satisfying, especially when enhanced with herbs, spices, and healthy oils. Gardner advises a mindset shift: view food as a tool rather than a master, and suggests trying a one‑day fast to experience life without constant eating. He provides a detailed list of versatile, health‑promoting ingredients—coconut, various plant‑based milks, raisins, dates, a range of herbs and spices, olive or coconut oil, and nut/seed butters—explaining how each can boost flavor and nutrition. He then outlines numerous easy, budget‑friendly recipe ideas, including oatmeal variations, pasta, smoothie bowls, minimalist pancakes, energy balls, avocado toast, vegan pizza on tortillas, sushi (including quinoa or black‑rice versions), oatmeal cookies, and burritos, emphasizing quick preparation, YouTube as a learning resource, and the joy of cooking despite occasional time demands. The video concludes with a promotional call for free one‑on‑one consultations.

What's good, y'all? It's your boy Samir Gardner. Hope y'all doing good. So I'm gonna tell y'all how to eat healthy while enjoying eating healthy, basically how to enjoy healthy foods and everything. So first of all, you gotta learn one thing, okay? And I know a lot of people think they cannot do it, they think, uh, it's not for them and everything, but bro, you gotta learn how to cook. And it's so easy, I swear, it's so easy. Learning how to cook, bro, I said in my past videos, you go on YouTube, you watch someone, you want, you want to eat, let's say, lentils, you watch someone do a recipe, you have all the ingredients, you just follow what he does. That's all you do, bro. You don't need no skills, you don't need nothing. And you know, you might fail like in the beginning, but then after, it's like a skill. I think it's a useful skill to learn. You know, learning how to cook. Like, because what I see is people always want to have a cheat meal and everything. Personally, I don't want to be like, oh, I don't have cheat meals and everything, but bro, I don't think about cheat meals in my— I swear I don't think about cheat meals because the meals I cook, like, they taste so good. I mean, it's not that they taste so, so good like junk food and everything, but I mean, like, it tastes good to the point where, like, I'm full and I don't want to eat this junk food. I don't want to go eat this ice cream and everything. I want to, you know, eat what I make on my own. And, you know, most of the time people eat things like plain rice, but they just eat rice with like chicken and, you know, broccoli. Don't put no seasoning, don't put nothing on it. And then, I mean, I know why you get bored eating this because, you know, it's so plain. You know, um, if you enjoy eating like this, then that's on you. But I think you can make a healthy— you know, if let's say you eat rice, chicken, and broccoli, you can eat a healthy— I mean, not— you can add some things on top of it while making it healthy, like, you know, maybe some herbs, maybe some spices, maybe some oils. But you know, that's on you. So I will say like, bro, Also try to detach your attachment to food, okay? Try to see food as, don't see food as your master, but see it as your tool, okay? See food as, see food, see the food as your tool, not your master, okay? Don't get manipulated by food. So, you know, I think people gotta try once in their life, just once in their life, okay? Just try to do a fast for one day, just once, okay? Just at least once, try fasting for one day so you can really see what it feels like not eating. You can really feel like, okay, I don't have food, I can still live and everything. Like, bro, you're good, you're gonna— it's like a great experience. Just fast one day, just try one day, maybe on a rest day or something. Just try, okay? So what are the ingredients that can make your recipes more tasty and healthy at the same time. So, okay, I have coconut. Coconut, I can add it on top of my smoothies. I put it in my smoothies. It tastes very good. Coconut, dry coconut, or any type of coconut. Uh, plant-based milk. Plant-based milk is definitely something you can easily make on your own. I made a video about it. Uh, I think also you can just buy at the store like almond milk, almond milk, there's sunflower milk, there's Amp milk, there's coconut milk. Like, they taste so good. Oat milk. Like, they taste so good. And you can add them, like, instead of just eating plain oatmeal with just cinnamon or something, had— instead of putting water, put