How To Reduce Stress Naturally

In this informal, first‑person video Samir Gardner shares a step‑by‑step, self‑help blueprint for reducing stress without medication or therapy. He begins by urging a "dopamine detox"—cutting back on mindless scrolling on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other platforms, even suggesting short periods without a phone to reclaim time and improve mindfulness. He then expands the detox idea to a broader elimination of counter‑productive activities such as constant email checking, comment responding, and analytics monitoring, arguing that these low‑value tasks steal time that could be spent on high‑impact work. Gardner introduces the concept of deep work, claiming that one focused hour can replace several hours of shallow, distracted effort. He stresses the importance of spending reclaimed time in nature, describing how being outdoors restores a sense of connection and calm. He advises cutting out news consumption, labeling it a source of unnecessary fear and distraction. Breathing exercises—specifically the Wim Hof method—are presented as a powerful tool that creates a steady, calm state even under pressure. Nutrition is addressed next: reducing sugar and processed foods, and using intermittent fasting to stabilize mood. Consistent mindfulness practice—paying attention to breath, sensations, and the present moment—is recommended to prevent stress from arising in the mind. Finally, Gardner encourages deliberately confronting personal fears (e.g., calling someone, riding a roller coaster) to build confidence and dissolve stress. Throughout, he mixes personal anecdotes, the 80/20 productivity principle, and a motivational, street‑wise tone, ending with a call to like, comment, and subscribe.

What's good, y'all? It's your boy Samir Gardner. Hope y'all doing good. So bro, how to deal with stress naturally. And now I'm gonna give y'all like a lot of tips, so grab your notebook, like grab anything so you can like write down notes and everything. Because, bro, I got like a lot of things to say. Like, I got a lot of tips. I got like— because to be honest, like, nowadays, bro, I be a story. Like, like, I want to teach y'all like how to be not stressful, especially like, um, related to like time and just like always feeling like pressured and everything, bro. I'm gonna give you like the whole blueprint to like ending stress, to be honest. So like I got like some notes. Okay, so first of all, bro, a dopamine detox. Now the thing is, like, we got like— people gotta eliminate all the like the scrolling on IG, the scrolling on like TikTok, the scrolling on Facebook, the, you know, scrolling on YouTube even, like, or just be on your computer searching things and everything. We gotta start eliminating that. Like, we gotta start being more like outside the nifting. Because dopamine detox, bro, you're gonna be left with so much time. Just go without your phone for like 3 days, bro. You'll see like you're gonna have so much time, you're gonna feel bored. And now you're, you're gonna be like, you're gonna be like, oh, it's only 10 AM and I've done all those things. You— because you're gonna have so much time. People don't realize when you mindlessly scroll, bro, you waste so much time, bro. The days, the day go by so fast. For example, When I was playing video games, I was playing GTA, and bro, I was playing from morning to night, and bro, it felt like the day was like 2 hours, to be honest. Like, the day went by so fast. I remember start playing and then it was like dark outside. I was like, what? So bro, dopamine detox, plus like you're gonna be more mindful too because you're not gonna have distractions like mindlessly scrolling with like autopilot thoughts and everything. So dopamine detox is underrated, but what I recommend with people is sort of like a monk mode or like sort of like intermittent fasting before dopamine, which is like instead of like, you know, fasting for 7 days, instead of fasting like every day for 16 hours, that's what we wanna do. You wanna do like we're fasting every day for 16 hours. So we just reduce the technology not for 1 day, but for like, for like the rest of your life pretty much, but don't reduce, reduce it too much. We just reduce it, we don't eliminate it. So dopamine detox, it will give you so much free time. You're gonna be more in nature, you're gonna be more outside, which is what all helps with stress. Like you're gonna have so much free time, that's the whole point. The second tip will be to eliminate like all the counterproductive activities and That might be controversial, but that's like things like checking emails, scrolling— not scrolling, but responding to comments, you know, looking like at your analytics or something, you know, doing all the things that are not productive. They're not productive. You think checking emails is productive, but you spend like 4 hours. In 4 hours you could have made like 4 YouTube videos. You see what I mean? Like, you gotta eliminate the counterproductive activities because Once you eliminate them, you're going to be left with so much free time, bro. You're going to be left with so much free time because most of the time you have free time, so you're like, oh, let me be productive so you don't feel guilty of not doing anything. Most people are not like used to not doing anything. We like, we go from doing nothing to be like so productive, and then we got to go back to like, okay, I gotta do what, like, I gotta do sort of like deep work. I gotta do what's important for my brain. I don't have to do these things like emails and responding to comments, or like, what would I say, like, say, like, searching stuff on the internet, you know, because it's not even productive. It's not even your main goal. Like, yeah, it helps with your goal, but it's not— it's like the 80/20, bro. Like, the 20% of what you do gives like 80% of the results, right? For example, me, it's recording videos that gives— like, it's the 20% that gives the 80%. It's not searching stuff on the internet. It's not responding to emails. It's not responding to comments. It's not liking comments. That's not, yeah, you can do that, but that's after. You do this after. You don't do this like when you have free time to be productive. You