Hello and welcome to a brand spanking new episode of the Date youe Write podcast. I am your host with my co host and partner in crime, my husband, Garrett White.
Oh, excuse me, what?
Garrett J. White? He gets severely offended if you forget the J. And now, naturally, I have to go by Danielle K. White. Sometimes I forget the own K in my name. But we are here to talk about so many things on this podcast. If you're new and you don't know who we are, check us out on Instagram. We have five kids together. We've been married for 21 years this month.
21 years.
I met him when I was a wee lad at 18 years old. We laddie got married at 20 years old. Nearly got divorced so many times. Lost everything, rebuilt everything, had four kids. And here we are in our $27 million Beach Man. Yeah.
We change the value of that home all the time.
Yeah.
Versus 28. Yeah. So why don't you tell them what we're planning on doing?
Well, do you want me to share the news?
That's why I said, why don't you plan on telling. Tell them what we're planning on doing.
Well, we. We moved into this house, what, three, four years ago?
Coming up on four years.
And it was like, it's an incredible home. Like, if you. We literally have an aquarium in our home. We have a pool that drops down into the basement that you can watch your kids swim. It's like, it's a. It's a miniature hotel. And when we got this house, I was like, oh, my God, we're staying here for life. And but when you get this, this calling or something, that's like, hello. No, no, that's not what we're doing. So we, Garrett and I have traveled out to Miami last year quite a few times, and we just felt like we were at home. But we didn't consider moving at the time because we still were very much in love with our house. I feel like, if anything, I was like, oh, and our kids are older. Let's get a second home in Miami. Cause I thought we were going to keep this house forever. But then just recently I was like, I think we need, like, the timing of our family and everything. Garrett and I went to dinner and I was like, I need to share my feelings and where I feel called to go. And I think this is the perfect time. And anyways, I convinced him at dinner and he felt it too. And so we're moving to Miami.
Woo. Moving to Miami. That's actually the first song that we really Ripped in salsa class. We moved to Miami with Enrique Iglesias. Now, listen, we. We've. People asked, like, are you serious? Are you serious about what? Hey, when. When we sell our house, then we'll move.
Yeah. Yeah.
Like, and I feel like, is this, like, an economic problem? No. Is this a. You're unhappy with California? No. Is it because of taxes? No. Is it because of Governor Newsom? No. Is because the presidential elections? No.
That adds a little bit.
No. None of that has anything to do with me. It's just, like, I feel the flow, and when we feel the flow, we go. And that's been. That's been the case. Everything that's been glorious in our life has been a feel the flow and go. And a lot of people get stuck rigid in their plans. And 90% of the moves we make, most couples would never make.
Yeah. I was at this women's conference last weekend, and one of the comments, I can't remember, one of the speakers said, she's like, if God brought you to it, he'll get you through it. So sometimes people are, like, scared. They're like, I don't know if I can do this. But I liked how she said that, because it's like, God brought you this opportunity, which means he's going to help you smoothly transition.
And we smoothly transitioned into this house.
I know.
I mean, even the story getting into this home was, like, almost four years ago. When we bought this home at 20 million. It was a very. It was just a serendipitous. We ended up owning two homes on the same street. So $30 million in real estate and, like, all in the same street. Then we sold the one house, and we had this house. We've had this house for almost four years. It's crazy. It's been almost four years.
I know.
Since we've been in this home, it feels like we just moved.
Like, it's still new. Yeah.
Yeah. And that's kind of the process of life, though, is just this willingness to let go of what you have and go. And there's a lot of things where things are bad and you let go of something bad to go to something good, or you let go of something bad to go to something great. But letting go of great things to reach for even higher purpose is kind of become our path now.
I think, though, too, what was interesting for me is any other time we've chosen to go was kind of out of pain. And I, like, it was like. If you think about it, like, when we lost everything, we didn't really have an option. It's like, do you maybe want to move to Arizona? It's like, we have nothing. So let's figure out where this is going to go. We're not at that pit right now. So I think I tell people all the times, I'm like, it's almost harder to make big choices when you have abundance. Yeah. Because you're like, is this risky? Am I going to risk losing it versus when you have nothing to lose? You're like, fuck it. Let's give this a go.
I mean, we've taken that. That principle of taking risk, period, is, like, really difficult for everyone. Regardless. Business, marriage, your body, things are good.
Right.
How do I not let go of good to reach for something greater? Like a client I was meeting with and just last week, and he ended up not moving forward in this other program we have. And the biggest reason was like, I don't want to. I don't want to fuck up my current peace and freedom. And I was like, I get it. I was like, I get it. He's making 700,000 a year. This is the same guy that used to make 5 to 10 million a year. He lost a bunch. His wife died about nine years ago, went to war in business and massive lawsuits. Fought through it all, got through it all, now has this place where he makes 700,000. He works like a day a week, and he's like, on his farm in Wisconsin. And he just like, I don't. But I don't want to, like, interrupt my piece. I feel really good. I'm like, I totally get it.
But then the kicker is he says that, but if he's coaching with you, then he feels like there's this other piece of him that's like, if you stay there, you're not going to grow.
Oh. That's why he dropped out of the program.
Oh.
So he was in and then he was out. And I was like, makes sense. Yeah, makes sense. Because if you're going to be in, I'm going to push you to grow.
Yeah.
Like, this good enough thing is not going to work for me.
Yeah.
Now, amidst the spirit of good enough and taking risks. We've talked about this before. You took a risk last week or last year and in March of 23. And we talked about this with Hatters when they were on our podcast here just a couple weeks ago.
Like, you bring this up a lot.
Well, it's because it's a major thing, like, for everyone. Like, I. I took a risk back in 16 and put something that was Important to me on the table sex. And then you took a risk in 2023 and put some on. On the line, which is soul. Like, what we were reaching for was something bigger and different. But it was also a gateway for you to be able to be honest emotionally with me for the first time in a really deep way. Do you feel like you weren't honest before?