the milk, and it's gonna taste way better. It's gonna be more calorie dense, and it's gonna be just better. Now I got the list right there. Uh, raisins. Okay, raisins is definitely Maybe very high in carbs, but make sure you buy raisins that are not, you know, they don't add sugar on top of it. So because, um, raisins already taste, uh, sweet. So raisins, you can't add them to your oatmeal, can't add them to your smoothie bowls, you can't add them anywhere, uh, that's pretty much sweet. Uh, also dates, bro. Dates is my favorite sweetener. I mean, it's my only sweetener I use, to be honest. I don't use any syrup or anything. Uh, because dates is one of my favorite food at the same time. So dates tastes very, very sweet and it has a lot of benefits. You can add it to your oatmeal, you can add it to your— well, you can add it to like everywhere, I swear. Let me look. Like you want to make, uh, I don't know, anything, bro, you can add dates anywhere. Another thing would be herbs and spices, okay. A list of the herbs: thyme, oregano, uh, dill, um, basil. What else? I don't know them by heart, but, uh, you know, there's a lot of herbs that are gonna make your recipes more tasty and healthy at the same time because it's still herbs, it's dry herbs. Uh, and for the spices, bro, the spices for me, my favorites are cayenne powder. Bro, cayenne powder is I mean, if you want something that's hot and everything, um, curry powder. Curry powder for your lentils and everything. Or you can make any— like, curry powder is underrated. Uh, turmeric, uh, you know, salt and pepper if you want, uh, paprika, cumin, uh, ginger, bro, like cinnamon, bro. All these spices and herbs are gonna make your, you know, your recipe way more tasty and at the same time way more healthy because, you know, it's still some spices and herbs. It's not something— it's not a processed thing or anything. It's just some spices and herbs in the powder form, or maybe not even a powder form. So that's going to be one of your go-to things if you want to make your any recipes more healthy. Um, olive oil or any type of healthy oils, I would recommend. I mean The only oils I use is coconut and olive. That's the only oils I use. So I would, you know, if you cook vegetables, add some olive oil, it's gonna taste way better. Olive oil with salt or something, just a bit of salt, it's gonna taste so, so good. I swear your vegetables are gonna taste so good. Put some, if you wanna eat potatoes, one of my go-to meals like a year ago was like, and I didn't know how to cook at that time, was like, okay, I just chopped up some potatoes with some vegetables like mushrooms, peppers, zucchini and everything. And, you know, I just, you know, I just put them in a pan and made them, you know, cooked. I added some olive oil and I left some salt, I think, and I think it was just salt and pepper or something. And bro, it was like my favorite recipe. Like, olive oil is gonna be make your recipe way more healthy. For coconut oil, you can use it to cook your things more like pancakes, or, you know, not the traditional pancakes, but the pancakes you make on your own and everything. Uh, okay, the last ingredient will be nuts and seeds butter. Um, personally, the only butter type of vegan butter I use is sunflower butter and Tahini. I mean, I make my own, but I never tasted any sort of peanut butter or almond butter because I'm allergic. But you know, these things are— I mean, it tastes very good. Plus it's, it's like, it adds calorie on top of it. Like if you want to gain healthy weight, that's one of the go-to. Okay, now for the tasty meals, you know, I said oatmeal, but To be honest, oatmeal can be good, can be, it can be like tasting very bad, but at the same time can be tasting very good. You know, you can add cinnamon, you can add some fruits like apples and everything, you can add some nuts and seeds, seeds butter, you can add, um, what else, like, well, anything, plant-based milk, you can, you can add anything. And oatmeal can be very good, any sweetener like dates, or maybe people do agave or something, but I mean, that's on you. Another recipe will be, I mean, pasta. Pasta are very easy to make. You just gotta, bro, it's easy. Just go on YouTube and search. It's one of the easiest recipes to make. If you wanna learn how to cook, I think pasta's a great way to start. Smoothie bowls, bro. Smoothie bowls, I swear this, smoothie bowls is probably one of my favorite meals. Because I mean, you know, it's