Hello, my friends. It's your boy, Garrett J. White, the founder of wake up Warrior and the CEO of DKW Styling and your co host here in the date your wife podcast.
We haven't done a show in a hot minute.
We have sent shows out to the interwebs, many, many, many, many moons.
The Interwebs.
The Interwebs.
That's cool. Is that different than. Is that something new?
That is. Nope. It's a word.
Like Instagram, but better.
It's like Instagram. It's like. No, Instagram is part of the Interwebs. All right, anyways, we have not done an actual live show. Well, this show's not even live. We're recording this on demand for you. But what I'm saying is we haven't done a new show in about six weeks.
I know. Did you guys miss us?
I don't think they did well. There was one phase where our team actually played, I think, like, five straight sex shows.
I know. I was like, well, every week I have somebody who posts the podcast onto my blog, which is dkwsyeing.com and if you want to find more information about hair, natural beauty, rose fashion, all that good stuff, dkwsading.com. but anyways, I. Thanks. I like it like that.
You need it, like, straight out of. Your audio's gonna sound bad.
No, your audio's gonna sound bad. But I kept going on my blog, and somebody kept posting one, and it was a repeat. And I was like, why is every week about sex? Like, literally, I don't know who on his team was picking them.
I have a team of men.
I guarantee they're have a team of men. They're, like, looking down the list to see what title pops out, and they're like. They're probably not even subconsciously thinking about it. They're literally just, like, picking one out of the hat. But that just goes to show how men's minds work.
They're like, oh, well, just know most of my team that deals with this is in their 20s, they're single, and they're men. Which means, of course, the show they're gonna wanna see is about sex.
Yeah.
So we might as well continue down that base.
I don't think. It's not like they sit and watch it. I think literally the title, they're like, oh, that's a good one. It's like, lucky, for sure.
That's what they do.
Yeah.
All right, well, it's 2019.
Yeah.
I mean, this is the first show.
Should I turn yours down?
No, I Don't know. I'm not talking loud at all.
It sounds like you're yelling in my mic. How do I turn it down?
Why is that? Listen, you can't turn it down. Hold on, let me.
I can't turn it down.
I don't even want to. You can't turn me down. It's impossible. Hold on. Let me see something.
It sounds like you're yelling, like, really loud, but maybe my headphones sound different.
I'm not yelling.
Okay, let's get on with the show for date your wife, 2019. That's how it sounds.
That's how it sounds.
Yeah.
It's not that bad. It doesn't sound like that right now. Sounds bad.
If I. If you guys want to see us, go to dkwstyling.com where you can see us live talking about our headsets.
Give it to me. Swap it up, baby.
I think it might just.
All right, let's go. No, it sounds exactly the goddamn same.
It's your voice then.
Nope, it sounds exactly the same. It's exactly the same. I just swapped headphones with you. You're not listening to any different headphones than I was just listening to them.
Okay, well, you toned your voice down a little bit.
No, no, no, I did not. This is the exact same headphones. I think it's. Cause you're pregnant.
Oh, you just threw it out there.
Yep.
Like that.
We just did it just like that.
That was, like, the lamest reveal ever.
Nope, you already revealed it on social media, and we're, like, seven weeks behind on a live. A real show.
That was a bad reveal.
Nope, not a bad reveal.
We take it back. We're not pregnant.
Not pregnant. I am not pregnant. Gorgeous woman beside me, on the other hand, definitely pregnant. So talk to me about this pregnancy. This is.
I know that far.
How far along are you?
I'm almost past the first trimester, so I'm almost past the dark hole.
All right, now listen. You and I were pregnant earlier this year or earlier, 2018.
We're never pregnant, but.
Okay. They say we. All right? I know they say we, even though I realize we've done nothing.
You know what?
But why do they say we are pregnant?
I have this opportunity to apologize to those friends who met me in the last nine months, because here's what. What's happened? I. We decided, like, probably last. It was like, last year around this time. We were like, hey, let's. Let's try. I want. I'm like, okay, I'm 35. I only have two kids. But I want one more. And I'm like, clock's a ticking. Let's just. Let's. Let's do it. Clock is a ticket Now. Now, I. Did you guys know that 35 is called. What is it called? You're like, in grandma has a baby mode or. I don't. It's like, the worst.
No, but literally, like, when they.