No, I think I was honest. But I think. I mean, here's the thing. Sometimes you. You. For women, it's like, we are notorious for being like, hey, you. You have the checklist. Like, it doesn't matter what level you're at, but it's like, you have the checklist. You've got the kids, you got the house. Maybe you're not at this level, but there's some level of, like, I should just be grateful for where I'm at. And then there's this piece where you're like, something is missing. And for women, it's. They might join, you know, social activities together, almost kind of distract themselves or sedate or whatever it is. But you have to ask yourself, what am I missing? Yeah. So kind of I. You know, to go back to Garrett's point. And the. The story is, I had just had my fourth daughter. We live in this beautiful mansion. I had gotten back in shape after four kids, looked the best I'd ever look. And we were going on date nights and the trips and the jewelry, and I still was like, why there? It just felt like something was kind of, like, hollow, and I. But it was like, don't rock the boat because you have all this. You're gonna risk losing it. And even though I make money, like, you're primarily the provider for our family. So it's like, don't say anything because you're just supposed to be the wife that's grateful and tell him he's the best and don't share your feelings. Like, you can't complain. But I got to this painful point where, like, I shared this on several other podcasts. I literally was, like, thinking about dating other men and sleeping with other men. And I'm like, I don't want to feel like this. I don't want to think these thoughts. I want to be connected to my husband, even to the point where I'm like, I'm a powerful woman. I could go off and be with whoever I wanted. And I was like, do I want that, though? And so it was scary coming to you and, like, sharing where I was at, because I was like, I don't like this, you know, I don't want to feel this way. And I was in such a painful spot that I thought, if I share this, am I risking it? But I was like, fuck it. I have to share even what I need. And what I realized is the cars and the money and the jewelry, although grateful and are nice, didn't fulfill me.
I know why I have figured this formula out. Would you like to hear?
Sure.
Okay. So we have on the guy side of the formula ttf. I bring it up a lot because it matters. Not one guy, it's ever disagreed with me. Tell me, using words, that I'm the man. Right. So said desire. All guys want this. It's the same thing girls want. It's different, though. Guys also want to be touched. Yep. Because I worked with the girls and warrior. Warrior woman. And we figured it out. Guys want to be touched. Right. Like, this is like the things we were talking about with you. Like, you are not the best at words of affirmation for a long time in our marriage. So, like, telling me. I remember you even telling me at times, I don't want to tell you your ego's already big enough.
I never said that.
You said that.
Okay, you never said that, but I love you put words in my mouth.
Okay, well, you've said that exact statement to me in the past. You haven't said it recently. In the past. You've said it, Isaac. When we would fight about it. Even, like, back in that spring when things turned into, you know, our 2023 battle where you confronted me with what your truth was, which was sparked by.
Here's what I think I realized that I was so irritated at you back then is you want to know what I'm remember? So I'll just go back. Like, when I was like, okay, I'm. At that point, I was making you dinner every night. I was taking care of the kids. I was working on my own business. I was working on my personal development. Like, I was like, I'm like the wife of the century. I'm like. And then I remember it was the beginning of the year, and we sat down for dinner, and you're like, you know what I need from you? And I was like, thinking, like, what does he need? Like, I am like, super woman. Like, it's like, what does he need from me? And you're like, I really want words of validation. And. And to me, the reason I got so irritated, I was like, so there's no thank you for everything that I'm doing? And you just told me you need more words of validation. But I don't get any words of validation. I don't get a thank you. I don't get anything but a slap in the ass and let's go fuck. I'm like, I lost my shit. I was like, absolutely fucking not like, you don't see me. You don't see me. You just asked me for more words of validation, but you didn't praise me for anything that I've done for you, for our family and for myself. And I was like, oh, no, it's going to get ugly.
You've just unlocked the formula. Okay, so watch this. This is fucking crazy. Watch this. Tell me woman side. See me. Okay, tell me. See me.
See me look like for a woman.
You just explained it. See me. You didn't feel seen. Now just watch how this thing plays out. Touch me, which was intimately touch me. So you started doing that before you were doing words. So you had started making an effort, put your hand on my leg, touch me, et cetera, and fuck me. You had made an effort. You'd put on your lingerie, you did strip teases, you were dancing, you were doing amazing things. Right? So fuck me was being handled. Touch me was being handled. Tell me was not being handled. Okay, now flip the script. The girl version of this, which we are very proud of ourselves for figuring out the past two weeks.
I'm glad at least you were figuring it out with other women.
I was.
Imagine a bunch of men in the room, A bunch of men saying, let's.
Figure this out for women want. Let's think about it from a man's version. A. I'm not even going there. So then you say, okay, what is it? And I sat with like, Whitney Carnahan and Bri Gentry and Ali Scott and Carlos Andoval and a few of our other girls. And I said, okay, what is it? What is the girl version? And it is Simi. See? Safe, secure.
Safe and secure. The same thing.
No, they're not. Secure is financially stable. Okay, I feel protected. I feel protected. I feel emotionally and financially protected. I feel secure. Safe is safe in my emotions. I'm safe with you in who I am to tell you things, right? And see me. I want you to see all of me. So here's the motherfucker of the whole thing. If a guy's being fucked and a girl's being secure and a guy's being touched and a girl's girl's feeling safe, but the guy doesn't feel hear the words of, you're the man. And a girl doesn't feel seen, they'll still burn it to the ground.
How do you. How does a woman feel seen?
What does that look like you're asking? A penis? How woman feel seen? So how about you answer that question?
I said, you came up with that?
No, no.
What did the girl say?
Yep, that's what we came down to. And all came down to time. Time and appreciation for who that woman is, specifically that girls all came down to time. Now a couple of girls were like, listen, I'm more of a TTF girl. And I said, that's because you're in your masculine. You're producing. So if you're in your masculine, producing masculine energy, wants to be told, you're the fucking man.
Yeah. If they're the provider, they want to feel the same.
I'm the provider. So if I'm a woman, I'm a primary income earner, they want to be told, thank you, you're the woman.
I still, I'm not the primary income earner. But there's been times where you, you make me feel like it's like, well, you're not the primary income earner, so you don't matter. I'm like, do you know how much I make for a stay at home mom with my kids because I built my businesses this way? And then the comment goes back to like, well, I helped you do that. I'm like, I'm gonna lose my shit right now. Because I'm like, I feel like still I.
So do you what I would like.
To be at the same time, although I'm not like, I'm very much in mom feminine mode right now, I very much still, because I do contribute not a little bit, but a good chunk of cash every month. Like not like hobby money, like good chunk of cash.
Yeah, 100,000 plus a month.
I would love to just be like, hey, thanks for contributing to the family and also being home with our children or also doing whatever.
So you want words? You want tell me as a producer. So watch what happens. Your economic drive drives the masculine side of desire, which is masculine energy, wants to be told, good fucking job. Wants to be touched physically and wants to be fucked.
