Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Date your Wife podcast. I'm your host, Danielle, with my husband Garrett, and we have two amazing special guests in our house today, Danielle and Jennifer. You guys, we are new to Miami, so we. I've started following you guys a little while ago, and your story is amazing. You guys run a business together. You're. Are you married? Officially?
We are.
You are. But you go by different last names.
We do.
You do. Hey, everybody. Everybody does their thing.
I like it.
We like social media, right? I think we were like, let's not. I really like my last name.
I didn't want to give it up. I didn't really like my last name. Nobody ever say it now that you come out.
I loved my last name. Don't take it from me. Some people keep their two names, though. They do. The first, they keep the name and the name, and then it's like a lot of names. Okay, so you in Miami. We come here. Here's a fun backstory. So I started following YouTube on social media, and I tend to not follow women. This is just not what I do. I just am in the man world to do my thing. So I start following you two. Like, two weeks ago, we're sitting there, and she grabs my phone and she opens up my Instagram, and there you two are in, like, bikinis. And she's like, what are you looking? I was like, no, no, no, that's Jen. She's coming on the show, like, two weeks. I promise I'm not just checking asses out on the Internet. No, she's right here. That. Do you remember this?
Yeah. I was like, oh, it just threw me off guard because he literally doesn't follow, like, hardly any women.
My team's like, you know, you're following two women or not.
I kind of love that, by the way.
Yeah, it's good.
Yeah.
Okay, so we're going to start off.
Love that he doesn't follow.
Yeah, yeah, I like it. I'm like, don't get distracted.
It's. We. We. We. Yeah, we had some situations, so they got handled. So how did you two meet? But start with this. Who saw who first? Because you got an interesting part of what you were sharing before we actually started the show, like, who's. Who saw who first.
It's kind of interesting because I was her client first. So I was living in Beverly Hills, and I had four dogs, and I was looking for a place to get them groomed and taken my big dogs. I had two Dobermans at the time to go to daycare. And this brand new, like two story, amazing facility opened up in the heart of Beverly Hills. And Danielle was the director of grooming there. And so when I came in to get my dogs groomed, Danielle was who came out to greet me.
Well, they called me. Yeah, to come out for you.
Yeah.
So I get a phone call in the back that we have the biggest retail shopper in the store. You have to take her on as a client. And I was just having a bad day and carrying on and I was like, I'm not taking any more clients. Like I have clientele that followed me over. I'm now managing like multiple locations. Like I cannot groom any more dogs. And I get.
But you don't understand.
So I came out and you had. Is this when you had Nico with the Yankee hat?
That's when I picked them up. Yeah, when I picked them up, when they were done, I had my then 6 month old son with like a yankee hat on. And I was there and she came out and she was like, so are you really from New York? Are you just like rocking the Yankee hat? And I was like, no, I'm actually from New York because this was now California.
People do that in California.
Yeah, for sure they do. For sure they do.
I need to know the real story.
But then she hugged me goodbye and then she walks out and I mean normal like client interaction, nothing strange. And then there was. It's like a two floor place. So all the guys ran down from upstairs and they're like, do you know who that is? And I'm like, Jennifer Stano. They're like, she's like a Coca Cola model. And like, I think they just blended everything they knew about her. And then they're like googling her like all. And I'm like like her, her photos like on all the computers at the front desk and everybody's going crazy and I'm like clueless. Just like, well, I don't know. It was a client. We hit it off. We're both from the same place and that was it.
And mind you, this was Beverly Hills, so like there's actual celebrity clients that like would go there. Sierra, you had Serena Williams. Like there's a lot of people, so it was just cute. But I remember when I saw Danielle and she came out, I've always kind of like noticed women. And so I feel like I looked at her and I was like, she's got like one side shaved at the time and her hair was flipped over and she has like this long, gorgeous like curly hair. And I was like, I don't know if she's gay. Like, I couldn't really tell, but she had a tongue ring. And I was like, any girl over like 25 with a tongue ring has to be gay. Like, I had a tongue ring when I was 18. Like, those.
Those days were sailed.
So is that true?
Is that a true statistic? Is that your experience?
Know that it was. I took it out now.
Just my.
She made sure. She's like, let me make sure no one else thinks.
Okay, so hold on, hold on, back up. So when you see. You don't know who she is, she's coming down. You see her for the first time. I know you're being professional. You got the professional on the outside. Was there a spark? Did you feel something at that point?
Not in that way.
Not in that way. So you were just too much business mode. I'm here to do business. I already deal with a whole lot of high end, beautiful people. Here we go. Here's another one.
Yeah.
And I assumed she was straight, right.
Because she had her son there. Was your son with you?
But she seems very. She seemed very straight. There was no, like, I don't have, like, a quality. She didn't have the quality. You know, usually no, like, I don't know, your nails were long. She was in heels. I'm like, yeah, I don't know. So.
Yeah.
So at that point, you notice her.
Yeah, so I noticed her because she was very beautiful. And I've never been hit on by a girl before, so, like, in my.
Entire straight, nobody would know.
Maybe.
Well, don't do anything about it now. But back then, someone would have, you know. Yeah.
Like, as young as seventh grade. I would always wonder, like, would girls, like, hit on me? Would girls think I'm pretty? Like, I had. I was like, bi curious is what like, I would have classified myself as because I just was curious. I didn't know. And I was open to it. And there was like, you know, girlfriends that, like, we'd make out to, like, turn on the boys. But then there was a group of girls that never did that, you know, so my only interaction after that was with a friend in college. And so besides that, I never really got hit on by girls. I never had a female relationship. I was always with men and just in relationships.
How did that work with you? So you have two.
I have two boys. So I met her when my first son was six months. I went through a lot of life before I ever reached out to her. Aside from like a professional, were you.
Married at the time when you met? I. I'm in a relationship.
I was in a relationship. So the father of my children, she likes to make sure that I clarify that even though we had a very big 300 person wedding and we called each other husband and wife, we never legally filed paperwork.
Oh, wow.
Which to me didn't matter until we separated. But anyways. Yeah.
Did you know that happened? That it didn't get filed?
I was aware. I thought we would have a second wedding in Greece because he's Greek and they usually do that and we just never did.
So.
Wow.
Never happened. And it was fine. I had two kids, we were in love and all the things were great until it wasn't great. But so then I had reached out to Danielle and was kind of like, oh, you know, I've been thinking about you. And just very random. One day. And we ended up talking for 7 hours over text and then phone. Like that night we had this at.
Night while we were in text. She's like, call me. I'm like, oh, God.
Because you guys had already been on like the two hour text exchange.
What? Seven hours. Seven hours.
You were seven hours of texting.
Seven hours of texting. And then she said, did you print off those texts? Oh, sex thing. I actually made her a book.
You printed off.
I printed them.
I was going to say, that's probably like 25 to 35 pages.
I'd like to publish it. I think it's a good read.
You know, when did this happen? How long you've known each other? When I was seven hour conversation.
So that was 2016. So I met her in 2014. Okay. And then had another baby. Went through all life. I traveled a lot, so anytime I was back, I'd see her and then.
Client relationship.