When they break it down to you.
Yeah. They're like, you're old as shit.
They have you sit down and they're like, well, we got to do all these special tests now because, ELVA, you're now 75, and it's going to be a bumpy road.
Did you know my grandma's name was Elvis?
I know. Gladys. It's going to be a bumpy road.
You're going, oh, Gladys and Elvis. Elva or. No.
What is it called? It's called, like, advanced maternal age. That's what it is. They literally sit you down, they hold your hand.
It's like a therapy session.
They're like, you're now at advanced maternal age. You have 72 extra tests to do this month. I'm like, 72 extra tests. I'm 35. And they're like, exactly. You're a grandma trying to have a baby. I'm like, well, fuck you, doctor.
Just kidding.
It's not really.
So legitimately, you were though. You were like, senior mom.
I'm gonna punch you in the face.
Well, you almost punched me in the face this morning when I said you were nesting.
Yeah, he.
Why do you get upset about this? I swear to God, I have not said that. Except for this.
Have.
Like, literally, I said nesting yesterday.
You guys, how it goes down with Garrett? Like, every time he walks by, he's like, how's the baby doing? And I'm like, I'm not even showing yet. He'll be like, are you nesting? Do you need a nap? I'm like, you fucking treat me like you always do. Don't treat me like I'm a special ed client trying to be pregnant special. Don't treat me like I'm advanced maternal age.
Well, listen, I swear to God, like, I come back in from surfing this morning, I have an amazing surfing session. I had a great walk and talk with my buddy Jesse Uhl for business. Early in the morning, five o', clock, Like. Like, I had a great. Did my stack, did my core four, did my thing go out? Amazing surfing.
All I know is I am.
No, no, let me finish. I barely get back to the house. I am, like, stoked at A level of stoke that is difficult to beat. That stoke, like, I'm like. Scale of 1 to 10. I'm 11 and stoked coming out of the water. I mean, the swell's good. There's a lot of people out. The water's perfect. It's just. It's like one of those days where, like, I just smashed the shit out of this session. And I am so pumped. I'm so stoked. So I come in, and I see my wife, and she's moving these little. She replaces the fuzzy little stools that we never sit on, and I move.
Furniture around, and that's a normal thing to do.
All right, well, I'm just saying, like, you move some shit from upstairs to downstairs, you swap positions with some stuff. And my mind thinks about our friend Salmon again and again, got pregnant, and all of a sudden, she redid the whole kitchen. Like, we have friends who get pregnant, and they just do shit like this. So I look at my wife, just.
Imagine him coming in all smiley from.
Surfing, and he so stoked, like, level.
12, with this big smile, and he goes, you're nesting. Aw.
And what happens next?
It pissed me off so bad, I wanted to pick up the damn chair and throw it at his face. I'm like, I'll show you nesting, you motherfucker. Like, that's where my brain went. But.
Oh. And what came out? And I'm sitting there, and I'm like. I'm like a. I'm like a Care Bear. I'm like a Care Bear who all of a sudden got attacked by a gremlin.
Well, okay. But I will say he's like, hey, I care. There's been, like, a series of little things that, like, you're just.
You said. I said nesting the last year. I swear to God on everything that is holy, I did not say.
There's a lot of things that you think. And then I'm like, no, let me show you. On this text message, it's proof. I. You don't have. I don't have it on a text message. Or I could show you as proof, but literally, like this. I think you said at least 3 or 4.
I use the word nesting.
The word nesting, literally, like, N, E.
S, T, I, N, g. Nesting.
Yes. And I think what bugs me is, like, you're so. I think it triggered me this morning because you're, like, usually so oblivious to mess. I think you appreciate when it's clean.
I love it when it's.
And you're like. But when it's.
I love It.
When it's organized, you're so oblivious to it.
I don't give a. When it's messy.
Like, I usually have somebody who helps me throughout the week, but, however, on the weekends, it's like, I just. I just do it. So my routine on Saturdays, I usually, like, get up, have a cup of coffee, look at my emails, my Instagram, whatever it is. And then I'm like, all right, I gotta stop sitting here scrolling on my phone. So I get up and I start cleaning to get my day going. And it's always like when you're surfing. So it's like you come back from surfing and the house, and it's glorious.
It's like I walked into heaven.