So what if? What if?
And the feminine side wants to be seen for the beauty of who they are at the soul, which is what your complaint was to me last spring. You don't see me. And so here's the fucked up piece about this though, okay? So here's how affairs happen without. And it proves this fucking model proves it with a zero shadow of a doubt. Watch this you go out. You and I tonight, we go out, both of us. We say I'm done with you. You're done with me. Good luck. Wish you the best. You go up to la, you go to the clubs, you go out with your girlfriends, you go do whatever you will be. But watch you go out, you would not have a clue about the guys you meet, about him making you feel secure. None. You wouldn't have a clue about whether this guy make you safe because you don't have enough time with them to feel emotionally safe.
Cars and watches.
Yeah, but all you're wanting to get is seen.
Not necessarily.
Yes, but watch in the moment for, for the following. I'm not talking about long term relationship and women in that environment will be seen and will that guy but with their husband who they expect secure and safe from will withhold sex from the husband.
I hear you. I vastly disagree with what I feel like I'm a pretty high caliber woman.
I agree.
And I would never go to a bar and just because the hottie with a body thought I saw me would go him, I'm like, sorry, I'm just not that easy. So for me I would not do that. And I would actually want to get to know the person. And then if they, if I feel like this is maybe somebody high caliber that I would date, I would still want to see some evidence that he was somewhat of a producer so that I could feel safe and secure. But I, I, maybe some girls could do that. Most girls, I disagree.
This prove this is proven all the time in divorce. We watch happen. We watch happen. This even came up with like this even came up in conversation with all my clients from women who were in acknowledgment saying, yeah, in my relationship I had all this scarring and all this history with this person. The minute I didn't have that as a condition, you stopped looking for it. As much like there was, there's, it's not that it's not there. It said it's less important because the thing you aren't getting was being seen by me. So this is why when, but think about this. When a woman feels seen more than anything seen for who she is, no history, no baggage, gets to be seen for who she is. A human being that feels seen for who they are right now, it's the most beautiful feeling in the world. You feel so acknowledged. Why someone can give you a compliment or can feed you a compliment and you're like whoa. And everything else, although important goes to the background.
What if, okay, so then what if you take. Because like I said, I'm more in my feminine season right now. But I still built some things and had a lot of hustle years where it was more in my masculine. So I feel like I what if. And I feel like you actually have a very feminine side to you too. So I would say because you're a trainer and a coach and there's this piece of you that almost has to be not soft, but you have to be in a different empathetic.
Empathetic sort however you want to.
But so then if you have somebody like me who's been in her alpha, who's been a producer but also a mother and I still. Then I need all those six things. Maybe I need all of those six things.
And of the six things. Tell me.
But then it's like the six things.
Yeah, but you can top priority in the 60s. Here's the.
If you go to the bottom love languages.
What do we fight about? You were upset that a woman who does not feel financially secure is going to have a difficult time telling a guy you're the man.
Sorry, say that again.
A girl who is not feeling secure, her husband cannot predictably make money at the bottom of her scale. She is not going to tell him he's the man as easily because in her she's feeling shaken in her security. A woman who is not feeling safe, which means she's in a reactive relationship where she can't get her feelings out or she can't express her truth or her feelings. It's not safe to express truth. Going to be difficult to tell that man or touch that man. If a woman is not feeling seen, going to be tough to tell him touch him or fuck him. The hierarchy at the top of this people can endure. If you're feeling seen, this could be a book, but not fucking.
It's like the six language or feelings.
Yeah, well, that's why I'm even saying I if you look at. I watch what's happening to marriages are getting in divorce and what people are doing. We have family members who got divorced when fuck seven different guys in the first 12 months. We have people in our world right now, women, women who get divorced and go fuck on a rampage. But they were withholding from their husbands because they didn't feel seen. But the minute they felt seen by some guy they only knew for two days. I'm not easy. I only fuck on the third date. What do you actually know about somebody in three days? Nothing. But you with this guy for 10 years or 15 years or 20 years you won't put out there because you have all this scarring around security and safety. He's feeling all this scarring over not being fucked, not being touched. So he's having a hard time seeing her, she's having a hard time seeing him. Neither one of being seen. All right, so you're a man, you love God, and here you are on the datey podcast listening to the conversations Danielle and I have. Listen. We have a men's Bible study, free, available for you, found@warriormensbiblestudy.com this happens every single week with thousands of men from around the world. No strings attached. It could be a book because I. That. What's the one book that we. Forever ago we read?
Love Language Languages.
What is it, six or five or something?
This is called the Sexy six.
No, what I'm saying is, like, even the love languages, I'm like, well, I need all those things, but I prioritize what's the most important for me.
Which is why. Because you used to say you weren't words of affirmation care.
No, I am, but it's not. I don't need it. Like, you need it. Like, if you're like, oh, you look hot, or, hey, thanks for doing this. I'm like, oh, thanks, you know, but I.
But as a producer, you do.
Well, here's what I realized today. No, here's what I.
It's a masculine trait.
It probably is to be told. It probably is. Because today I was like. I woke up and was coordinating kids with Heather. And anyways, I'm like, I go in. Well, I'm just going to share this because everyone will laugh. I'm like, I go to find my dream. No, I'm not. No, this is, like something that you are very messy. Maybe not all men are messy, but there's like, you're.
There's. Most CD guys are pretty clean.
Yeah, but you're not one of those guys. So I'm, like, going to brush my teeth and, like, my face, like, smeared. I'm like, where's my toothbrush? And there's your little wrappers from the denture cleaner. Things, like. And I'm like, I'm literally thinking, there's 14 wrappers on the counter. There's a garbage literally right underneath where the Wrappers are sitting. And then I go down to your closet, and I'm putting. Getting all the laundry ready. And I was like, what in the shit show is down here? And I. I don't care. I just pack it up.
I do care.
No, it does drive me.
You just said you don't care.
But I'm also like, choose your battles. And choose your battles. Choose your paddles. He played with the kids. I literally was like, he played. You know what? I'm actually more happy that he played with the kids and he took them to the bouncy houses and he went all in with his kids this weekend. So I had a moment, a female moment, where I was like, I could literally yell at him or get mad about these damn rappers. Although it'd be nice if you made a conscious effort to put them in the garbage.
I love how quickly women just lose their over the stupidest.