need more free time, but you're gonna feel, you're probably gonna feel guilty that you're gonna have free time and you're not gonna do anything. So that's why you gotta do things like going in nature, you know, maybe playing board games. Like, you know, on the dopamine detox, it's gonna be like, You're gonna have fun going in nature. You're gonna have fun playing basketball. Yeah, it might not be sort of like quote unquote productive, but doing those things like emails is not even productive. So why not just work what you gotta do, like DP, I'm gonna talk about DP, but work and then you got free time so you can do more like sort of like self-help activities and then you're gonna be feeling better. Your business is gonna be better because you're gonna be feeling better. And you're gonna enjoy life way more. But the thing is, like, you gotta stop, like, being sort of, like, guilty of not doing anything, because I think it's just, like, a sort of, like, belief that society gave you. It's like, oh, you're not doing anything in class, so, well, you're not productive, you're trolling around. Like, bro, I have, like, some free time too. Like, you can do anything in your free time, but don't go on your phone, don't go swimming on emails because that's not even productive. Like, people think, oh, let me watch this YouTube video so I can be inspired and, uh, you know, make a video about that. Like, bro, it's not, it's not how it works. It's not yet. But like, you can do that still, but do it like after. Do it like at the end of the day. That's what you gotta do. Okay, now fourth tip: Deep Work. Now Deep Work, bro, it's been like, like a life changer for me. I have so much free time since I've eliminated my, all my like sort of like counterproductive activities on dopamine detox, uh, deep work. But deep work, look, you just work one hour, like one hour a day barely. I work one hour a day, but I do more than when I was working like 8 hours a day. I remember, bro, I was like, let me be productive, and I was watching like YouTube videos for branding and everything for like 8 hours. But I didn't even gain anything. I could have done more in 30 minutes. Literally, I gained— you can do 1 hour of work, 1 hour of deep work is like 4 hours of shallow work. That's how I feel. And shallow work doesn't like— shallow work is the things like you do distracted. Now you want to do deep work not distracted. You want to do 1 hour where you're not distracted, just in a flow state, just really focus on what you're doing. Me right now, I'm focused on making this video, scripting those videos. That's what I do. And then I have free time, I go read and everything. So if instead I was like, oh, let me go on my phone, check this on internet, or do this and that while I was sort of like scripting and everything, it will took me like 4 hours. It will took me 4 hours just to make this one video. What I did instead was like no distractions, just concentration music, And I was just thinking, I was just thinking, oh, how can I help people with stress? Like, what are the tips that like gave me sort of like this sense of peace and like calmness and that made me feel not stressed? That's how I came up with the video. I just think, I just think many people don't think because it's like they don't got an attention span. You gotta have attention span. With dopamine detox, it's gonna help a lot. You gotta stop. Like, you got— you gotta start doing deep work. You gotta be— yeah, people, if you want to do still like 8 hours a day, but do deep work. Now, other things, like more on like the sort of like spiritual side, you can say— not, not really, but like more on the like psychology. I don't know, bro. But look, nature. I go in nature, bro. Nature. Like, bro, I've been going in nature recently, and with the dopamine detox, I feel like connected. I actually feel like connected. You know when people say they feel connected like to the earth, to nature and everything with the birds? That's how I feel now. I swear to God, like I go in nature, I hear the birds, like everything's so calm, everything is at peace, bro. But no one is doing that like except for kids nowadays or maybe old people because these people got an attention spam. So because they don't have like their cell phone and everything We just gotta like— it's sad that like we just so— we lost this connection, bro. We lost this connection. We're not like— people are not human no more. Like, people are not human. They don't even want to go in nature. That's where they came from. They just want to stay in their house, and that's making them stressed, that's making them depressed, that's making them anxious and everything. Nature, bro, nature will treat you good. Just go on a dopamine detox so you can enjoy nature. Because I didn't really like to go in nature, I was just like dragging myself to the forest and everything. But now, like, I actually want to go to nature. I want to go to nature, just walk and sense like this sort of like peace from nature, like the birds, like the trees. It's like there's nothing, there's no distraction in nature, it's just peace, bro. It's mine. Now the second one, and I don't— I really don't care, bro. Cut out the news, bro. Cut out the news. That's like— I don't, I don't care if you want to be like this sort of like citizen where you're like, oh, you know what's going on in the world and everything, bro. You can't even change it. But, bro, it's all fear, bro. I know a lot of people say this, it might sound cringe, but it's actually fear, bro. Most of the time, bro, it's fake stories. Like, stories feel like they're made up. I'm not gonna say they're fake or anything, but it feels like they're fake. And I remember, bro, I was— I'm not gonna say like why or anything, but sometimes, bro, I was feeling so stressed because someone in my family told me like, Oh, this happened to this guy. And, you know, like, I'm gonna give the example, okay? He said, someone said that to me, like, oh, this guy got sick from this and he was like an athlete, was eating healthy and everything, and he still got sick and he lost all his muscle because he was so sick from this stuff. And so, but I was so scared of being sick of this, of this thing. I was so scared. I was like, I was just, I was like, oh