Yeah. And I'm always like, yeah, you're welcome. But you never notice or say anything about it, except for today. You're like. You're nothing. And it just hit me, and I was like, oh, I'm punching the dick.
Oh. And I'm seriously hoping that you would punch me in the dick.
Okay.
All right, so let's continue. So, like, you're pregnant. This is exciting. And all the shows are gonna be affected by pregnancy. We're gonna talk about it. You're due when? When are you due?
I'm not due till end of July, so I got a. I got a. I got six months left.
You got a good six months in.
I got a good six months.
At what point in this six months process do you get to the point where you're like, I can't fucking do this anymore. Anymore. Like, get this baby out of me. When does this happen?
You know what?
I think this happened just the last month, or has this happened before?
No, honestly, it's just, like, sleeping kind of sucks when you start to get big. And it really, really, like, the last probably month, it's just rough. Like, I, like, retain water, and I just look like a different human being.
You've become a different human.
I'm like a gremlin.
No, you're not even a gremlin. You're like.
I'm, like, waddling around.
Yeah, you are. You're like. You're like, what's the little fuzzy big one?
I'm like a.
Mich. No. What's his name? It's not Elmo. No, Gizmo. Gizmo? Yes, Gizmo is his name. He's the little fuzzy one that doesn't turn into the mean, skinny green ones.
I don't know. I just know that, like, the. I would always. Because, like, around seven months or like, around I would say, yeah, like around seven months. It's not too bad. You're like, you have a little bump.
Yeah. Everybody knows you're pregnant.
Yeah. You get a little bit of your energy back. You're like, oh, you can feel the baby move. Like there's this two month window which is like, yeah, it's your second trimester. Pretty much. There's three trimesters in a pregnancy and it's pretty like your first trimester, you're just kind of sick and crappy. And I don't really get sick. I just get, like, tired and moody. Hence why I rip his head off when he tells me I'm nesting.
But.
And then like the second trimester, you're finally like, oh, I'm feeling pretty good. And then the third trimester, you're like, oh, my God, how this is a good thing. It's only nine months. I can't go any longer. So, like, they're like, you. You get scared to, like, deliver and have the baby and there's like all this, but you get to the point where you're like, I gotta get.
Do you get scared? Like, is there a moment where you're like, shit, I'm like, doing this. This is intense.
Yeah. I always get. Well, no, like, in the moment.
I never, like, before the moment.
Yeah. Like, I always, like, think about it, like, how crazy it is, like, to labor and everything and how long it is. And, like, you mentally have to, like, tap into another source. Like, I'm convinced men could not ever.
I'm convinced. I'm convinced there's a few men that could. I'm convinced that 99.9999999. No, there's pretty powerful guys.
No, that. Not at that level. No. No. Sorry. That's why women have babies. You can't.
Well, I guess we're never gonna know.
Yeah. You can't take this away.
We're never gonna know. Except for that one movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger where he was pregnant.
But, yeah. So anyways.
All right.
You know what's cool at the end is.
Is having a baby, you know?
Well, like, like every time I have a baby and, like, it's so funny, like, the baby's like sitting in your arms. And like, for me, if it sounds bad, like, I'm kind of like, oh, cute, fun baby. But like, ultimately, like, I'm kinda like, I fucking did it. I, like, made a baby and I push it out and it's right here and it's like such a high and I'm like, you're cute, too. But I did it, like, the weirdest high ever. Like.
Yeah, like, it's, like, an accomplishment.
Yeah, totally. You're like, yeah, you can't have a baby. Like, I don't know how to.
Well, it doesn't matter. Cause normally I pass out, so.
Oh, yeah, Garrett did.
What the fuck?
Garrett passed out twice.
No, I didn't pass out. Both babies. Just one baby. I passed out after one of your surgery. You had. I passed out from looking at blood.
My second baby. I get in there, like, they're already. Like, you're. You're at a seven, which means, like, you're getting close. Like, do you want an epidural or not? And I was like, no, I think I'm good. And then, like, one good contraction hit me, and I was like, where's the doctor? And so then they're like, okay, let's bring him in. Like, it's now or never.
It's like two in the morning, too.
So Garrett is on, like, on the way there, he's like, all right, we're doing this. We're having a baby. He's, like, drinking a Red Bull. And I was like, he's. He had. I'm like, wow, he's pumped. So we get there, the anesthesiologist shows up. All of a sudden, like, it's all quiet, and I'm, like, bearing through a contraction, like, in the middle of the.