But here's the flip side. I was like, if you knew this upset your wife so much, wouldn't you just be like, oh, my wife won't like this?
And it's exactly the guys think about blowjobs. If you knew you could get access to the magic kingdom by just playing with a lollipop.
And you know what? Last night, you wouldn't. Okay, you know what? I do know that power as a woman. I can promise you. I know that power because even last.
Night don't even have an easy button like that. I know, but you can show your tits. You distract me. I don't even know what the I'm thinking anymore. I can't show you anything to distract you like this.
More. More so than I used to. Like, even last night, we're putting the kids to bed. We don't have a nanny. I'm like, I literally put the kids in their bed because I was like, if we both try to do bedtime, it's gonna. We're gonna fall asleep, and then we're gonna be too tired and not gonna happen. So I literally came to you, and I do this a lot, ladies. I do this a lot. I'm very proactive. Like, the kids are in the crib. We have probably three minutes. Let's go upstairs. And you're like, okay. So I know you did great. You know, I'm just saying, I know.
Your rappers were last night.
I know that that is an easy button. And I had no desire to have sex. Have sex in that moment, but I knew what it would do for you, and I knew you would wake up in the morning and be like, love you and your energy is different, so I don't care. I try to hit that easy button as often as I can, especially if I'm traveling or if you're traveling. I try to make, like, an effort to be like, even if we have the kids. Or I'm like, let's go fuck in the shower. So I understand that more than anything now. Now. But what I'm saying is I was just making the comparison of, like, I was. I was irritated about the garbage and this and that. I'm like, why does that irritate me so bad?
Why does it.
It's a woman thing. I don't. Because we were like, it's like. It just is a woman thing. We're like, he does. He doesn't see it. Like, he doesn't make an effort or, like, with the waffles, like, it. I. It was just like, I'm like. I had showed you. I'm like, let me show you how to make this a little.
Marriage almost ended over waffles.
Did.
Because, ladies, you were screaming so loud. And we almost had divorce as a conversation over waffles.
So every Sunday, he makes waffles. That's great. I actually started this tradition with their kids, but I also do most of the dishes on the weekend and keep the house cleaned up and picked up. And anyway, so I started making waffles. I found this sneaky way to do it where it's very. It's not messy at all. It's really quick. But when Garrett makes waffles, you're like, was it Sunday brunch? Was it. Did you have, like, 12 kids over? Like, what happened? And I. So I'd come down and. And instead of saying, thanks for letting me sleep in, babe. I love you. Looks like you're having fun with the kids. I couldn't see anything but waffle batter. And I. And immediately my brain is like, when. Now I have to clean this up. Like, he's not going to do it.
I didn't think once this was so up about, though. You didn't think for one second the two extra hours you slept on Sunday while I covered the kids.
No, that's what I'm saying. My brain automatically.
Mind of a woman. Hey, this is why guys get. This is why guys get to place. They're like, oh, hold up, hold up, hold up. I just let you sleep in for two hours. I watched the children, and they wanted to have fun making waffles. And the first thing you say when you come down is, you're so inconsiderate. I can't believe it. I've told you how many. Oh, the worst part is you'll try to tell me how to make waffles. That's not. Your waffles aren't even fluffy. I'm like, listen, bitch, I don't care what the hell you're talking about right now. I want to make these fucking waffles the way I want to make them. They're not even. You could make them fluffier. I'm like, did you fucking just say I could make them fluffier? We're happy with how hard and thick these are. We, like, unleavened fucking waffles.
Chewy waffles.
Stop telling me how to make my waffles. I read the instructions right off the bat.
Yeah, but did you.
But did you put the vanilla and did you know if you do this.
If you just whip it like this.
And add a little something to be smoother. You don't even eat these. You don't even eat carbs. What the fuck? Are we talking about this boy right now?
Okay, well, you know where the kicker got me? This is why I got so mad at the waffles. This is why I got so mad, okay? Because I. I was like, he doesn't see it. Like, it's. I. It's okay. So I'm like, hey, babe. I was like, let me just show you how I do it. I didn't even care if you made them fluffier. I just was, like, thinking about the masterly. I'm like, if you grab this little dish and just pour it directly in there, you don't have to use the whole batters and the beaters and you stick it in the dishwasher. It's so easy. So. So the fact that I showed you and then I kept waking up every Sunday to a shit show. I was like, he doesn't fucking care. He does. He's deliberately now being like, I'll show you how I make fucking waffles.
This is like you having a dream of me having an affair, and then you wake up, and then you're angry at me for cheating on you.
I was not seen because I showed you how to make it less messy. I'm even okay cleaning it up. But if I clean it up, I'm.
Makes you feel not seen.
Yes.
If you show me how to do something and then you don't do it.
Yes. If I tell you, I'm like, this is really bothering me. And then you. And I even show you how to make it easier and It's a just a disregard of, like, I don't give a. I'm going to make it the how however I want.
It's exactly how guys feel about sex when they describe to their wives what they want.
That's fine. And I was just put out to know the easy button for men and more than I used to.
There's so many easy. But there's so many buttons you girls require, though, it's unfair. We got like, one button. Okay, well, I'm just saying one button you can push. Girls don't have one button. Girls and their buttons are changing.
Do men that are like, the high producing men.
Yeah.
Is it almost like it's out of their pay grade? They're like, I do not care.
No. It's because they're dealing with a lot of. No, but like, exponentially bigger than, like, if.
If I tell you about the waffles, that it genuinely bothers my soul at a deep level. And then the minute and then because you don't agree with it, you're like, fudge, you'll do what I want. Like, I'm just. No, I'm just wondering if that's like an ego thing. If it's like a high producing thing. I'm like, really wondering, like, if I'm like, if it doesn't hurt my feelings. It does drive me nuts. But if I'm like, hey, I really would appreciate if you just made it in this dish.
You didn't do that, though. You came down, tried to coach me.
Okay.
And tell me my waffles were not fluffy enough. And then you got angry about it.
No. Either.
You don't get angry about when I said I didn't ask for your feedback on my waffles.
There was one time I came down, I'm like, hey, I'm like, I love this, but let me just show you an easier way to do it.
And that's your passive aggressive way of saying, please don't make a mess. You didn't say, please don't make a mess. You said, here's a better way to do it.
And I'm like, I was showing you.
That'S a better way. But I want to do it that way because the kids like to do it this way.
