If You STOP Watching Porn, THIS WILL HAPPEN!

Samir Gardner outlines four deep changes from quitting porn: rediscovering your individuality, confronting hidden fears through shadow work, reconnecting with meaning by facing life's pain directly, and regaining internal power as an active creator instead of passive consumer. He draws from his own journey overcoming bullying and building purpose through abstinence, coaching, and physical challenges.

Most people think that once you quit porn, you'll simply desexualize your brain, you'll gain more energy, more focus, and you'll be more productive alongside many other benefits. But the truth is, there's much deeper changes that are going to occur on the long-term horizon if you actually quit forever. And so in this video, I want to present to you 4 things that will actually happen to you once you stop watching porn. And these things are much, much deeper than you think. So the first thing is you'll rediscover your individuality. Most people think that there their thoughts, their desires, and their beliefs are their own, meaning that it came from them. But the reality is we've been conditioned ever since a young age to believe certain things, to act a certain way, and to feel a certain way when it comes to important aspects of our lives. And we never really change those things. This is what I would call appealing to the mass. For example, when I was younger and I was stuck in this cycle of PMO and I was putting lust on such a high pedestal. I still remember hanging out with friends and they would constantly talk about lust and wanting to sleep around with specific women that they knew. And I remember like feeling like a loser because I was the only one that didn't indulge in such lifestyle. And on top of that, I had zero confidence so I couldn't even engage in such lifestyle even if I wanted to. And that simply made me focus simply on one thing and that was lust. For such a long period of my life. And so the moment that I removed PMO from my life as well as other bad habits, what happened is I started asking like, what do I truly want and what will be best for me? I remember just, just after the pandemic, I started to re-reflect on these more meaningful questions and realize that I used to be following what everyone else was following and I didn't have to anymore. And I could create my own path based on what I think would be best for me. And that's when I decided to go and start coaching people. I created this sense of purpose around helping other people. I then wrote a book. I then went and did challenges like marathons, martial arts fights, and so many things because I reflected on the important question. And as a byproduct of that, that pushed me to do things for me and things that were best for me and things that would actually propel my life forward, both in the short term and the long term. Now, second thing is I started facing my unconscious mind. If you study a bit of psychology, you'll understand that every human has a deep unconscious that they never really made conscious, if that makes sense. And that unconscious is filled with fears, desires, very strong desires, and potential. But the problem is, when you're constantly watching porn, what happens is you're too afraid to face that unconscious, because that unconscious— this is where you'll find the dark part of yourself in that sense. Your desires that you never really wanted to express, your fears that were holding you back for all of this time to just go and live according to your potential, for example, and your fears that were there holding you back all of your life. And so what happens is the moment you remove porn and that you don't live in this fantasy world in your mind, and also whilst you're watching porn, what happens is all of these unresolved problems, all of these desires and fears, they can start popping back up as you spend more time with your mind. And you start realizing almost as if like there's this version of yourself that is tied to your past that you never really expressed because of fears, because of being shame, being judged, because of wanting to fit in. And you realize that you have a bunch of problems to solve. You have a bunch of fears that might be holding you back from simply talking to a stranger, things that are holding you back from your potential to even just be consistent with a certain habit that will bring you success in your life, and desires that if you were to use correctly would give you such drive and hunger in your life that you'll be willing to run to a wall metaphorically. I'll give you a personal example. When I was younger, I got bullied and I had many problems in my life where I was a nice guy. My friends would disrespect me. I was alone. No girl ever shown even the slightest bit of interest in me. I got hit in school. I was the short guy too. I was the weak guy. I felt emasculated, right? But within me, there was this desire to do something about this, to not be the kid that was bullied anymore, to be the kid that is actually strong and can actually command respect rather than get disrespected. The kid that wanted to actually be the leader and not the one that would be the nice guy. I wanted to be the guy that was successful, Jack fit and show to other people that they can't bully me anymore and that they should regret what they used to do to me. And so for years, I would just run away from that reality and what then became my past. Even though I had a lot of anger tied to it, I really, really knew that in the back of my mind, I had to make a change. And ever since I was young, I knew that I wanted to change my life around, become the guy that helps other people, become the strong guy, the leader. That was something I had in the back of my mind before when I was just very very young, right? And so the moment I remember in the pandemic when I would be bored at home indulging in bad habits, and one point I had so much free time that I started to get into like improving myself, and I started spending time with my thoughts, and I went and I journaled at that time and we reflected deep enough into my unconscious. Still remember doing this, this exercise that relates to your shadow self, which is essentially like the unconscious part of you, of your past that you never really expressed and you always wanted to express. And I would work on those things, and what happened one day is suddenly after doing that inner work, I became extremely, extremely driven and hungry alongside removing these bad habits like PMO, like video games and most of the distractions. I was not watching movies. I was not eating junk food. I just like had all of these, these things in my unconscious. What happened to me? And I started using that to stay motivated, to stay hungry and driven to just improve myself and actually actualize my potential and not be the guy that would be bullied again. That was my initial motivation. And then it changed as