And they're putting this giant ass needle in your back.
All of a sudden, we hear this thud, and a tray flies. And we're like, what the. And Garrett's passed out on the floor. He's literally on the floor. And I'm like. And I'm getting the needle in my back in a mid contraction. I'm like, oh, God. Is my husband dead? Then they pick him up, and they put him in a gurney next to me, or a stretcher, whatever they're called. And we have a picture of us holding hands, and only I'm delivering, though, not him, so.
And then the nurse comes up to me. She says, you're sweet. Here's what I need you to do. And you know what's crazy? They wanted to take me down the emergency room. We didn't have health insurance.
I know that's.
And I was like. All I could think about was like, holy shit, this is gonna be so expensive.
But you know what? You were fine.
It was, like, eight years ago. I was fine.
Goose egg.
You little gooseneck. In the day. I didn't even have a goose egg.
I hit my they take you down to the. Wherever they take into that. That could. I could have had the baby. Like, that's.
How could I have had the baby. And I could have been sitting down in an emergency room for, like, nine hours.
Yeah, I think they were worried about you having a concussion and being liable and all the other shit.
No, they're worried about getting sued for sure. Which makes sense. That's fine. No, it was fine. So I ended up sitting in the corner in timeout until the baby.
Yeah. And then it was funny. Even when I had the baby. Like, the doctor, like, didn't. Like, usually they let the guy cut the cord, and they were like, no.
They didn't even let me cut the cord.
He goes to the doctor, he looks at Aaron, goes. You sit over there. He, like.
He literally put me on the corner. He's like, you've already proven yourself completely fucking unworthy to be in this room. I'm like, God damn it.
I don't think you do well with bladder needles.
But I didn't.
When you have low blood sugar, maybe.
Yeah, when I have. When I'm, like, in the right condition.
I went in for another surgery. Oh, shit.
And Gary, here we go again.
Same thing happened. Like, I don't know if I was getting. Oh, I was having, like, my tubes taken out or something at the end of the surgery.
Yeah, I was like, the blood drainage. Yeah.
Literally, like, his face went, like, green. And the nurse was.
I almost passed out. The only reason I didn't is Cause I squatted down. And then the nurse came down to me, and she. She looks at me. She says, yep, look at me. And I looked at her, and she said, okay, listen, you're not doing good right now. I need you to sit down. And I was pouring sweat everywhere. Needless to say, I'm not gonna be a doctor.
I love it when you're there to support me.
And then I become the weak link. I'm like, I got you, babe. I got. Oh, my God, I can't do this.
Yeah, it's no good, but, yeah. So the beginning of the year, we decided to try. I pretty much get pregnant, like, really fast. Literally, the first or second try, it's like, bam. So we got pregnant at the beginning of the year. I don't know if we shared it on some of our podcasts or not.
We didn't share with anybody except for a few of our team members.
We didn't share. But I ended up miscarrying when I was about 10 weeks along and I.
Announced this, like, Literally, I'm speaking of funnel hacking live in 2018. 3,000 people. And I announced from stage that you're pregnant. And everybody's cheering, and I walk out of this event in Florida. No, Florida, where I'm speaking, and I come out to a phone call with you frantic, and you're having a miscarriage.
I know. It was rough.
It was. You know what was interesting? It was rough for me. I think, in my mind, I had. I had kind of settled into, like, okay. My wife's.
It was kind of rough for my girls because it was, like, a traumatic story. But, like, we were at a movie, and I stood up, and all of a sudden it was like, yeah, tmi. But it was just like a big gush.
Blood everywhere.
And I was like, oh, my God. And I was like. And we, like, drove straight to the emergency room. And then even, like, with this one, the girls are like, mommy, how do you know if this one's gonna stick? And I'm like, well, I had my first doctor's appointment. Like, we've heard a heartbeat. We're a little bit further along. Like, I'm feeling good about it, and I actually have had a miscarriage in the past, and so I just. I almost feel like it's like my body's way of be, like, warming up to being like, okay, are we really doing this?
You had a miscarriage. You didn't have a miscarriage for Ruby, did you?
No, I didn't.
Just before Bailey.