Yeah, yeah.
No talk outside. Yeah. She used to bring me gifts, which was not uncommon in Beverly Hills for clients. Like, I remember I had a. I was going away to Vegas for the weekend and she's like, oh, I own a swimwear line. Like, do you want any bathing suits? And I was like, yeah, bring me like whatever you want. Just nothing pink, you know. But I thought she would have come in with like a couple. She brought in like two dozen bikinis. I'm like giving them out to people, but I didn't think anything of it. And then I had it on and I took a photo and I was like showing my co workers and I'm like, should I send this to her? And they're like, no, that's so creepy. Don't do that. So I was like, oh, all right. Like, I won't. I won't send it. And then years later, she told me, like, she was so upset that I didn't send her a photo. Like, maybe I didn't like them. Like, she was wonderful. Yes.
Would you have wanted the bikini shot?
Yeah. I mean, if I did that to, like, any of my girlfriends, they would put it on, right.
Look how cute. And it wouldn't be weird. Yeah. You're just like, hey.
Okay, so the text exchange leads to the phone calls. The text exchange was seven hours long. How long was the phone calls?
So the phone call was not as long. But I was, you know, I had. My swag game was on. We were good. We were sexting. She said, call me. All of a sudden I'm up, pacing back and forth myself to get it together. Then I'm like, hello? I was so nervous. I'm like, I don't know what I'm going to say to this girl right now. After we just spoke on text for seven hours.
How did it lead up to that, though? Because were you in the relationship with your.
Yeah.
Your baby daddy?
So what? I. There's three main events that, like, I like to call main events that happened in our relationship with lots of little things trickled in between. And after the third time of me sort of catching him, I was just. I didn't even cry. I was kind of just like broken at that point. I was like, I just feel like my heart's open. But I had a one year old and a two year old and like, where was I going? What was I going to do? Sort of thing.
Heavy.
Yeah. So I think he always would joke around that I was bisexual, even though I only hooked up with one female before. And so I had asked him eventually, like, what do you think? Like, would you. How would you feel if I, like, saw what that was like with another female and he was like, as long as they don't have a dick, it's okay. And so it kind of like gave me that, like, permission, even though we had already talked on the phone, to like, pursue and see what this was.
So, okay, so the pursuit happens. So did you keep it together on the phone call?
Yeah, of course.
Oh, good.
I had to, but it took a lot.
Were you at that point, at that point, what was different about this exchange for you? Like, here you have a relationship that's now crossing over. Like, what. As you. As that first moment happens, you guys are like texting back and forth, texting back and forth. And now you're talking what started to shift in you of what you saw in her because you've kept the frame of professional. Here I am. This is who I am. We're here, and now we've crossed the line into this other place. What started changing in your feelings for her?
I felt it coming. The text message. And I think I told you that I was like. I actually, like, felt this coming. And then I had said to her that I feel like things like this happen to me. And then I'm like, maybe I worded this the wrong way, because she was like, what do you mean? Like, every one of your clients is, like, hitting on you.
And I'm like, that's not what I meant.
But she kind of. I knew she was hitting on me when she reached out to me. But she also did it in a spiritual way, so it could have went either way. And I'm like, she likes me, you know, so. But I was feeling it. Like, that weekend before, I was thinking about her like crazy, and she had come into the job, and they wanted to, like, the. They wanted to borrow her Doberman to do, like, some photo shoot, and I had to ask her about it. And I hate asking people favors. And I'm like, I'm getting uncomfortable. So I'm, like, looking down. I'm trying to talk to her, but I just. It felt different. It felt like something, like, flirtatious. And then that Monday, I got the text message, like, I must have seen her that weekend. And then she texted me Monday. So, yeah, I already felt it. I don't know. I was thinking of her sexually. I was thinking of all.
Yeah, well, there's. I'm sure there was, like, that chemistry in the air, but you're like, when do I cross the line? Or is this crossing the line? You know?
But it was right there. It was right at the end. It wasn't that it let up or.
Yeah, we never really interacted much other than text about dropping off the dogs or. It really was just 0 to 100, and I didn't even know what I was doing or, like, where this was going to go. I had no intention at the time of, like, leaving my marriage or my relationship. I just felt like I needed, I don't know, intuition. Like, I. I tagged you.
I think that happened, too, didn't I?
Like, no, I tagged you.
How'd you find my Instagram? There was a thing with that.
I think I tagged you and wanted to. She trimmed. She groomed my dogs. I took a photo, and I was like, I can't find you on Instagram. And. And so she sent me her name and then I started commenting, I think on all her. Yes.
On all of my posts. And I'm like, okay, there's something.
The hunt began. So you were hunting.
So she said.
I was. My heart was open. So, yeah.
How did it. How did it work with, like, the dynamic of your kids? And you're like, hey, like, I'm no longer in love with this guy. Like, how did you have that conversation?
They were little, though.
I was really little.
And I had full time help.
Okay.
Which helped because none of my family lives in California, so everybody was like, in New York.
Yeah.
I don't know.
But like, with your, like, your husband, he was. Was it kind of like you guys were already disconnected in a way.
So I think that really made me realize how disconnected we were. Like, he wasn't in the bedroom. I was in my room. When I was talking to her, he would fall asleep in his office downstairs. And, like, that was happening a lot. A lot more than, like, we both, I think, realized. And so there was definitely a disconnect. And I found out later that there was, like, a relationship going on that I wasn't aware of, even though I had found out about these other main event. So we definitely had issues that were going on. And so, yeah, I just was reaching out to see, like, where this was going to go and what was going to happen. But we had this undeniable connection that I didn't expect, I think, to have. And it was. We had so many similarities. We were just. Everything was just so deep. It was like soul level. It wasn't surface level.
What did it. What is that when you say that? Like, what does that feel like? Like Danielle to you? Like, what does that feel like? Because this is a challenge, right? Because you see it in any relationship. You've got so many people talk about divorce rates, but the thing I focus on, like, how miserable most couples actually.
Are, and there's no connection.
And the crazy part is the more money they have, our experiences, it's more miserable. And there's all kinds of bullshit happening underneath the surface. Nobody sees, obviously, Instagram couples, and they see. I get the unique experience of being behind the scenes with these guys, and I see some of the bullshit these guys are up to, and I see some of the chaos going on in the couples, and none of these people feel this thing you're talking about. And this is the thing that everybody's, like, looking for is this thing. And whether it's with a woman A man, whatever it's with. It's that thing your soul is looking for. What did it feel like to you, this feeling that she's projecting to you because you said it's like, I was kind of views. It was, like, spiritual, but it was, like, sexual. But it was like, both.
Yeah.
I knew I was going to marry her. That was it for me. And I had spent seven years with my ex prior to that, telling her, like, we have to be with someone seven years to really know if you want to marry them. Because I was just procrastinating because I didn't feel that connection. We were a great team, great person, best friend, but I didn't feel the connection. And then you try to tell yourself, like, well, that's okay. Like, if you have all these other positive things, maybe you don't need that, and maybe some people don't. I need that. I need the connection. I wasn't gonna make the move until I felt it. And then with her, like, immediately I was like, I'm gonna marry her. And everyone thought I was out of my mind. And I'm like, listen, I don't. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But, like, I don't feel that I am. So I'm gonna go through this because they didn't want me to get my heart broken. And I'm like, but I. I'm going to marry her. And. And then I did.
