you can learn anything bro

Samir Gardner argues that talent matters less than effort and mindset. He uses cooking, gymnastics, and academics to show how anyone can learn anything through persistence, and contrasts a naturally gifted but lazy student with a hard worker who succeeds.

Okay, what's good y'all, it's your boy Samir Gardner. Hope y'all doing good. So let's talk about like mindset, bro, and it's gonna be very simple. But there's two mindsets, right? There's the fixed mindset and there's the growth mindset. You need the growth mindset. I don't care who you are, you need a growth mindset. And what I want to tell y'all is a lot of people think, you know, natural talents do it. They think they need the genetics, they think they need this and that. But bro, that's just the programming. Like, that's just that, bro. You don't need, you don't need natural talents. You think, you think a basketball player only made it because of natural talents? No. Because of genetics? No. Still has to put in the work. And when you adopt a growth mindset, which is you can learn anything if you, if you learn, if you, if you go out there and do it, if you adopt that mindset, you're gonna, bro, you're capable of doing anything, bro, anything. For example, a lot of, a lot of people don't, like, especially men's And I'm talking about y'all, like y'all don't want to cook because you think it's not for you or because you think, uh, I can't cook. Y'all say I can't cook, but you say you can't cook, but why can you not cook? You never try. Like, you just gotta try, bro. It's like business, bro. It's just you fail and you get back up. Everyone can cook. And think about the mindset, but it gets to me, all right, because it's like Because I have the mindset and I know it works, I'm like, I can learn anything, bro. I just got the gymnastic rings, I can do anything. Maybe I'll be able to do a muscle-up if I keep on trying and trying and trying. Like, that's how it works. Like, y'all gonna understand, like, you— when you have that growth mindset, you can— anything you see, bro, anything you want to do, you can do it. You can't, but you know, we've got pretty much programmed. Like, for example, someone in our class was good at math. Let's say someone was good, you know, at math, and everyone said, oh, you're smart, you're this and that. And so, and the people who worked hard to get the grades, they're like, they're not smart, they're just, they're working hard because of their mindset, because Like, okay, I'm gonna compare. Okay, let's say there's two students, okay? One gets a 90%, uh, I mean both get 90% on their test, but one is smart, like he doesn't really study or anything, and one is working hard to get his grades and everything. Which one do you think will, will go far in life? If he doesn't— if the one who's smart doesn't do anything, he just does it like this, I don't know why he's smart, I don't even know I don't know why, but the guy who works hard, like, he works hard. Like, I mean, he's gonna work hard in different things and he's gonna learn. Maybe he was at 60%, then he got to 90% just because he grew, because he worked hard. That's how— that's why a lot of people gotta realize, like, see everything like this. See, like, okay, you don't have good social skills, then That's an opportunity to grow. It's not, it's not like, oh no, my weaknesses, I cannot do anything, but I'm born like this, I cannot. I wish I was like this guy because this guy can talk to anyone, he has a lot of confidence. But you can, you can get that too. You can get that too. So just, just fix your mindset, bro. Fix your mindset.