Before Bailey, But. So I've had. I've had two. But. But yeah. So then after. After that happened, I kind of was just like, oh, okay. I need. I need some time. I don't want to, like, try right away. So we actually. I just, like, had fun this summer. Probably too much fun. Like, anybody. Anybody. Any friends.
Any of your close friends would vouch for the fact that you definitely got.
It in the summer. I think I was just like, oh, my God.
Summer. You got it in.
Yeah. Like, I had a good summer because I was like, man, when you're pregnant, like, there's just. You're just, like, not yourself. And you. You can't drink. You can't. There's, like, a lot of things you can't do. You're just, like, not yourself. And I just had a while.
You got after it.
I got after it for a good six months. And then I was like, okay, I gotta reel it in. And then. And then we tried again, and here we are again. So we are excited and excited for the new start of 2008 it's gonna be weird. It's like, starting over for me, but I think it'll be good.
Our kids are like. I mean, I was sitting there at lunch today with Parker, who's, like, gonna be 20 on April 4th, my oldest son from my first marriage. And I'm sitting at lunch with him, and then I go to a little Chuck E. Cheese date with Ruby, who's seven, almost gonna be eight, same day. Him and Ruby and Parker both born on the 4th of April. And then we got Bailey, who's gonna be 12 on the February. On February 5th.
You're getting old.
I know, but I'm looking at all these kids, and I'm like, holy shit. Like, we're having a baby. Like, and I'm doing the math in my mind, and I'm thinking, I'm gonna be sitting here having lunch with my daughter son when they're almost 20, and I'm gonna be 2 years old.
How old were you?
I was 22.
Yeah. That's young, especially for a guy.
I was 22 when we had the baby.
Yeah.
Yeah. Me and Kristi. So it made a very different. You weren't that. I mean, how old were you?
I was only 24 when I had Bailey, but still. Yeah, we both. Both started pretty young, so here we are. But it's, like. It's kind of weird. I feel like a lot of my. A lot of, like, people that I work with or a lot of friends, like, they're maybe like a year or two younger than me, and they're just getting started. Do you know what I mean? So I don't know. I always kind of thought that I would have at least three. And I felt. When I. I remember when I had a baby, I was like, oh, I really want a baby. And then, like, I was like, holy shit. What am I thinking? Like, I've definitely felt, like, really young to have a baby. Like, I was just like, oh, oh, I don't know if I'm ready. Like, I should have, like, enjoyed more free time being married in, like, adult life. Like, oh, my God. Like, I don't know if I was ready, but I don't know if you're ever ready.
I don't think you actually, like, have the ability to even comprehend how much your life's gonna change before you.
No, you don't. You don't. And you know what? For me, like, I. What I noticed for me is, like, I'm a super pretty, even kill, chill person for the most part. And, like, kids brought this, like, crazy level of anxiety. For me, like, I just was always stressed out on my kids and still I think I'm kind of like a little bit of like an overly protective mom. But it just like, I never like, I. Anxiety runs a little bit in my family, but I'd just be like, oh, my mom. My mom and sisters are a little crazy. It's just like, like it never seemed like for me, I was like, yeah, like, I was pretty easy going and like, kids made me have like this whole other stress level that I would have not experienced. But I will tell you, like, kids, like, having kids also, like, it pushes you to do things like you didn't think were possible. And I think it like, fast tracks you. So like, it, it brings on this maturity and this responsibility. I feel like it gives you this sense of purpose which can transfer over to your business life and everywhere else. And so it's like, it, like having kids at a young age wasn't necessarily a bad thing. In a way. I think that's why we're where we're at in our marriage and in our careers. Like, it just makes you put on your like, responsibility hat and all of a sudden like, what you would go into, like, kind of not blindly, but just like, like, like you didn't have anything to lose. You know what I mean? And then when you have kids and responsibilities, like, you go into business and life a little bit different. Like, like you with your kids especially, like, you have, you're just like, you kind of go in thinking, like, I have something to lose now, so you have a little bit of like, I don't know, this responsibility. But. And, but you also have like, a little bit of this. For me, it was like, kind of anxiety and like, learning how to like, channel the energy and like, make it work.
For me, I don't think that, like, I seriously don't think that a human being can fully grasp the intensity of what it is to be a human being without birthing them.
Yeah, there's not. You can't like somebody.