But did you feel that? Did you feel that same way? Like, this is. This is my person right out of the gate? Was it. Or was it like, a little bit longer for you?
I felt a very, very deep and strong connection, but I knew that I was in shit because, like, here I am with my kid's father and what I was calling my husband, and now I'm having this connection with not only another person, but a woman. And so, yeah, I just wasn't really sure what this was going to look like and what was going to happen in my life. And I think, you know, he was okay with it at first, and I was able to go and see her, and we hung out and, like, I'd send him photos and, like, it was like having a girlfriend, having a friend, but, like, having a girlfriend also, right? And it was okay until he saw the connection, and then he saw how excited I was with her and the lack of, like, attention on him. And now there was, like, an invitation invader to his castle. And that's when it became an issue. That's when everything started to crumble.
How did your, like, your Friends, your family members. Like, what were they thinking through all of this? Because you're thinking. I mean, it's hard when you have, like, this connection with somebody because you're like, I don't care what anybody else thinks, because you can't deny, like, what you're feeling. But it's hard to essentially tune out the noise. Like, people are going to say stuff, you know, how was it with just family and friends? Or was it not that hard because they were in New York?
I think everyone was sort of panicking. This was a shock. Not only that I was bisexual and dating a woman, but here I am blowing up my marriage, and I have kids and a very big lifestyle, and, like, what was going to happen? And so I think ultimately what I learned through that entire experience was to really just trust your heart and not your mind, because your heart's gonna tell you what you should do first, and your mind's gonna overthink it. And so once I was able to, like, tune into my heart and know that, like, I really am not happy in my situation with my ex and the money isn't bringing me happiness, and I really am connected with her, do I want to stay with him and risk losing her? No. And ultimately, that was. The ultimatum I had to make was.
Crazy, though, is like, people probably saw you as, like, picture perfect. Houses, cars, all these things. But like, a couple years ago, I mean, we've been married for, like, 21 years, but a couple years ago, we were so disconnected. And I was like, hey, I don't care if we lose everything, because I'm not going to be in a relationship just because it looks pretty.
Yeah.
And I was like, I want to feel you. Like, I can't feel you. And I know that chemistry is. And connection is there, but we just went through this phase where we were kind of numbing out.
Yeah.
And I was like, I don't care. And I think that's what people don't realize. It's like, a lot of people stay in unhappy, happy marriages, and they look picture perfect, and they're, like, dying inside, you know? So, like, kudos for you to be like you. I don't care. I'm gonna follow my heart and go that direction. Because ultimately, like, I know that's what brings us happiness. Because, like, I was ready to lose it all. I'm like, I will burn this shit to the ground. I was like, but I gotta. I know we can connect. We just got to get.
It was intense. But let me. Let me tell you exactly what she said. Because she's soft about it right now. I tell my guys and I'm like, because I gotta send you, like, I'm leading a movement of 65,000 men. I'm like the standard for physicality, spirituality, marriage, kids, money. This thing. This is what we're pursuing, this have it all be free thing. And I had been. I used to drink a bunch. And then I had gotten into these feel free tonics, the clavicratum, when you take them in excess, which I tend to because I'm an addict, it's like taking morphine. So in the first year, it was amazing. She was super happy. She's like, hey, my dude's not reactive. And I'm like, God, I'm not reactive. The is this.
This is weird.
I'm not blowing up over. This is great. Then the second year, it was just like kind of.
It was. He was just like there. It seemed like he was just kind of there. Like, I was like, hello, are you in there? Like, literally, it's like he was conscious but he wasn't there, you know?
And what is this?
It's so. It's kava and cradle kava.
We've got a bar.
Yeah.
Poetry place with the like numbing.
Yeah. But I'm so like, if I could choose any drug, anything under the sun, I would do pills, opioids, narcotics, like perks, oxy, like that. My body just respond and I can go. So I can go and still take. I'm not like out of commission. Some people out of commission, but it's a problem. I said with one, I get four. I give eight. It's just a problem. And just goes. So I gotten really heavy into it and I thought, I mean, we were doing quarterly week long trips out internationally. I'm like draping her with jewelry. We're going to date nights twice a week. I'm like, I'm like, fuck, dude. In the man world, I'm. I'm showing with the kids. I'm doing the thing. I'm like fucking killing it. And then she walks in, she's hot as shit at the time. She's in a bikini competition. She's letting the world know how hot she is, which she is like, let me do my twisty twist. And they're in the mirror all day, every day. Okay. I was proud of you. I mean, you got all my guys attention. They're like, look away, look away, look away. So she comes to me in this and she puts her hand there on my chest and she's like, I can't feel you. And the last six months, I've been thinking about fudgeing another man. I've been fantasizing about another man who could see me. I. I'm not saying I'm going to cheat on you because I'm too much a high value woman to do that. I'm just saying we can't keep going this way or it's going to end. Then for the next, like, couple weeks, I use a statement. Our program is called, if the king doesn't rise, the kingdom dies. So she's texting me, if the king doesn't rise, the kingdom dies. And just so you know, the queen lives, leaves with the children before it burns.
It's a little aggressive, but for to my own credit.
And then I was like, oh, I like it.
You know, I was, I knew this was going on and I wasn't communicating. And that's what was like, one of my problems is I was like, oh, we have the house and the cars and the four kids and I'm fit as and like, I just shouldn't complain about anything. And then I was like, it, I don't care. Like, I could, like, get rid of it because there was like, a piece of me that was dying, which is like, I want to be, like, connected with somebody, you know, And I think that's like part of being in a relationship is like having that chemistry and connection, having your best friend. And so I felt like I kind of had lost that. And he's not somebody that you can like, nicely say things. You got to really, like, get, like.
Give it to him.
Yeah.
Like.
It was very direct.
Yeah, but it was good. Like, he got, he got off him. We got. Now we're in, like, a great space.
I had a great move a week later. I thought, oh, yeah, I'm gonna call her bluff. So I have my executives put together a thing, and I brought her into a meeting and I said, okay, so let's play a game out. If we got divorced, here's what the money game would look like. And I had a map. My teams were so uncomfortable. Like, I can't believe you're making me do this presentation right now. I was like, present it. She listens to about six minutes of it, stands up and says, oh, no, you're wrong. I'm taking everything and walks out. And I look at my teams and they're like, their pants. I'm like, well, I think that went well. I think I went well. We're gonna have to try a different approach.
Well, good for me. I was like, again, to my own credit, I wasn't like thinking divorce, but I was like, we are going to fix this, you know, and inevitably I'm like, if you don't want to fix it with me, we're going to drift apart. Yeah, like, I'm willing to do the work, but if you're not going to do the work with me. And I think that happens in a lot of relationships is like, somebody's all in, but you can't drive, drag your partner, you know? So I was like, I'm not saying divorce, but I am if like we don't figure this shit out. So.