Way.
And then you get upset. And the other part is too, is you would come to clean up the waffles before we were even done. It's like not even giving us a chance. We're still in the process eating our hard, heavy waffles.
Here's what I left you're already trying.
To clean it up.
This was so wrong because you would be like, I'll clean it up, I'll clean it up. And so I'm like, I'm going to give him an opportunity to clean it up. Cuz he said he would.
I did. I didn't put a time frame on.
It and I did not put a time frame. 3 o' clock.
And I'm like, oh my God, 3.
O' clock when I need the kitchen clean because I got to make dinner in the morning.
You are already are cleaning.
Nope. I always give you an opportunity by 3 o'. Clock. I'm like, I guess I'll do it because I have to have a clean kitchen before I actually cook dinner.
So you're telling me you've allowed the waffle to sit on the counter till 3.15pm?
It drove me nuts. The whole day I'm thinking about waffle.
Batter and I'm like, hey, I got a little something in my pocket.
Get a chance.
It's called stop lying. You have never once let it go till 3.15pm you couldn't even stand your life. You'd kill yourself. Your OCD kicks in, 15 seconds after you get down, you start cleaning up.
That's not true.
Here's the thing though. Like, so take this little simple thing right here as, as a, as a dad who's worked hard all week and then the first thing his wife, whose little sleeping beauty wakes up, wants to talk about and start a fight about on Sunday morning is waffle mix. While I've now covered the girls for two hours, made breakfast and had a great time making waffles with the girls. And we're now in the swimming pool, swimming at 8:15 in the morning. And all I get to hear from my wife is how rude I am for making a mess in the kitchen.
Sleeping Beauty, you actually, you haven't made them in the bowl. You finally started making them in a little cup like you haven't made them in the bowl in a long time. And I was like, huh? I was like, oh. And to me, when I come down, I'm like, oh, that was nice. He finally was making it in the bowl.
Hmm.
That's all I was thinking. I was like, oh, that's nice.
This is all the stupid shit that people argue about though. It's fucking retarded.
I know. You end marriages over waffles.
Yeah, for sure. Out of the waffles. You get too many waffle episodes, you're at the divorce table. So like, legitimately though, I think that inherently, if compliments had preceded the criticism, it would have been received better. Hey, babe. Thank you so much. No, imagine a situation. Let me finish. Imagine a situation. You come downstairs, you walk up to me, you place your hands on my face. Touch you, then tell me, babe, thank you so much for covering this morning. I had a little much tequila last night. I needed to sleep a little longer. Thank you for watching our girls. Thank you for loving our daughters. Thank you for making waffles this morning with them. I know how much they love it. Thank you for all that you do here this morning with the kids. Also, can I ask you a favor? Reach hand down, grab my balls with the kids. Rub me for a little bit with the kids. Like three seconds. Yep. And then say if you could do me a favor and make them in the small waffle container, that way they're not as messy, I would really appreciate it. And then you just rub, like, two, three strokes. Just two, three strokes in the squash. Well, let's go through it.
How does it go?
I walk up to you. I place my hands on your cheeks.
My love language is not that. So if I'm downstairs making waffles.
Okay, first off, I'm never complaining about the waffles and how they're made. So next.
But I don't need you to come in and, like, grope me.
Okay, so fill me up. Let's think of. Well, let's think of a waffle situation where they come at you. Yeah.
So I'm like, okay, that's easy. And actually, I've been doing that lately. Have you noticed that? I just, like, come up if you're stressed, and I'll, like, grab your face or, like.
I know I asked you to do that. Just, like, the waffle.
I've been trying to kind of, like, let that go. I've been doing the. I've been doing the soft grabs, you know.
Yeah.
In front of the kids. But, you know.
Well, last night, you didn't even lock the door. I didn't even get a finish. The worst.
I asked.
You didn't even finish the story about coming home from being gone.
I didn't get a finish. Made an effort. And then our daughter literally didn't even shut the door.
You didn't even shut it. It was wide open.
You were the last one.
Oh, my God. You were. I was laying there. You said, hey, go in there and get ready.
Is offering to have sex. Your job is to make sure the door is locked. You're like, okay, you told me to.
Go lay down and get ready. So I went and laid down and I started getting ready. I'm assuming you had this on lock, just like you assumed I had the waffles cleaned.
Hey.
Then we're in the middle. Sheets are off, blankets are off, asses are in the air. We are on it. And then.
Ask this later. I'll ask this later. And then I was like, oh, he's done. He's tapped out. But I. You know, our five year old did walk in on us.
We had a five year old walk in right on us.
We still hadn't had sex in like three days. And I was like, he could. No. Okay. So we had to end it and put the kids to bed, sadly. But I did make the effort. And I didn't realize. I didn't lock the door. She was in the crib. I was like, I don't think she's gonna climb.
She's five.
I know. But I didn't.
She could climb out anything.
You don't know why I.
You thought a five year old's gonna stay stuck in a crib?
No, I'm confident that I just didn't think about it. So I know now.
So is there a piece in your mind that thinks I shouldn't let my husband go to bed with blue balls?
Is there a piece in my mind?
Yeah. Do you know what blue balls are?
Yeah.
What are blue balls?
Your nuts hurt? I don't know.
Yeah. And why do your nuts hurt?
Because they're so full of little baby semens.
They're full of. They're full of love juice. That got halfway down the halfway.
It's like a bunch of packages at some level, if you have blue balls. But my needs weren't being met. I'm like, are you upset that I have to go to bed feeling unseen?
Did you feel unseen last night after going on a girl's weekend and partying in your pajamas, drinking champagne while I covered the kids?
Did you want to have sex again?
We didn't even finish. Oh, it was like halftime.
I thought you just wanted to cuddle.
Oh, my God. I never want to cuddle.
If I have time, probably use your words and be like, babe, can we finish this up?
You were cuddled up with your dog.
You should probably again use your words in the bedroom. Hey, babe, would you like to finish this up? Then I would be like, sure. Can you put the dog somewhere that's not right between us?
That's it. The dog's out of the room. Okay, well, but it doesn't cross your mind?
It. No I just told you there's been times. I know you're, like, super, super horny, and I'm really, really tired, and I didn't feel seen that day. And I'm like, you can go to bed with blue balls and then we'll work on being seen tomorrow and I'll fuck him later. So.
So when does it cross the line where you fuck and then you're seen?