And let me take this back, there's people who cannot make babies, right? Like, they have problems with that. But I think like, raising a child, it just creates a shift. Like, it just. You can't. Like, people can try to tell me all day long that are single or who are married, that don't have children or have not adopted or do not raise children or whatever the case is.
It's just, I don't think you can experience the same things in life without having to, like, care for somebody.
It's impossible. Like, I'm. And people will try to compare their dogs to kids.
Compare it.
Your dogs are not.
There's no argument there. Like, you can't even. There's nothing to even can compare it. You can be like, oh, I can do. I can learn everything. You can. I don't need kids. But you can. Like, I'm not saying it's bad or good. It's just. It's just what is, like, I think the natural order. It's like me being like, hey, you can't. You can you understand what it is to be a woman? No. And I can understand at some level, I can understand what it is to be a man, but not really, because I'm not a man. So if you don't have children, like, you can't learn the lessons really fully understand what it is unless you actually raise children.
And the thing is crazy is that people, like, there's a lot of people who are completely anti to having children. I'm like, what's so ironic about that is the fact that if somebody had had the same thought process you had, you wouldn't fucking exist, right? Like, if somebody didn't decide to make a baby, you don't exist. Now here you are having an opinion about having babies. And I'm like, well, I don't know. I think I meet a lot of guys who are in a very interesting camp. And fortunately, most of the guys. And not fortunately, just most of the guys I hang out with are guys who are married, who have children. Because that tends to be the focus of Wake Up Warrior, which is married businessmen with children. And so we're around this conversation constantly. I don't think guys were ever prepared for kids. I don't think they ever really get prepared for kids. I don't think they ever truly become prepared for kids. I think the men just shift into this place of understanding where they're like, okay, like, this is my life. I think that it does push production, though. Like, as a businessman, I noticed when I turned 40, I started. Well, I started thinking about, like, my children and legacy and future in a way when I turned 40, that I never considered it before. Like, not being married and not having children. There's no fucking way on earth I'd work this hard.
Yeah, you would.
I would work hard at something. I just wouldn't work this hard doing.
What you were doing.
I don't think I would give a shit.
If you would work this hard, you would have less focus, way less focus. Because from the time that I met you, I Mean, I remember when we were dating and I. We'd, like, go out at, like, 9 or 10. I'd be like, what are you doing? You always had a drive, like, for work. Like, you were always working. Like, always. The only time when you weren't working is, like, when I first met you and you were. I was serving tables and you were just chilling out. And actually, like, I think that's when we built, like, a pretty good, like, chemistry and bond. Because we were both just, like, in transition. We're like, I don't know, like, what are you doing? Like, I was like, you're hugging. When we started to get serious with one another, even you were like, I gotta get a serious job. I can't work serving tables. And then you went and did, like, loans, became a loan officer. And then, like, you were like. Then we started talking about getting married. And that's actually what, like, made you.
That's what made me launch my own company.
Cause I was like, I can't fucking.
Like, be an employee for someone else trying to take care of family.
But I think, like, women can motivate men, too, to, like, kind of, like, push the boat.
You highly motivated me. I think that, like, you being pregnant has changed. Like, me right now.
You told me the other day, you're like, I think girls being pregnant is hard on guys. It is. As girls.
I did. I said that. And I think it is. Because as a guy. Here's the thing that's interesting. When you're pregnant, as a guy, so you're super hot, right. And I want to have sex with you.
I'm, like, rolling in, like, the gremlin.
Yeah. But it's weird, though, because when you're pregnant. When you're pregnant, there's also this other thing that releases, like, some kind of endorphin releases from you that with the sexual mojo for a man, which is.
Like, you go more into, like, protective mode.
Yes. It's like this confusing. See, when you're not pregnant, but you're, like.
You're, like, in. Like.
But I can't go to that place. It's like there's a shield that blocks my balls. Like, it's weird. Like, I. Like, I'm sitting there and I'm. I want to be just like, I'm gonna give it to you, and yet I cannot. There's this emotion that comes from me.
From a woman's perspective, too. Like, I get it, and I appreciate the sensitivity to, like, you being like, all right. But then there's sometimes where I'm like, don't treat me like I'm pregnant right now. Like, you know what I mean? Like, with like the whole like, oh, you're nesting. Because it feels like you're almost like. Like I'm one of your kids. Or you're like, oh, is this where the parent.