So the courage it took to do what you did. Yeah, it's like I would say line up, line up 100,000 people, men or women. The courage it took for you to follow your soul's path, like to do this. This is unicorn stuff. This is like trap the unicorn. Let's study it. Because most people don't have the courage to do this. They get trapped in the game. So talk me through, like the build up to this decision for you because this principle applies to every single relationship. The truth is most women are not talking, they're not following the courage in the hearts. They're trapped in relationships that are complete dogs. They know it and they won't get out and vice versa. There's guys are stuck in the same place. They're like, my, my heart is calling me somewhere else, but I'm trapped in this game that I've built for myself. So knowing you're going to lose a piece to gain something else. Not a sacrifice, a game. What was it? What we. What was the thought process in your world to come to this courageous decision to get the mind to unlock and the heart to say, I'm going no matter what?
Well, that's a lot of grief.
It really was.
So after I had to like make this ultimatum, my ex and I decided that we were going to sell our Beverly Hills house and move into a Malibu house for two months to see if we could reconcile our relationship. And in that time I said that I wouldn't speak with Danielle or see her. So that was like, very, very hard to do. And I spoke to her a little bit and I think on like the fourth of July, he finally caved and like, called you over and he like, came and like hung out. But it was really a very rough time. And it just really proved even more to me that like this really was over and I was trying to force something to like, appease my family, Appease the people appease, you know, him. And it wasn't like my truth. My truth was now with Danielle, and I knew what I was doing. And I think a lot of people look at me sometime are like, oh, she was with him just for the money. I wasn't even legally married. I knew what I was leaving, and I knew what I was giving up. Like, I don't get alimony still to this day because we weren't legally married. I left with my car, my clothes, and my kids and the responsibility now of two children forever. He's not even here.
He's not even in the world.
He's a. He's. Yes and no. He doesn't live in the States, and they see him sometimes for holidays. I'm being careful what I say because.
I don't want to like thinking that.
Well, your boys have known Danielle's since, like, they were little.
So Danielle came into my life when they were like, a year and a half and just three, I believe. And so they call her Bonus mom, you know, and in their world, they have two moms and a dad.
Do they call you mom or they call you Bonus Mom?
Danielle and Mom. Yeah. But they refer to me. Yes. Yeah. Our older one had started it maybe when he was. Was seven. And I was like, oh, it goes. So touched. Like, I heard him say, oh, yeah, that's my mom. And that. That's my bonus mom. I'm like, oh, wow. So much better than stepmom. And then the younger one, Tino, will say, that's my other mom. Like, I have two moms, so that's very cute.
And it's normal for them, and they're comfortable. And in today's world, it's okay. There's other kids that have two dads or two moms. So it's not like, oh, that's the kid that has the two moms.
I check in and ask. I'm like, does anybody ever make fun of you at school? He's like, no, no. They think Mom's hot and you're cool as. I'm like, all right, great. He's like, did you see some of my friends? You guys? Okay, great, great.
So we are saying that. That women divorce men. They don't divorce children. Right. And it's a weird deal because, like, you, if you take on the courage it took not only to make the decision and then to walk away from the money, and then the fact that now you're single mom, but you weren't single mom unless you're going with Danielle like this Is this. Is this is why women don't make these powerful decisions? Because most women do not have the courage to make that decision. They will trap their souls in hell in a relationship with a guy. I know tons of relationships like this. I'm like, why are you still here? I don't understand what you're doing.
Especially when there's a lot of money and lifestyle. I know a lot of people that will stay and not leave. And. And, yeah.
I mean, you didn't even bring up the social media hate that was going on. I mean, we had a gribble through.
Oh, yeah.
Getting bashed. Because now I'm the reason why this perfect little story that's watching on social media is ending. And they were posting my home address, and I'm like, are people gonna show up to my house? I was never used to this kind of exposure. And I'm like, oh, my God. Like, I'm like, everybody likes me. Why does everybody hate me? Like, I don't know what's gonna happen.
Right.
It was go. It was affecting my job. It was getting streams through the screens at work because if you hashtag the job, it would pop up on the.
Screen like, the home wrecker.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I, you know, I was very aware that, like, one day everything that's happening is going to be out there and, like, our kids are going to grow older and look at the Internet and see things. So, like, I didn't want to come out publicly and say, like, all of the things that happened, and still to this day, I don't. I just call it my main events and I leave it at that. And, you know, one day they'll know and, yeah, you know, they'll be old enough to understand it.
So during the two months while she's. Well, she's reconciling, you are now on your own.
Yeah.
Talk to me about that. Two months for you.
I had to struggle to just focus on my job, and I didn't want to hook up with anyone, which would have been typically what I would have done. I don't know. I just didn't want to ruin anything. I was like, be a little mature. Like, handle it. You love this woman. You want to marry her. You know, it's all going to work out. So. So I just focused on what I needed to do, and then it all ended up working out.
Well done. Well done.
It wasn't easy. It wasn't easy. It was not the honeymoon. Definitely not.
Well, you guys stepped right into a war zone.
Yeah.
What year did you get married?
2018.
Okay. Before we left, you're still kind of freshly married. Like, seven years. I don't know.
Seven years.
And you made the seven year.
Seven years.
You made a seven year.
Nine together. Nine together. And so.
Okay, so what is the thing that draws your soul to her the most? Like, what is it about her that has your soul? Just go, oh, this is it.
I think it's just how I feel when I'm around her. I've always told her, you know, we could be doing nothing, and I would rather do nothing with you than something exciting with anyone else. And it's just. I just. It just feels right. Like, it feels good to be in her presence. And when we connect and whether we're talking or sometimes I'll still be like, we should play cards or something just to get us, like, engaged again. If we're getting, like, busy with work and it'll just be a random, like, weeknight, and we'll, like, play cards in bed just to, like, reconnect. And I love that. It just. It feels. It feels right. It feels comfortable.
Do you guys do, like, weekly date nights?
We do, yeah, Twice a week. I think it's very important for couples to do it, but especially when there's somebody that's like a bonus parent because it's not biologically their kids and they're coming into a situation. And so I think, you know, making sure that she has that dedicated time and attention away from the children is, like, really important for the relationship.
We, we. When we. Well, we thought we were going to get, like, divorced like, 10 different times, like 10 years ago, but that's how we kind of partly how we reconnected and repaired our marriage because we were like, we're not dating anymore. Like, we just kind of became roommates. And so it's like one of the things we always preach. You're like, you put so much time and attention into your business and you forget to date your significant other. And so it's like, we. We do usually do, like, one or two date nights a week.
We're going twice a week.
Yeah.
So business side, you guys have business together?
Yeah. Yeah.
What's it. What is it? What's the primary game? Together. Business together. I know you have the clothing line that came out last year.
The clothing line is the primary business. So we were. When we were in the pandemic, in what, 2020, when this all started, we got involved in direct sales, so we started selling online. And that's. Everybody was just buying online, and we were like, we should come Together and make our own thing instead of, you know, promoting for other companies. And I typically wear men's clothing, but I'm small, so the brand needs to run in an extra small, or it doesn't really fit me. So I wanted to design clothing that women like me would wear, like, androgynous style. And then Jen has had a fashion background, so she wanted to kind of put her twist on some pieces. And we merged our ideas together, and we came up with a line.
