Why NoFap will Fail You again in 2026...

Samir Gardner argues that NoFap streaks and willpower alone will fail because porn use stems from subconscious beliefs, not just dopamine. He says you need to identify and change the underlying beliefs driving the behavior, not just white-knuckle through abstinence.

Most men actually start NoFap for a good reason. They're tired of feeling weak and tired of feeling like they're losing control over their own lives. NoFap feels like finally fighting back. And at the beginning, it feels powerful. There's hype, motivation, a light of hope. It feels like this time things will be different. But for most men, they aren't. And in this video, I want to explain why NoFap keeps on failing you and what actually works instead. For most people, porn didn't start off addiction. It started as an escape, an escape from pressure, stress, responsibility, from the fear of dealing with real relationships and becoming the man that's required to sustain them. And over time, the mind learns something important: that porn is my safe place. Porn becomes that shortcut. There's no effort, there's no rejection, no responsibility, only a couple of clicks and you receive a quote-unquote substitute for intimacy. So when someone tries NoFap, they're not just quitting a habit, they're cutting off the one thing their entire reality with. You think, I'm disciplined nowadays, I'm serious now, I'm finally doing something with my life. And for a while it works, but then life returns, stress comes back, fatigue hits, and loneliness starts showing up. That's where things start to massively collapse. Some people take NoFap further, monk mode, extreme semen retention, hard mode, cutting off everything pleasurable. The dopamine detoxes, But here's the problem. You're not meant to live like a mountain monk forever. God did not create man without desire. Desire for real intimacy is part of being human, just like the desire for social connection. So if your method only works when you suppress life, then the moment life returns, strong desire for porn and masturbation returns also. And that's not freedom. That's a delay. Others go to the scientific route. The dopamine, the receptors, the baselines, the flatline, the timelines, and consumes videos on top of videos on that specific topic when it comes to quitting porn and masturbation. And look, understanding the brain, understanding neuroscience can be extremely helpful and important. You can learn how your body works, how your brain works, how dopamine works, but still struggle because neuroscience or science in general can explain how the habit works on a physical level, but it doesn't necessarily go into how to purify your mind from wanting it. Then there's also streaks, and I'm surprised how many people still rely on this. Streaks, they don't keep you like in check. It's actually quite the opposite. They really turn abstinence into obsession. People stop changing themselves and they start just counting the days indefinitely. And when you feel after 30 days or 60 days or 90 days, the shame hits harder than ever. You don't have any more motivation, and you don't just relapse once, you fall back into your old identity, and that destroys you internally. I remember I remember working with a student named Adam. He tried the disciplines, the streaks, and every technique systems you can imagine, and nothing stuck. Not because he wasn't trying hard enough, but because the real problem was not identified.
I invested thousands of dollars into other programs and tried every single possible, you know, method or strategy out there. It just did not work.
Others tried sexual transmutation. They feel the desire, or what we call the urge, then they go to the gym, they They work, they study, they distract themselves with whatever. And this is not bad, this is productive. This can help you in the short term, but you're training yourself to run away from your own desire, from urges. You're not removing them at the root. What happens when you're tired, when you're sick, when you're stressed out? If you must constantly escape your own desire, the urges, you're still not in control. Porn doesn't stay because you're weak. It stays because your mind believes that it gives you a form of meaning, a sense of existence, of comfort. NoFap tries to remove the behavior, yes, but as long as the illusionary meaning, the value remains, the urge or desire will always return. Because self-control, willpower can manage your behavior, but they cannot remove the desire. And if you don't want to fight this mental battle within your mind for the rest of your life, think about it. If you don't smoke, you don't fight cigarettes. If you don't drink, you don't really count the days off alcohol. Why? Because the desire is probably not even there in the first place. Even those that reported to me and across research that made the decision to stop these behaviors do not really desire it anymore and just moved on. That's what real freedom looks like. Real freedom is quiet. You stop thinking about porn, you stop counting the streaks, you stop fearing the relapses, you stop fighting your own mind. Life just becomes normal again. Calmer, clearer, and you're more present. Not because you're forcing control, but because the desire for these dirty scenes and thoughts no longer have power over you. And to dismantle a desire, especially one you're ashamed of, you have to dig deeper. You have to question the set of beliefs underneath it in your subconscious. Because when a belief feels normal, you stop questioning it and it stays there. That's exactly what happened with Adam, as well as many of my other students. He didn't like the discipline. He didn't like effort. He didn't lack information. He was standing inside of a belief he never questioned. He never challenged. Questions that exposed what porn actually meant for him, the desire lost its grips. That's why I built my mentorship the way I did. Not to give you more rules or more motivation. No. But to help you identify the belief that keeps this cycle alive and dismantle it properly with a sound system. And I'm opening a gate for the 1-year program right now. And I can guarantee you that by the end of next this year, you will be surprised of how much control you've been able to acquire back in your own life. If this helped you see things more clearly and you feel like you're done experimenting on your own, I'll leave you the first link in the description to apply. The number of people I can take on is limited to really ensure that I give my students full attention inside a program. Go apply now. And remember, real change doesn't come from trying harder. It comes through changing your lens.