Your parent?
Yeah, we were talking about this at dinner. I'm like, don't parent your spouse.
Did you feel like I was parenting you when I said nesting?
No. No, but I'm sorry.
You sound like your mom.
No, you didn't parent, but it's almost like you're like, oh, cute. And you're not. I don't look at. Like, you don't. It's not a sexual energy. It's like a.
You want me to be sexually turned on by you?
Are you not?
I am, but I'm just telling you right now, like, did you find it.
Hot when I was moving couches around?
No. I did find Christmas Eve hot though.
Yeah, Well, I still got it. See, that's. I was telling you.
That was a surprise attack.
I know because I was like, that.
Was a complaint because I was having to put together a goddamn little dollhouse for three and a half fucking hours in the middle of the night. I was losing my mind and throw shit through the wall.
Oh, my God. Like, everybody year, like some dollhouse. No, Every year, Christmas Eve, it's like, I usually have this tradition where I like make this big breakfast and I like wrap all the gifts.
You do a shitload of work.
I do almost so much. And so every year I'm always like, oh, my God, I'm wrapping presents for so long and I hate it. And what used to, like, be enjoyable, I was like, fucking presents. And so I was smarter this year. And I was like, you know what? I have a full time. Like, I have a cleaner and a nanny that helps me. Like, why am I wrapping gifts? And I was like, and why am I going shopping? So literally, Amazon was like my best friend. And like so many. Just like, it was just great. Like Amazon Prime. Like, everything got there. Everything was ordered online. And when it got there, I was like, okay, Tori, I want you to buy red wrapping paper and green wrapping paper. I have two kids. Wrap this kids in red and wrap this kids in green. That way I don't even have to worry about tags or anything. Put them in piles and then hide them in the garage.
Brilliant, by the way.
So, like Christmas Eve came, I'm like making my little egg casserole and like, got some movies on. I'm like, all right, kids, go to bed. I'm like, my job is done. I lay out the things and I'm like, oh, by the way, you have a 75,000 piece doll set you need to put together.
You say, there's this box in the garage, can you bring it in? It's LOL Dollhouse.
To my defense, I thought when I looked at it, I was like, I bet it's already put together. I mean this is a big box. Like, no, I bet it's like you just pop it out and put the doors on. You're probably good.
I knew exactly what I was getting into the minute I took it out of the Amazon box and I saw the LOL Dollhouse box. I was like, get the fuck out of here.
You know what? Last year I was thinking like, when you're putting together something else, I remember thinking like, we gotta ask our handyman to put together our tools or our toys too. So literally it's like wrap presents out, toys put together. And I remembered my side. I just didn't remember your side. And you didn't know what I had bought because you don't buy anything. I didn't, No, I don't buy anything.
I just bought.
But it was so funny because literally on Christmas Eve, like he's. I literally like coordinated everything, made breakfast, it's ready to go.
I'm like, check, check.
Like got my hands my Santa hat on. I'm like, well babe, it's time to go to bed. And he's like so pissed putting together this dollhouse. And he. You're just, you don't like doing handy stuff anyways.
No, I'm not, I'm not. Like, I can deal with technology, sequencing, marketing.
So I came down to my Santa outfit and why don't you put it together later?
I was so distracted. And then she came down and she was a glorious.
Because I knew you can't stay mad. I was like, you're really ruining my Christmas.
She was sexual Santa.
I was like, I have checked everything off my list and you're the last thing I need to check off my list. And you're really.
Yeah, well, we. It was some great sex. It was amazing. It was an amazing Christmas Eve present. And I woke up at 3:30 in the morning to finish the goddamn dollhouse. And then the dollhouse was done literally five minutes before she walked.
I think what's hard when, when you're pregnant is maybe like sex for a guy. And I don't really know because as you get bigger, you're just like, ooh. Like, how do you work around that?
Do you know what? It's not even the body. It's not the body. I've decided, I swear to you, I don't even know. I can't scientifically back this up, but I am telling you, there is some kind of a. There is a. It's almost like your body is sending some kind of signal to me like, that. Normally they would say, there's some red flags, you should want me. And it's now sending a signal that says, thank you. You're not welcome here.
And so well done, factory clothes.
Yeah, exactly. Like your work is done here. Bye. Bye, you. I'm like, what?