Oh, cool.
So is this. This is the one that launched last year.
This is April.
Okay.
2024.
And outside of that, you have other businesses, too, that. Are you still in the grooming space, too, with dogs?
I stopped doing that. Florida is different than. I'm gonna say.
Okay.
I just enjoyed it more there than I.
Okay, got it.
But we were selling this collagen, and. And that was. I mean, we were doing phenomenal. And that was, like, our main source of, like, funded.
That got us opening.
And so we use those investments and stuff to launch that.
A couple properties, flips just randomly.
Like, and then I had removed my breast implants in 2019, and I really struggle to find bras and inserts that helped me when I wanted to have a boost to feel like I could. Even those thick pads from Victoria's Secrets, like, just didn't work for me. So I decided with my fashion background, I knew how to sew. I would create my own. And in doing that, I developed a bra and inserts that help not only women that have explained it, but also have gone through a mastectomy. And so that's kind of been like, my, what I call, like, a passion project turn, like, life project. I, like, live it every day myself. I'm wearing it right now. I have no boobs. I'm literally flat. And so I, like, when I talk to these women that have gone through explants or double mastectomies, removing their implants, now they're going to be flat. Like, I feel so fulfilled when I get to give them my product solved a yes. But it's, like, so much deeper because you cannot buy confidence. And so to be able to reestablish that for somebody having gone through this, like, the feeling is just so amazing.
That's how I feel with my hair extensions.
That is your. That is your hair.
So important.
Well, that don't have, like, no hair. And then you give them hair, like, so much of, like, their confidence. You're like, oh, you're like, can I ask why? How come you took yours out with Health reasons.
Breast implant illness. Oh, I was going to downsize. I had very big double Ds and I was with Danielle and I just felt really confident and comfortable to like downsize. And I was like, I don't need these big boobs anymore. And I had posted on social media that I was going to downsize and somebody was like, have you heard of breast impressions implant illness? And I was like, no. And this was 2019 or 2018 at the time. And so I looked up the symptoms and everything that was being listed and talked about I was going through. And I just kind of wrote it off like, oh, okay, I'm 30. Whatever. I was four at the time. Maybe this is just aging. The weekly headaches, weekly migraines, brain fog, memory loss, breakouts. Like just all of these random things that weren't so crippling. But like, who wants to live with these things every day? And so I overnight decided that I was going to remove my breast implants. And I knew what I was going back to. I never had breasts growing up. I was always stick skinny. And I knew that that was probably going to be my reality and I was okay with it. And Danielle was super supportive and made me feel so comfortable that, like, it wasn't just my boobs that she was attracted to and she supported me and what I was going to look like after. And I think more than anything, she just wanted me to be healthy.
Do you feel better overnight?
I mean, not only could I breathe better, but like all of my symptoms went away. It was really incredible. And I never want to make women feel bad for having plastic surgery. I still. I do not plan on aging gracefully. I'm all for it. And I don't want to make people feel bad for wanting implants because I was that girl growing up that was self comp. Self conscious and flat and just wanted to fit in. I just think nobody knew that these were things that could happen.
Yeah.
When you have them and that it's not like a one and done. Like, these are something that you're going to have to change for the rest of your life. And this is what could happen.
You know, it's so wild. Your energetic certainty is so deep just listening to you talk. Because I listen. I pepper hard questions and wild questions of people all the time. Just see how they react. I'm like, how's this person going to react? They're going to be off, they're going to fall off the chair, they're going to do whatever. You can't fake that in either one of you. You can't fake this shit. Like, you either. You either have deep certainty and who you are or you don't. And what you two went through, I don't. I'm. I'm confident. The decision path and the war zone that you two had to face and continue to choose each other in the pressure of this not only grounded both of you, it also grounded you together.
Yeah.
Because there's, like, a thing. Even when I was watching, like, videos on Instagram, they're funny. And I'm watching you guys do your thing, and I'm like, these two are. These two are deeply grounded humans, like, in soul level. And this is not.
You guys get invites?
Do we get.
What do you guys.
We're getting divorced every month. We haven't even talked about being in the same female relationship.
First of all, I'm smirking when you're telling the ex wife story, not because of what she went through, but because she told me overnight, like, she was just like, okay, I'm gonna go get my boobs removed. Do you remember that? Like, and then that was it. It was booked and done. You know, I was just thinking, you really do. You make good decisions, like, fast.
When I know when I start in my wedding dress with my past relationship. One and done. Tried one, I was like, this is it. Location. This is it. Like, when I'm certain about things, I'm very like.
Because you feel it. So you're like, yep.
That's very self aware.
Okay.
I'm very self aware. And. And I think I really do and have learned over time to, like, trust your gut.
Yeah.
Yeah. Well, that was big, big moves. So. Yes. We get divorced monthly. You get to not actually do well. You'll.
You talk to me like, listen, couples. Couples battle. We battle all the time.
I'm like, if I was with a woman, would I fight this much?
It's gonna be worse.
Worse.
Because he's so reactive, active.
I'm like, yeah, but when you're hormonal, he's probably like, Ashley's hormonal.
Yeah.
Oh, but when you're both.
When you're both hormonal at the same time. Yeah. Who's the one that's supposed to be reasonable?
Yeah, that's true.
You don't have one. When it doesn't happen at the same time, we're okay. Because we're like, oh, my gosh, don't do it. But if it's at the same time.
She'S like, that makes sense. Because me and my oldest daughter are on the same Cycle and there's times like once a month like you. She's like, you, my God, I love you. I'm just kidding.
Yeah, yeah. She'll throw at me or I'll take the car and I in a long time I turn my GPS off because she tracks me, you know, so I'm like, I do. She tracks me all the time. So I get in the car and the first thing I do is I turn off the location setting.
I would just like to say not because I don't trust you, I just like to know your whereabouts.
Yeah, there's nothing wrong with that. I don't think it's personal, but I think because of the shame in life.
It's not that I don't trust you, I just want to know your where exactly. It's not all of our kids is like, where are you? Where she texting me that like three times a day. Where are you right now? Like in the kitchen. I was coming back from fights down in Miami down like a few nights ago and she's like, wakes up in a paranoid thing.
Cuz he's like, he's on his way home and then he's not home when it's already 11.
And oh no, no. I love the conversations you have with yourself. When my phone dies and I don't even know, like you just have argument with yourself.
Like if he does the answer, I'll be like, where are you?
You.
Why are you not answering?
Do you try?
Oh, that's it. Oh, I hope it was worth it. I'm like getting this phone, like wait, I'm showing my friends. I'm like, this is what I'm dealing with. We're always like, dude, these girls are crazy.
And then if you don't open it and there's a pause, like open it and then pause.
Oh God.
You might have seen some of keeps it interesting. No, if we were so like just.
Yeah, you spiral a little bit but then I know nothing really happens. But I'm like, but why do you answer like right then? That's why.