no, no, I don't want to cut this. I don't like Literally, bro, that's— you're creating fake stress for yourself. Fear doesn't even exist. Like, I don't even understand why people still watch the news, to be honest, because first of all, you're wasting your time on technology. Like, you're just watching some random bullcrap. Like, and like, what— like, what's the point of watching the news, bro? Like, I'm not trying— I'm not gonna roast the news. I think I'm just gonna pass, but What's the point of watching the news, to be honest? What's the point? Like, I want to live like a baby that has no fears, bro. I want to live like a baby that has no fears. No fears of going up to someone, no fears of, uh, doing like, I don't know, like some crazy— like, not, not crazy, but like some, some things like most people are scared of. I want to be like this, you know. A baby doesn't fear. A baby doesn't— a baby is not programmed yet, but a baby— so a baby is like You can put his hand on fire, he won't do it. Like, he doesn't even know. He doesn't even know that it might burn him. You want to live like this but still have like this critical sort of like thinking. Now, uh, the third thing on this sort of list, um, do breathing exercise. Breathing exercise, bro. Oh, for stress, it's been like, I'll say, like the most important. Like, literally, it has like had the most, uh effect on me. Now what you gotta understand is it feels like you're smoking weed. I never smoke weed, but you feel high. I mean, like, I feel high literally, like every morning or like, or every night. I've been doing, doing the Wim Hof for like more than 1 year consistently, almost every day. And bro, I swear, I'm, I'm in stressful situations sometimes and I still feel calm. Like, my stress doesn't want to go up. My stress doesn't want to go up. I want to stay, stay there. It doesn't— it can't go up because it's like I have this calm side of me. I was doing a speech. I had to do a speech in school, but I was so stressed. I remember, like, in the beginning of the year, I was so stressed. Now I came up to the speech. Yeah, I was stressed, but I couldn't feel more stress. It's like I felt a bit stressed But I couldn't feel more stressed than that because like I had like this calm side of me, this calm version that's like just calm and doesn't like wanna— like a stoic version of me. Like it's like I got, okay, I'm stressing here, but here is like I'm calm. So breathing exercise, bro, I swear in stressful situations I was calm just because of breathing exercises. I can't tell you right now, it can be meditation for you, but I've been doing the Wim Hof and It has like the most, one of the most benefits, like, but it's underrated. Another thing will be food. Now food, I know some people might be like, what, food? But the thing is, things like sugar can cause stress, literally, because if your body uses sugar instead of like fats and everything, like if it keeps on using sugar, I'm not gonna get into like the science, but you're gonna be a sort of more like, how can I say, like tense state. But I'm not, I'm not gonna go deep into that, but some foods can literally cause anxiety. Some foods can literally cause anxiety. So just stay away from the processed and the sugar food and everything. I know the thing, like when, when you're fasting, bro, you're more calm. Just the thing is many people are not like mindful of, for example, if they eat and their stomach hurts, they don't even know why the stomach hurts. They don't know. Maybe, maybe it's because of the food, because many people are just not mindful of their actions and everything. They don't know what caused them this because they don't reflect back on what they did. One of the last tips is always be mindful. Always be— always try to be mindful. I mean, go in nature, you're gonna be more mindful, but do things like try to stay in the present moment. Like, be like this and just be like I don't know, focus on your breath, for example, or maybe focus on watching that thing, or maybe focus on, oh, you're touching your skin, how it feels. Maybe focus on, um, what is— what it smells around you. Like, you're— if you do that consistently, in the long run, bro, your future self will thank you, thank you like 10 times, because you're going to be more on, you know, like a mindful state more often, and the stress is just going to disappear. You're gonna feel less stressed, or you might like not even feel stressed, and you're gonna think it's normal because you're gonna be in this mindful state more and more. So if you just practice, like for example, eat, be mindful of this because you're not thinking, you're not in your thoughts, you're just in the present moment, and you cannot stress because stress comes from the mind, bro. Now the last tip: always do things you fear. Always do things you fear. Um, the thing is And when you do something you fear, bro, you're gonna gain so much confidence and you're gonna automatically kill the stress related to that thing. If you're stressed about doing like a roller coaster, you do it and then you're gonna feel stress when you do it, or like before you do it, but then that stress is just gonna be killed, just gonna be killed because I mean you did it and now you see like, oh, it's not that bad. It's like an illusion. Like fear is an illusion. Fear is an illusion. Fear doesn't even exist. So you're gonna see, okay, bro, it's not that bad. Like, bro, a roller coaster is easy. You gotta keep doing things you fear. Me personally, I try to do one thing I fear every day, whether that's— it'd be small things like, uh, if I don't want to call someone, like if I don't want to call someone if I got something, because I used to be like socially like not good and everything. Maybe socially anxious. Um, so I'm like, I'm gonna call that person. And then I realize I'm getting better at this. I'm getting better at calling. I'm getting better at speaking. I'm getting better at social skills and everything just because I do this thing. I fear I cannot stay in the same state. That's not what I want to do. If I'm stressed, if I'm anxious, if I'm socially anxious and everything, I don't want to stay in that state. That's why I do things I fear, bro. So that's it for the video. Hope you all like it.