It's weird though, you don't say it as a girl. Like, in my experience, like, your hormones are still going crazy, so you're kind of like, it's like, in this weird place because it's weird for a girl too, because you're like, not in the beginning. Really? And I think that's why I was like, all right, let's get him out of his funk a little bit. But I think as you start to show and you get bigger for a girl, your hormones are going and you're like, I'm ready. But you're like, this is a really big ass belly. Like, we're just getting Your have to take them for the team hunt. I don't tell you, like, so that's just kind of how it goes down. But I don't know. Like, I think what's the hardest is you're just tired. Like, you're tired in the beginning. And then like I said, you have like a two month period where you're like, ah, feeling pretty good. And then like, your last, like, you're tired again. So there's. You're just tired. So, like, really, when I see Garrett and I see, like, this long pillow laying in the bed, I'm like, oh.
She thinks, oh, I could have him naked.
So. But what I'm thinking I could have this pillow. But what if you had. I will take the pillow. What if you changed it and you're pregnant? You went for, like, afternooners or morningers.
The morning is never gonna.
I know, because you are so stuck on your routine.
As weird as this sounds, I would actually.
But that's what's so funny.
If I had to make a decision.
Between getting laid, when I see my.
Getting up my morning routine, I would.
Do my morning body pillow that I'm like, at night, I'm like, oh, yeah, that looks great. And that's how you are in the morning, you look out and you see the waves and you're like, oh, yeah. Like, that's like for me, like, nighttime for me is I'm like, sleep nice. Whereas you're like that with the so. And then in the afternoon, we're usually, like, working or whatever. So it's really quite the pickle. All right.
That's what she said. That's quite the pickle. That's what she said. So here's our show now is at 30 minutes, and we have said everything we're going to say for this episode, but we have introduced the entire we are pregnant game, and we've started down this path of interesting conversations that I'm confident will come up for the next six months of episodes, which we commit to doing one every week for you guys that are going to, at some level going to involve the sex game is going to change. If you look at 2018, it was constantly this conversation of sex. Well, guess what? We got what we asked for. Now we have a baby from all the sex. And so in 2019, we're going to be just baby fucking talking all the time. Pregnant baby talking. Had a baby type baby talking. The baby shits itself talking. The baby won't sleep talking. My wife falling asleep on the microphone because she's so tired talking.
Like, even when I'm scrolling through any kind of social media, like, when I would see pregnant girls, I'm like. And now I'm all like, oh, that's cute. I like how she styles her bump. That's so cute. So it's like, whatever, whatever.
Our daughters made you an emoji with the pregnant.
It's like, whatever phase you're in in life is like kind of what. What's fun to listen to. So anyway, sorry, guys in advance, but that's kind of where our life is right now. And that's kind of what we're gonna be talking about.
We're not gonna be sorry, you're pregnant and we're excited about it. And. Yeah, there you go. That's all we got for you.
I'm excited to see me grow on camera.
I'm excited to see you grow. Oh, you are. You are gonna grow.
You're gonna get a little chubby cheeks. The best is when I like my first pregnancy, I'm like, sitting there, I'm feeling all cute one night I got this, like, really fitted dress. I got this, like, little bump going on. I'm like, I don't look too bad. I showered, like, did my makeup and my Hair. And I was like, talking to my sister and I'm like, you know what? I'm like, I'm so glad. Like, I mean, yeah, I get that you gain weight and, you know you're pregnant. I'm like, so glad that my face hasn't gotten chubby. And she's all. I was like, really? I'm like, no. She's like, oh.
Really?
And that was an all time low. I'll tell you the biggest all time low, though, when you're pregnant, though.
What? Tell me.
It's when you go to put on your husband's T shirt at the end of your pregnancy and it's a crop top. That's the worst.
You know what, though? It's. Yeah, Yeah, I think. I think I got some T shirts that'll work for you, though.
Yeah.
Not a big guy, but I've literally.
I remember being like, I can feel my belly. And the shirt's not.
It's a belly shirt.
It's a belly shirt. But that's cool.
So thank you so much for being here with us in this episode. Again, we had almost no purpose outside of just announcing the fact that we are pregnant.
Happy 2019.

Yeah, we'll talk about parenting. Your parenting. Your parenting.
Parenting your partner.