I was watching a fight. It was like I was into the fight. I was like not on my phone wondering if you're going to text me in the middle of the fight. So talk to us about the dynamics of how you guys deal with the collision. Because it's inevitable. It's inevitable. People a lot of times get this idea, oh, I'm going to find my soul person.
We're never going to fight.
And then in this world we're never going to battle it's. Just going to be sweet and loving and going to talk, and it's going to be great. But everybody has these moments, all producing individuals, people pushing for big things. There's a moment's a collision. So what have you found? Has worked to go through it and then come at it and be good versus go into it and be like, fuck you forever. I'm out of here. Or disconnect and run away from each other for months at a time. Sleep in two bedrooms. I mean, we've had our moments like crazy. I've taken a red bottom to the forehead. Stiletto straight to the forehead. Straight to the forehead. I had to block the second shot. I was like, fast. I didn't know she had it in her little thing. She's fierce as.
He's such a big guy.
He just, like, pushes me and comes.
Me until I'm like, get out of my way. Yeah, that's me.
I think what we've learned, she calls it reactive abuse. They're not abusing you.
Absolutely. I'm able to stay very, very calm until I'm not.
Yeah.
And I think what I've learned is to warn her that, like, the kettle's starting to, like, get to that point and I'm gonna explode, you know, so if you don't. Yeah, calm it down. Things are gonna start getting slammed, broken, screaming, yelling. It escalates quite fast, but I am able to maintain it. Communication.
Ultimately.
It's so easy. Like, it's so easy to set you off, you know? Like, it's really so easy. And I like a little fight sometimes, you know, like, it's in me. I like, I recover fast, but I don't hold on to things. Why?
Is it because she. Oh, yeah, you. I take it in, and then I need time to, like, marinate better.
Can you. Can you two get. Can you two get in a battle? And like, 45 minutes later, you're like, yeah, I'm good. So you want to hang out?
I'm like, you want me to make you some tea? Did you have lunch? It's just like, I don't want you to make.
I don't need any favors.
What do you mean, you don't need anything? I'm like, let me make something. I'll make food. We haven't eaten.
Well, that was a challenge with us.
Too, because we'll get like a work argument or something, and then he'll be like, so, we going to dinner? I'm like, I can't go to dinner.
No, no, no, I'll do. I'LL do the worst, though. Like, we'll be in a battle, and she'll be so pissed, and I've, like, forgotten about. I'm like, oh, it felt really good. I'm feeling good now. And then I'll be like, hey, how are you? What's up? She's like, absolutely not. I was like, whoa, what are you talking? What's wrong? That was good.
I was like, we were just fighting. He's like, that was. We weren't fighting.
That wasn't a fight.
Raise your voice.
That's you. But it's true, because it's not always a fight. You think it's a fight? It's not a fight. I'm loud by nature.
It's not necessarily fight, but does this happen to you, too? Because then they'll be like, you're yelling. I was like, I'm not yelling. Talking right now. You're yelling at me. I was like, this is not yelling.
I don't like your.
I'll show.
You know, here's it.
Danielle and I are from the same playbook. Okay. So the communication does happen.
Yes.
And how. How do. How do you get back into the groove again?
Well, one, because I recover fast. It's easy. I'm literally over it. When I'm over it, like, it's not. I'm not holding on to things. I don't even like to go to sleep angry. And I push that on her because she can, and then I cannot, and I will be up all night. So I'm like, can we talk about this? And then she's like, well, I don't want to talk in front of the kids. I'm like, fine. So then we wait for the kids to go up. I'm like, we have to talk. You can't go to sleep. I'm like, because you're sleeping, and I'm going to be up all night. Like, we have to talk it out. And we do that. Yeah. And then, yeah, we're usually just over it because it's not really holding any weight. Like, we're arguing about nothing because we're both hormonal and nothing actually happens, so.
All right, you guys, quick interrupt. First off, thank you so much for listening to this podcast. I hope that you're getting a ton of value. Garrett and I started doing this, but probably about five years ago, and we love sharing more of our story. If you are interested in fashion, fitness, hair, I would definitely encourage you to check out my blog@DanielleKWhite.com I'm the creator of Naturally to grow hair extensions. But I have five beautiful daughters and a crazy story. So to follow along again, check out daniellek white dot com.
You've woken up after a fight, like, the next morning, and you both.
Yeah, like, what the hell did we.
What the fuck were we arguing about? Like, just stupid shit sets things off. And you're like, did that. We're gonna pretend those were other humans last night? Because I don't know what was.
I know.
I was. I was. There's some fights. You're like, hey, we need to. Like, we need to. Why did this happen? Then there's some fights. So I'm like, that was like, just a stupid human thing. Like, what were we arguing about? What triggered that? You know?
Yeah. So it's like.
Yeah, ours typically happen with tequila.
Yeah, we like tequila. I have to know. I have to tell him when he tries to argue with me when we both had a couple drinks, I'm like, I'm not. Sorry. Like, I'm not going to let this escalate, you know, because we've had moments where we have. And then we're like, well, we can't unsay that. You know? And it's like, it's not worth it. So now I'm like, hey, like, we can have a couple cocktails, but we're not going to bring up any serious conversations because that doesn't end well, you know?
So it's like, Daniel has an alter ego. Her name is Susan.
He.
Well, he likes amazing.
She's a stripper. She's a stripper.
That's the thing.
He likes. You already know.
She'S mad.
No, Susan has the phase of. Susan goes stripper. Sluttied. Awesome.
Yeah.
Let's go. And then she's a killer.
Yeah. That's how I say.
She goes from seductive stripper to I'm gonna stab you in the neck. And I'm like, jesus, that shifted quickly.
I just can't have any, like, heavy conversations. I'm like, we gotta keep it light.
Otherwise, so funny. She's the same way.
Yeah. I don't really drink ever. I just don't, like, taste.
Yeah.
And if I do, I have like a. A mudslide or like a Bailey's. And I'll drink, like, half. But just that little bit. I have an alter ego that comes out. She likes to dance. Yeah.
I was going to say you get a little loose.
Yeah. Danielle gets.
Not often.
I like it. Danielle gets. That's why I like a little. A little tequila and be in downtown Miami. And she's like, all of a sudden Colombian. And she's like, she does go to Columbia. She's just going off. I'm like. I'm like, she's. She's a pusher, too. She does, like, I like calling people names for not drinking. Oh, what are you a. You don't want to drink right now? She'll say to my friends, like, you need to drink another. And then my friends are wasted as. Can't even walk anywhere. She's running around like a crazy person. And then I'm carrying her up the stairs like a comatose body.
I like, here's the. Here's to my credit, I like to. I work hard and I'm like, with my kids. And I'm always, like, so focused. So every once in a while, people see a wild side of me. They're like, I did not know that was there. And I'm like, I have four kids. At some point this has to come out.
Yeah, yeah.
But I don't. I usually. It's fun and light, but every once in a while, it goes to the dark side.