Well, here's the thing. I'm saying I cross the line a lot. I do cross the line. There's times I'm like, I really don't want to have sex. I don't care right now. I have too much going on in my mind. I don't want to have sex. And I'm like, he really needs it. Even if I haven't been seen, I'm just like, it's fine. Like, I'm like, it's fine. Come here. Like. And I don't just. I feel like I put a little effort into it. I'm not just, like, hanging out. Like, I. Even if I'm playing the role I'm playing, I'm playing a good role. Even if it's a quick one, I'm playing it.
I'm not just, you know, how do you be seen?
How do you be seen?
How do you. Danielle K. White. How are you, man?
I guess.
Okay, so what does that mean?
I would just say prioritizing, like, down the list. Like, how you just know.
How would you be seen? Like, how would I know at the end of the day my wife had been seen? I would say, like, what is the signal of scene? So tell me.
I'm big on time. I, like. Like, it's hard for me to feel connected to you if we didn't, like. Like, I love our walks on the weekend and, like, hanging out and, like, I love our date nights and. But it's. It's almost.
It seems like even with those, though, you don't feel seen. There's times where we've done. We've done the whole checklist.
There's no. There's.
You still don't feel seen.
There's times where we're so busy that we're literally, like, both mentally somewhere else. And it's very much like a partnership. And I am like. So I have to make, like, conscious efforts to have, like, really good conversations with you. And one of the things that I. Like, this is one thing I love that you do. Actually, I'll tell you, I love when, like, I got home yesterday and you're like, tell me all about the event. I love when there's time.
So you did feel seen yesterday.
Yeah. But I love when there's also times when you come home from work and I know you're so exhausted too, and you're like, let's go upstairs and talk. And then you immediately make it about me. You're like, tell me about your day. And I'm like, oh, okay. Even if I'm like, so and so is a crazy bitch. And like, I like that you are, like, you are making an effort to just literally ask me, like, what happened today? And even yesterday, you could. I could tell. You were like, tell me more. Tell me more. And I really appreciate the effort of you doing that. And the other thing that I like is in the past, when I would tell you about things, you would kind of almost like, I want to share, and you immediately want to fix the problem. And I'm like, I'm just telling you I like how this went. I don't need you to fix anything. I'm talking to you about a woman's event. There's nothing. I'm just telling you my feedback on this event. There's nothing that needs to be fixed in this situation. So I like that you hold space to just, like, listen. And like, that's awesome. And like, oh, thanks, babe. And if anything, you cheerleaded me. You're like, do you know how after I shared, I was like, I don't know if I could do this and that and that. And you're like, yes, you could. And it was like, you came back and you're like, yes, you could. Instead of, like, feeling like, well, this, because this and this is not working. That's why that's happening. It was almost like, yes, you can. Because I often feel like there's a lot of social media cheerleading for me, but in the home, often I don't feel cheerleaded. So that's one thing that you did specifically last night, that I was like, oh, thanks, bim. And in turn, like I said, I think that's probably one of the reasons I was like, I'm really tired. We got the kids. I'm like, okay, gotta have sex, gotta have sex. It was me then being like, I. I know he needs this. And I was trying to create the conditions and even came at you and was like, come on, I got the kids. We're gone. We're going right now. So I think it's like, like, if I hadn't felt seen and you were just kind of standoffish, I probably, like, I'M going to bed early. Like, you got one, kid. I got one. Bye.
So this is a tricky box because, like, in the end of the day, like, because what would be ideal is that I desire to have you seen, and you desire me to be fucked.
Marriage does not work that way. Everybody thinks it's going to be effortless.
No, no, no. I didn't say effortless. I said that there was a desire.
But that's what I'm saying. It's like a desire to natural. It's not. I'm telling you right now, The. The people that I talk to that have successful marriages, it's because they see what the other person needs and they cross the line. They make a conscious effort to do it for the other person, and then, in turn, their needs are met.
So, like, most.
There's not a flow. It's. It's not a flow. It becomes a flow when you're like, oh, he needs this. Or, like, he's being like. One of the things I'm trying to work on, too, is, like, when you're being very reactive, I'm like, I just need to come in and grab his face. Or I just need to, like, diffuse the energy on his reactiveness. So. But it's like, I have before I used to, and I still am working on it. Before, I'd be naturally just, like, triggered. Like, I think about the situation with Bailey where she's throwing a sandwich, and you're like, I'm gonna slap the. In the face. I would have been like, you're not gonna slap my daughter in the face. What the are you saying? Like, you're nuts. Like, I didn't want to react on that. I just wanted to come in and be like, hey. And even with Bailey.
Yeah, you've improved.
Even Bailey is so hard not to react with. But I've noticed with Bailey, I'm like, I can't. She's so much like you. And if I go level of energy, it. Nothing happens. I'm like, I can't meet you there right now. I have to, like, meet you here. And then it's like, calm down. Okay? Everything's good. But I realized. I feel like that's why we're married. I'm like, there's been times. I'm like, why? We're so freaking, like, different. And I'm like, there's been times. I'm sure we've shared this before. We're like, am I married to the wrong person? And then I'm like, or maybe I'm married to the Right person and the way I interact, if I can figure it out and he can figure it out for me. You push me to grow with your fire. I don't know if I would be the successful woman I am today without you. I don't believe I would be. And so it's like, but. So there's this piece where I'm like, but then am I called to kind of, like, ground you down? Like, bring. You're so powerful. That's like, maybe we've just got to figure out how to work well for each other to be the most powerful couple.
So imagine, like, a world where I was focused on making sure you feel seen, making sure you feel safe, making sure you feel secure, and you were making sure I feel told, touched.
And do men not want to feel safe in their relationship?
Not at the cost of being. Not being fucked. Being fucked is part of feeling secure.
But there's been times you have wanted to share your feelings with me and told me you didn't feel safe sharing your feelings.
Oh, yeah. It's because it's not safe most of the time.
But how could women help their men, these alpha men, feel safe?
I don't know if you women actually want to hear.
I know you say that, but, like, I actually, there's been times when you share stuff that then my guards almost let down, and I'm like, yeah, please let me play that feminine role and protect your heart. Like, why don't you. Like, not all the time. Because we don't. Like, if it's, like, kind of whiny and pouty, we're like, now she's being kind of a. But, like, if you're being like. If you're being like. If you come to us and you're like, hey, I'm super stressed with work, and you're just very vulnerable. Not pouty, but very vulnerable. And. And communicating in a way where you're like, I'm stressed. The woman will support her man.