just, it's so packed with healthy ingredients that taste good. You know, you put the bananas, you put the strawberries, you put the blueberries, you put the dates if you want to, you put, you put the seeds and everything. You put the pumpkin seeds on top of it, you put some, some seeds or nut butter on top of it, uh, coconut, fruits, anything, bro. And I swear it tastes so good. Fruits taste so good in general. So if you eat a smoothie bowl You're gonna realize like, bro, it tastes so good. Like, you might start craving it, like I swear. Another thing will be pancakes, but pancakes, I would try to make pancakes with as little ingredients as you can because, bro, every time I eat pancakes, I get so full, okay? Because there's a lot, like for example, you use oats. Like, you're used to eat like 1 cup of oats, let's say. But then you put like 2 cups of oats to make like 2 to 3 pancakes, and then you try to eat those 2 to 3 pancakes, and you're gonna be so full. Like, I swear. You know, energy balls? Energy balls are like, pretty much you just put some ingredients and you just blend it, and it takes like 5 seconds to make. You put some dates, you put some seeds, you put some, like, it's most of the time it's like dried fruits with seeds or I don't know, no, most of the time it's nuts and like with dates, seeds, anything, nut butter. Like you can make, I'm gonna make maybe a video on this because there's a very, very good recipe. It's like sesame seeds or tahini with dates and you know, it tastes so good, plus it's nutritious. It's a great snack for, you know, if you're running or working out and everything. So another thing would be avocado toast. Personally, I don't eat too much of this, but I used to eat it like a lot, but because I love avocado, well, just avocado toast with— had some— you can add any spices or, or anything on top of it, and it's done in like 2 minutes. Well, it takes 2 minutes to make, and it's nutritious and everything. Avocado is very, very, very good. Um, I would say vegan homemade pizza. That might be a little harder, but still it's gonna be easy if you just buy tortillas. And you know, this recipe tastes good also. Like, you just gotta know which spices. Just look up which spices to put on a pizza, or else it's just gonna taste like vegetables with flour. But you know, you gotta make your own. Another thing will be sushi. Sushi's are like, the ingredients are easy to make and everything, you know, it's easy to cook, but When it comes to rolling the sushi, it might be a little harder, but sushi you can make your own and it's gonna cost way less than going to another shop or something. But sushi tastes definitely great. You can make rice sushi, you can make quinoa sushi, you can make, I don't know what else, but you know, I love quinoa sushi, maybe black rice sushi or something, but that's on you. Oatmeal cookies, oatmeal cookies, it's like 5 ingredients or less. You literally put just some oats with butter and coconut with like anything, bro, just— and then you just make like, uh, balls with it. Like, not, not balls, but you make— I mean, you just pretty much make the cookie in your hand and then you put it on the stove and let it, um, you know, you just let it cook for like 30 minutes, maybe 1 hour, I don't remember, but it It's like, it tastes great. Just put some raisins or dates if you wanna make it more sweet. Last meal would be burritos. And burritos, I mean, you just gotta have some beans, some tortillas, some avocado, some tomato sauce, or some vegetables. And it's one of those things that tastes great also. Like, you probably love burritos. And you know, most of the time for all these recipes, bro, Or any recipes that you used to eat in the past, you can find a healthy version on YouTube, I swear. You can look up T-Wars Conscious Kitchen, you can look up anyone, you can just type in the recipe and you'll find it and it's gonna be, you know, you can type, okay, 10-minute recipe or something, so it's not gonna take too much, 'cause I understand like cooking might take a lot of time. Sometimes I spend like 3 hours in the kitchen Like, bro, I'm like, not maybe not 3 hours, but at least 1 hour or 2, okay? And bro, and just, it's like, it's time consuming, but you know, it's fun at the same time to make your own recipes, you know? So yeah, that would be it for the vid. Uh, don't forget to check my, check out my, my one-on-one consultations right now. I'm doing it for free. So yeah, that's it for the vid.