So a little bit to the dark side. Okay, so you ready to shift conversation sex? This topic can create massive connection for relationships. It also can create tons of chaos. And inside the experience inside of like, a lesbian relationship or gay relationship, I don't know. I don't have the hum of the conversation to operate this with. Back in 2009, I was running an event called Sole Purpose Intensive. And this young couple works in two girls, they sit down the front. While I was raised in Mormonism, my wife was too. So my whole life being raised around that was like an ideology of gay, lesbian, bad, wrong, go to hell. Everyone's going to burn. If you look at them, you'll burn. Don't look them, they'll burn. And I was like, oh, man. So I'm in this transition, just left the Mormon Church, and I'm running this event, and this young, beautiful couple walks in and sits in the front row. And I'm like, oh, I think they're together. Oh, shit, they're together. And my mind has come from this frame. My whole life of wrong, bad, evil, wicked, go to hell, burn. And I'm sitting and watching this couple for three days, and this whole event is about discovering who you are, like, identifying your strengths and talents and abilities. And by the end of the first day, like, I could not ignore what I was feeling, which was I was seeing demonstrated for the first time in my entire life, a couple who was deeply in love with each other. Like, at a level I couldn't understand. Now you have to understand, this is fucking with my mind in the biggest way. Because my whole life I was taught that is bad, evil, wicked, horrible, go to hell, burn and die. And I'm witnessing something in front of me. So by the end of the third day of the event, I became very good friends with them and they became clients of ours and went into other programs, etc, but I was watching it. Role models. So people are like, when did you first see Real Soul Connection? I said, I saw it in a lesbian couple in my event. And it shattered my entire frame because there was experience just like you were talking about. There's, like, what I was feeling and there was everything my mind was saying, which were in complete contradiction to each other. My mind's like, we don't know how to process what we're seeing right here, but we know what we're feeling right here. This is true. But I thought this was true. How can this be true? But this is not true. I don't fucking understand. And by the way, I was a banker for 10 years, so I just barely gotten into personal development. So it's all very new to me. Before that was just make money. 100 guys in my sales floor just get money, get money or your wife make money. And now I'm in this world, energy workers and Reiki and plant medicine and psychedelics. And this beautiful couple in front of me demonstrating more love than anyone I'd ever known. Not my parents, nobody I'd ever seen before. So part of the love conversation comes with intimacy and sex and being able to put those two together. A lot of people have sex, but they don't have the intimacy. They don't have that connection. And a lot of them have the connection but don't have sex. And typically for guys, we have to have sex to feel intimate. And typically our experience has been with women, they want to feel intimate and then they want to have sex. Now there's variance in that. So how does that dynamic work out with you two? With. Is it easier? Because I always joke around. I was like, if I was communicate intimacy, sex. And she was community communicate intimate sex, which is her form.
Yeah, I like to feel like. Like connected before. I feel like I can fully, like, express myself and open up. I'm like, sorry, like, you don't get to work all day and then come home, be like, come on, babe, let's go to the bedroom. I'm like, no.
And I'm the opposite. I'm like, just let me get in there. And then I'm gonna be intimate with.
You all night long. Doesn't work that way.
And she's like, no, no, no.
I think you have to do that first.
So how does it work with. How does it work with you two on that side? Is it the same? Is it different? Meaning do you both find the intimacy first and then sex comes? Or is sex come and then intimacy? Is that a blend of the two? I'm coming. You first, Danielle.
I think we both go. Sex, intimacy. Think about it. You could be asleep.
You don't care.
No, she doesn't really think about that, though. Really, Dopen. Because it's true. I think we're both fine that way.
Yeah, but I thought that you were the opposite. Like, I'm coming from a heterosexual world into this. So for me, I'm kind of just used to, like, having to be ready to go whenever the person wanted to go. Whereas, like, with Danielle, I feel like sometimes she wants me to, like, caress her arm or, like, come cuddle. Like, you say stuff like that?
No, no.
What I say, maybe I'm not understanding.
Because we have these dogs now. There was. We got three.
Tell me they're not in the bedroom.
They're in the bed.
Okay.
We got Garrett calls those clock walkers.
Those are our children. I'm like, I'm coming and trying to make a move. Get these dogs.
Any of them growl at you? Because. Yes. It's so annoying. I told you this morning. You're talking to the dog for 10 minutes. You barely spoke three words. She, the dog's getting a song. There's a whole thing. Oh, yeah. I'm like, are you kidding me right now? It's like a baby. We have a great sex life, but I think recently, when we've been busy with things and now that we have these dogs. So we got these two puppies. In 2022, my dog passed away. I needed a dog. Jen had two dogs prior that are now 15 and 16. But because I wanted a dog and Jen knows I'm not the kind of person that. It's going to be a family dog. It's going to be my dog. She wanted a puppy, too. So the puppy.
You got two puppies at the same time?
Yes.
Oh, geez.
Yeah.
So now they're two.
Sweet baby genius. You got a full time puppy nanny.
No.
You went back to parenting. You went back and you had two infants.
So now they're two and they sleep in the bed and hers is, like always in the middle. And, like, she just growls. You can't move her. So she used to sleep in my arms every single night for years. Like we. And we stopped doing that because the dog's in the way. So that's what you're referring to. Like, it's not that I need you to caress my arm in order to make a move, but if there's like the dog anyway in between us, it's kind of hard to do anything, you know?
Yeah.
So definitely you have to make.
We need to make the effort to move the Dolph because get tired at.
The end of the day. But it's like every day you're going to be tired. It's always going to be something. So you really have to like, make that effort to be like, all right, tonight's the night we do.
But it's like, like when things are more impulsive and it's hard because I have to be like. Like, she's like, what are you doing? I'm like, just.
Yeah, yeah.
Taking the dogs off the bed.
Just. Just felt prompted to move the dogs. Like they should be on the floor.
But not for nothing. And two. And when you're with two friends, females like it. It can't really just be like impromptu. Like you gotta grab things and like get ready.
I'm fast. I got skills. I'm ready. I can get the. I can get the useful tools faster than I can move this dog.
Yeah, it's true. I grab tools faster than you have to brush your teeth and do the things which I don't even care. You don't have to do any of it.
So the, the dogs. So the dogs are. The dogs are an issue. They're a loving issue.
It's an issue A little.
You know what? It's funny.
Cuz God, for me, it's an issue. For me.
I know he like when he comes about if I'm cuddling, co immediately is like, nope.
And I'm like, oh, but.
But I don't care. She's really easy to like, she. We'll put her on her bed. She two pounds and she, she won't cry or anything. And then she'll. She knows when he leaves in the morning and she'll start like whimpering like, mom, he's gone.
Come get me.
And so then I come grab her.
But she's so little. There. There's times like we're, we're smashing. We're going after it. And I'll. I'll like look over the dogs and the dogs are sitting there looking at it, like licking my toe. And I'm like, don't lick my toe while I'm doing this. God, that's horrible. Get off this. But it's too little. We don't have the problem because he's a little dog. Not a big dog. And the other one sleeps in our kids room.
So what kind of dogs are they?
A six pound miniature schnauzer. A Pomeranian. And then the older ones, it's a Pomeranian and a multiple.
Okay.
The older ones are fine. The seniors don't bother anyone.