I went on to make progress. And then it became more about purpose and really helping other people. But that's what happened. Once you remove a distraction, you're now faced to solve those unresolved problems that will allow you to finally progress in life. And when I say progress, like I'm saying, you're gonna make drastic progress. Now, third thing, you're going to reconnect with meaning. Why do we PMO most of the time, right? Stress relief, emotional relief, relief from anxiety, depression, pain, emotional pain, and so on. When you don't you have PMO, when you don't have porn masturbation, as a byproduct, you have to face these. Now here's what happens. Of course it's going to be uncomfortable if you never really face these emotions or these problems or your— these challenges and adversities in your life. But as you are in the thick of it, you'll naturally start finding meaning into those things. As you will go through that pain, you will go through those challenges, and you'll see the progress that you're going to make as a byproduct of finally facing life. And so these same events, let's say for example, you work at a job and your job fires you because you underperformed. Now what's going to happen is on one side, if you were to go and watch porn, then what's going to happen is for you to solve the problem, which is to get a job. And well, it would be delayed if you were to just go and watch porn right away. So it's going to take you longer to solve that problem. Or maybe you're not even going to solve that problem and your life is just going to go down, down, down, down, and down. On the other side, when you don't have porn, when you don't have these distractions, What happens is you have to face life, and so you'll feel uncomfortable, you'll feel that pain maybe. But because you have to face life, then you'll have to actually go and find a job. And maybe you're going to think of a better idea. Maybe you're going to go and find a better job even. And that's when you'll realize, oh, look, I actually made progress because now I may be getting a better job. Now maybe I'm going to also start this business. Now I'm going to have a better work ethic for my next job. And so you start saying that, oh, when I face challenges, when I go through obstacles, I actually grow and my life actually becomes better and I become more comfortable dealing with the same exact problems and I can become a better role model for other people. And so you start associating all of this meaning to that pain, that challenge, that obstacle. And that's when the hard work or what's uncomfortable to most people becomes something that you actually like. Because the moment you don't have an option to just cope out of life and just escape and act as if the problems you're currently facing are nonexistent, then you'll just be left with what is good for you. And what is good for you doesn't just mean what's comfortable. It can be you actually solving those problems that are in front of you, those challenges, those obstacles, that pain, and making the best out of it and finally living a meaningful life as a byproduct of that. Now the fourth thing is you regain your internal power. Now I know this sounds a bit wishy-washy, but let me explain. Nowadays, lust is just something that's popular, right? And so if you can, for example, sleep with the most amount of women, or even if you know about certain porn videos, you're oftentimes deemed as cool and someone that other men would appreciate to be around. Nowadays, we all know that people fall into trends and lust and porn are parts of these trends where it's not only normalized, but it is valuable for most people to indulge in those things. And so the moment you kind of like separate yourself from that illusion that it's valuable to indulge in these behaviors, you remove what some people call tools of mass mindlessness, what influence what you desire and what you value. As cliche as it sounds, you start becoming actually a creator instead of just a consumer. And by creator, I just mean you take action in your life and you become less easy to control, right? See, imagine that most of your day is spent being on your phone, phone to listen to music and then watch a YouTube video, and then you go back home, you watch porn, then you talk to other people, and you never really spend time in solitude and isolation. I don't mean just like being in your room alone and just watching a bunch of YouTube videos, but actually facing life head-on, sitting there with your thoughts. Then it's much more easy for your environment to shape you, for the things that you consume to shape you, because you're always consuming. You're never really trying things. You're never really going out there and doing something that's going to get you outside of your comfort zone, you instead live through a fantasy where, for example, you'll go and watch porn to fantasize as if you were having sex. You might go and watch a certain sport to feel as if you're the guy playing that sport. You might go and watch videos of other people on YouTube that achieve the goals that you want to achieve because there's also this unconscious belief that sadly I see that many people hold on to unconsciously, and that is that they can't achieve anything themselves they can't produce anything great. And because of that belief, it shapes how they act, meaning that they don't go and actually try to do what's uncomfortable, but that will get them to the next level. For example, I talk to many guys on a frequent basis and they tell me, oh, look, Samir, I want to start a project where I'm going to be in this specific industry and I'm going to be one of the best there. And then when I ask them, okay, what have you done so far? What is your experience in that field? They tell me, well, nothing yet. I've just been watching videos about that. And this is where most most people get stuck. And so what they don't realize is that cycle of just consuming and never really creating can go on and on and on forever if there's no external events and/or an internal decision to really stop this and actually deciding that you're going to jump into the chaos, meaning jump into the unknown and going into execution, into creating something for yourself, for your future, for a purpose, for God. So when you really stop, okay, first you reclaim individuality, as I said. Second, you actually You actually face your unconscious and you make your unconscious conscious, which will finally allow you to solve those unresolved problems. Third, you finally start connecting with real meaning. And lastly, you really gain that inner power. Instead of like consuming, you actually become a creator and you actually create the life and the version of yourself that you always wanted to be. And you see, this is not just about quitting porn. It's about like really finding yourself again and living your life to your potential, how God designed your life for you.