I don't know. I think it's going to be received as weakness.
You say that, but have you tried it?
Yeah. I remember driving down the road with you, and I was feeling incredible financial stress in 2023. And I said, I'm feeling so overwhelmed about so many financial decisions have to be made at once. And your response was, that's your job. Handle it. And I was like, not safe to talk here.
You definitely. You definitely didn't share it that way.
I did. I did share it that way. So I'm saying is, like, there's a Lot of things. You've improved in the last 12 months. Me too. And for a lot part of our marriage, like, that was not the case. It was not safe to emotionally talk to you because you couldn't emotionally talk to me. You remember 18 months ago to 24 months ago is the first time you emotionally started being honest with. With me. Like, you weren't really emotionally honest with me before. I'd seen you cry five times in, like, 10, 20 years.
I think that I kind of got to this place where I'm like.
Like, you wouldn't share. You never shared your truth with me. You would share your anger, but not your vulnerable truth with me. And maybe I wasn't safe enough.
And so I don't think. Because you're very reactive with things. And then sometimes when I would share and women, when they tend to share, it seems like venting. And men are very much like problem solvers. And so then we feel, like, shut down and attack. Like, I was just sharing this, and now I'm, like, doing things wrong. So I. I don't think. And you didn't know you were doing that. It could have been a conversation in business that I just wanted to talk to you as, like, not my business partner, as just my lover and my husband. And then I felt like I was getting feedback that I didn't ask for, and I was like.
Like the waffles.
Sure. But it goes both ways, I have to say. Like, for a woman, like, I can relate to both sides of the table.
That's why I'm. That's why I'm saying you're a producing woman because you have access to. To your masculine.
Yeah.
Producing women outside the home have access to masculine energy, which means at a certain level, you want to be told you're the woman. You want to be touched.
So guess what? You married a woman who wants it all.
Yeah. And you just bipolarly flip back and forth. That was a hard part in business because you would be masculine with me, and then when I would come in with masculine solutions, you would flip the card on me and go to feminine wife and be like, I just wanted you to listen to my feelings. And then on the flip side, you're like this bitch. Da, da, da, da. And I can't believe these people. And I was like, yeah, I'm gonna fucking kill her. I don't need you to kill anybody. I need you to just listen to the. And listen to my pain. And I'm like, I know you didn't say that. You were starting the conversation like, A dude with me. You were talking like, dude shit. And I was like, all right, let's fuck him up. What are we doing? Let's. I'll fucking kill her right now. You're like, I didn't ask you to do that. Why do you always have to put, problem solved, I'm your wife. And then five seconds later, business partner, five seconds later, wife. I never flip that switch on you. Not one time in our relationship have I ever gone, you can't talk to me that way. I'm your husband.
Cuz you're a dude.
I'm your husband.
You're a dude.
I have feminine feelings too. I'm your husband. I just wanted to listen.
No, but men get pouty. Men get pouty and women know exactly what I'm talking about.
Well, men get pouty and women turn into cold men.
Men get pouty and.
Yeah, men do. They for sure do. No, no.
Show her.
Exactly. We got the greatest strategy of all time for showing your woman who is the boss. Here's how it goes. Not getting laid. Just go to the pouty prisoner. Here's how it looks.
Oh, I know.
You think in your mind. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. You know what? You're not getting any of this D. For a long time I'm gonna hold out. And then about four or five days into said strategy of stonewalling and putting your in a cage and saying she's not getting any, you start to realize you put yourself in a prison.
Yeah.
Then you're like, oh, yeah, how do.
You get yourself out of the prison? Here's the thing. Because then you have to go, hit her buttons. You got to go. It's. Hit her easy button. Her love language.
What is your easy button?
I just told you.
It's a goddamn matrix. It's a complicated code that changes formulas.
Literally.
Just like, it's like a lock on a vault that the code changes every day. Ours is easy. One, two, three, enter.
Yeah, but you know what? Women don't want to just have sex with their men.
Enter.
They don't want to just have sex with their men. Like, there's like, they want more than that. They're like, hey, if my needs are not being met, but if our needs are being met, then we want to have sex.
I know. That's the fucked up thing, though. Like, look at it. A guy.
Why is it messed up? God knew what he was doing when he designed us. It's our job to figure it out.
He perfectly fucked us up. Here's how it Looks. If a guy is being fucked, touched, and talked to, the natural desire is to want to provide security, safety, and for her to be seen. We're the best listeners ever post orgasm prior to. We're just thinking about one thing. Can I not, please?
But I know that when you know.
That you are open, you're like, you could sit and you could talk to me for two, two straight hours, and I would just smile at you. I'd be like, yeah, babe, that's so great.
I know. Here's so here. I'm going to give the men and women listening to this a tip.
So just going to give him a tip.
I'm going to give him a tip.
How are you going to give him a tip?
Are you going to listen? I'll give you a tip. I'll give you a tip.
I don't want a tip. It's called pegging. I'm not interested.
Shut up. Okay, here are my two tips in marriage. Okay? We're going to just start there. If your husband's been on a vacation or working really hard, or if you're going on a vacation, find a way, even if you have kids, to go blow his mind out for a minute. Like, just have sex with him. Do that. Now, guys, on the flip side, if you had a stressful day or if your wife had a stressful day, there's some days where you, it's your turn, it's your turn. You're like, oh, I had a really rough day. So you're gonna sit her down, you're gonna go put the kids in front of a movie, whatever it is, and you're just gonna take 15 minutes and you're gonna be like, hey, babe, tell me about your day. If those two things are being done simultaneously, the guy is getting laid and the woman's just having those short conversations at some levels, being seen. Even if she. All she did that day was go to Target, wash her hair and pick up the kids all day, she still wants to tell you about how awesome her curls are. She still wants to talk to you about the shit show of the kids at Target. So if you take that time, like, like I said, 10, 15 minutes. Great. And then the same thing, 10 minutes for the guy in the bedroom. Same thing. So I would say that it's almost like crossing the other one's needs first right out of the gate. It's like before you get in an argument, before you talk about the garbage, before you talk the show, it's like, you know it's gonna help us both Just like. Like, not care about the waffle stains or not care about. This is if, like, you come and have these. Because the house was messy yesterday when I came home, when I meet you, it was like. And when you sat down and we're like, hey. And asked me about my day, I didn't clean the kitchen. The only thing I did was like, hey, I just want to, like, unpack my bag. Normally, if that had not happened, I would have just gone straight to the dishes. Even if I was so tired after coming back from a trip or whatever, I would just gone straight to the dishes and been irritated. But the dishes were messy because you sat me down and asked me about the event. How was my day? And you genuinely seem like you cared. All of a sudden I was like, you know what? Heather can clean this up tomorrow.
You being seen as me having sex.
That's what I'm saying. So that's my two tips.
They're opposite ends of the spectrum. Scene at the top, sex at the top. Because, listen, I think we played it pretty well. I came home at lunch during my event on Friday, you were leaving to your flight to your event.
But we set that up. We set that up.
I know. I came home, we had amazing lunch, we hung out, we got naked, we had great sex. I then went back to my event, felt like Cloud 9. You got on your flight, you went to Arizona. You got to Arizona.
I got to Arizona.
And what was in your room?
Oh, yeah. And then there was, like, two dozen beautiful roses, and I forgot we had that here. Okay. So in other news, I have been feeling called to write.
What is this right here? I'll tell you what this is.
It's my book.
Your book? Where was this sitting? This isn't a real book, obviously. Sitting on the bed in your bedroom at the event. So you get to the event. You fucked me before you went. Good move. Then you got there, and there were two dozen roses and this sitting on your bed.
But it's those little things that couples are not doing, and then they hold resentment and all these things.
But what does that make you feel.
Like, honestly do it?
That was that, like, getting.
Yeah, I felt seen. It was like I was being seen.
Right.
I was like, cute at first. I was like, oh, flowers. I thought they were, like, just in the room. And then I was like, oh, no, these are from Garrett. And I. Then I walked around, I'm like, oh, that's cute.
So that was helping you feel seen? Yes, because it was supporting you in your mission.
Yeah.
Then I was sending you, pictures, updates for the whole time.
It was the effort. I was like, how did he pull this off? Like, there's like, we literally just planned this trip a week ago, and, like, there's this cute book cover. I'm like, how did he pull this off? So it was. I felt seen. Because you went out of your busy day in an event. I don't care how you coordinate it, but you thought of me, and you created something and you made it happen because a bit. Women like. Women like it when busy men, like, even if you're like, I pay for everything. We like when it takes effort to actually plan or do something, it's because.
It makes you feel seen at the top of the priority.
Yeah. Because you're like. Like I said, you're running an event, and you took time out of your day to do something that you. Your wife would think was cute. Yeah.
And then throughout the event, I was giving you updates to the girls pictures and your dogs so that you could feel calm because you told me you like that from Heather. So I was like, there you go. We weren't, like, haggling you. We weren't trying to track you down. Nothing. We just did our own thing and jammed out of our.
Did you guys have fun?
Yeah. And then you came back, and I sat and talked with you again right when you came through the door. My moves as a man made many women jealous.
I know.
And many women were angry, and many husbands got in trouble for my behaviors. So just, you know, top of the food chain at dinner and top of the food.
Chayor goes, so Jeff asks if Danielle is staying in the same hotel I am. And then she's like, and then I find out you get flowers. And he didn't think to give me flowers. I was like, jeff, way too cheap to send flowers.
Yeah. Some guys just don't even think about it. It's just not even a thing.
Yeah, but. But you know what, though? You used to not want to do things like that based on money, too. You'd be like, why would I spend $150 on flowers? I don't know how much they were, but, like, that's standard for that. Probably 250, to be honest. It was a really nice bouquet, but you didn't see the ROI in it. You didn't see the value in it. You were like, why? Why would I spe. 150 on flowers. I already sent her there. I already paid for her trip there. And so again, it goes back to. I'm thinking, like, through draft And Taylor, Jeff's probably, like, thinking, like, I just supported the kids.
Exactly what he said.
So. Know what I'm saying? But you go the little extra things. Girls expect that too.
But you know what? Those little extra things and then become normalized and become new. Shit becomes normal.
No, I always appreciate when you go out of your way to do things.
I don't know.
Okay.
Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't. I think you. I think everybody starts to kid, take things for granted.
Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Like, if you.
Me twice a day, every day, at some point I'd be like, I don't care anymore. I mean, it's not they don't care. It's just to become normal. So thanks.
Thanks for the book cover. I thought it was cute.
And it's probably a good one to end the show. Yeah, that was a good conversation. We found out the trifecta of insanity. Both sides of the coin. Tell me, touch me, me See me, save me don't you secure me don't.
You think, though, I'll just end with this, like, marriage? And our therapist brought this up, and he's like, people think that marriage is, like, harmonious and it's just easy, and love is easy. He's like, marriage is. It's not. He's like, it's work. And I think that the person you become, like, almost like, lets go of the ego a little bit, because all of a sudden, it's not just about you. It's about serving another person. And I think that women naturally kind of do that for their kids, but it's almost. It's like, not as easy to do it for our husbands.
I got a topic for our next show.
Okay. But I was just gonna say, like, I. I feel like we've grown immensely in the past, like, year and last.
Year, year and a half has been incredible.
And there's been some sticky spots, and there's been spots where I'm like, why are we doing this? And so I would just say, like, for anybody who feels like you're in the fight, stay in the fight, but commit to grow, commit to change, commit to evolve. Because otherwise you're just going to be tired and angry all the time.
We had at least six to eight, maybe nine moments in the last two years where it was questionable. We were at that point where it's like, we either go right or we go left. And each right led to a higher life and a bigger perspective and more happiness. But at any one of those, it could have been a go left and go, fuck yourself. For both of us. It's required both. That's why any couple I've seen where they won't continue to both choose right and one of them choose left, then it's over. And it's over. It fucking ends. Both people have to keep choosing to climb the mountain, otherwise the whole thing unravels. Yeah, okay. Well, that brings this show to a close. I mean, geez, we gave you a whole bunch of dialogue today. Worst case scenario, you're realizing that your wife's a psychopath when it comes to waffles on Sunday morning. So if that's the only thing you took from today's lesson, just remember they're always going to be crazy. Why? Because they are women. All right? That's it. We married them. We chose them. God gave them to us. As help meets in our next episode, we're going to ask maybe marriage was never supposed to be the way it is. Talk about this one next show.