They can't hear anyone.
Yeah, fine.
They're doing their own thing.
How much. How much does sex and intimacy play? And obviously we got the dog things going on. Like, how much does that play into your relationship? Some relationships, it's like deep and it's meaningful. It needs to happen a lot. Some it's not as much. Some it's like somewhere we get in situation with couples where the woman actually wants to a lot, but the guy's kind of a dick and he doesn't know how to show up in a way. So we actually build entire programs in our programs for guys we call paid and laid protocol. We teach married dudes how to like learn game.
Yeah.
With their wives because they've lost it all. Like, their idea of game is I go to work, I come home, and.
They don't even know how to connect and they just want to like, shut down. And then they're like, oh, come on, babe. And the girl's like, no, like, sorry, it doesn't work that way.
So what's the rhythm? What's the rhythm for you guys? Like, does it have to happen multiple times a week? Is it have to happen once a week? Is it. Is there just change based. I mean, obviously seasons, things change and lots of work and things and stress. But what have you found? Is the rhythm for you?
I think definitely connection above anything. As long as we connect, we see each other, we hear each other. I think that that. And I'll speak for myself, I think that that right in this moment is what's the priority. Of course we'd love to be intimate and have sexual relations together.
Blessed with the businesses. I think it's been a crazy few months, but it's still happening. It's just.
Yeah.
Frequent.
I don't think it's like, oh, if we don't bang, like, we have serious issues. Like, I think connecting, if we're not connecting, that's a more serious issue than like, yeah.
But then when we do and we're like, why did we wait a weekend?
Yeah, let's Not.
Wait. Exactly.
Do that.
So the stress of business like this, I mean, this is just a deal. You got what I call the trifecta. Insanity. Yeah. You work together, you have businesses together, and you have kids.
And dogs. And quail.
And dogs. And quail. Do the quail sleep in the bed?
No.
Okay.
They have a.
They do have an estate.
They stay this way.
Oh, cute. Okay.
And they have, like, the little eggs in the grocery stores.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Acrylics.
I told them the duck story before.
Oh, yeah, yeah. We had a series of ducks.
I knew we were in trouble when I was sitting on the Internet and we were looking up diapers for the duck.
We had consider keeping one because he.
Was called Lucky dude. So they had a whole group of the ducks that were built. They were growing in school in our house in California.
They all died but one. So we called him Lucky. And he was super cute. And we were like, maybe we should keep them. And then we got Dory, and we're like, dory's gonna eat him. We probably shouldn't keep him.
No. When it ended was when the kids were making me buy diapers for the duck.
Yeah. But we.
To be in the house, and I was like, I can't do this. We're done. This duck has to leave. So we found a farm for the duck to go to.
Cute.
Yeah.
Pigs. Actually, in California, we had many pigs in our house.
That's the thing, too.
Yeah.
No, the pigs are smarter than dogs.
They broke into the house, ran upstairs, and peed on the wee wee bed.
They. They're, like, smarter than dogs.
It's crazy. Yeah.
We don't. We might be pigs, but we know where to pee. Yeah, we don't. We're not boo. We're bougie like that, running through the.
House, and then the three dogs running after the pigs. I'm running after the dog.
We've had moments like that in our last house when there was, like, ducks and dogs and, like, my baby. And I was like, what did we do? Why did we do this?
The pit bull's chasing the bunny gets the bunny.
How do you guys. Guys, like, we've tried to work together, and, like, it's really hard to go into, like, work mode and then, like, husband and wife.
Yeah.
You know, how do you guys sort of, like, you go into work, you can have work conversations, but then you can, like, go home and be together. Is that hard to separate it? I mean, for us, it was. We stopped working together. Now we have our own separate businesses because it Just. I mean, we couldn't figure it out.
Yeah, well, on top of working together, we also work from home together, so we're never leaving each other's space.
But do you have to, like, turn the house?
You know what I mean?
Like the business card.
I think when we're doing things that we enjoy about the job together, then we're great. Like when we're making content, like, we love that, and then we're connecting. I think when we're doing things where maybe both people are assigned different tasks and I might have a time frame on it, and Jen's like, we have our own business. There is no time. Then we butt heads a little bit, and then she has to remind me that I'm speaking to my wife and not an employee, and then go through that.
But for the most part, that is the tough part. That right there, what you just nailed, that's the tough part. This is where our rub would always come, because she would come to me. My executive teams were running both rounds.
It's the tone. Like, you can tone.
It's ever so hard.
She would come to me, though, and she. She would pull this move. I have a feeling you pull this move too, and we're on the same page. I got you, girl. Let's go. So I'm coming in business mode with my business partner, and she's coming to me with a business problem. I am a problem solver. This is how I build my empire. She comes to me with the problem. I got business partner hat on. She's got business partner hat. I'm very clear about the roles. You're a business partner. I'm a business partner. You're beautiful. I sleep with my business partner. That's fucking amazing. But right now, we're solving a problem. So she's got the hat on. And then she always says tone. I'm like, you know, I'm not yelling. I'm just speaking passionately like I do to anyone else on the team. So I'll speak to her, and then she'll pull this. She'll. I'll turn like this and look over here. She'll switch the hat and put on wife hat. And then I'll come back at her and I'm like, see? So I'll be like, listen, you. You can't talk to me like this. I'm your wife.
I. That's why I stopped asking for advice. I was like, this is going.
Right now. You're just yelling me. I am your wife. I have. I have birthed four of your children. You cannot speak to them. You're this way. This is not relationship works. I'm like, what? I, I didn't know we switched ds.
What I really want you to say is here, all of your ideas are amazing.
And see, that's all I need to hear. You just tell me.
Well, yeah, Stroking the ego.
So she do this.
She's a, she's a girl, but she's kind of like a dude because she needs all those things too.
Yeah. Hey, hey. I, I, I get it, I get it.
It's a duality.
So how do you, how do you, do you juggle that when. That, when that's going down because you're in the same space. Proximity creates power, but also proximity creates a depolarization at times because you see each other all the time. All the time. All the time. Which can help. And also the confusion of roles. So how have you learned to navigate that territory?
I think we're doing better with it. And we, I think we have been separating. Right. Certain tasks. And I'm like, I'll let her do her own goals and things on her own time, and I'll do mine on mine. And if there is something that to me is an important deadline, we meet weekly at the beginning of the week or like a Sunday night. And I'm like, hey, let's go through the schedule for the week and just like, promise me you're going to do X, Y and Z. So like, we don't get into this.
So I'm very front end. Like, I'm very creative. I'm front end visionary, all of those things. I have a lot of trouble with the back end stuff. I'm not great with scheduling or putting together, like, a system system. And Danielle's very good with systems and managing and all of that. So I like to be the boss, but I also like to be told, like, this is what you need to do. Get it done, and I can get it done, but I don't want somebody tell me.
Like, that's also confused, what you just said, right?
Yes, I know. I want a boss, and I want.
Someone to tell me, I don't want a boss.
I want, like, an assistant. So I need somebody assistant. All right, this is like, what we need to do today. Get this done, and then I can do it.
But if she does do it, you. But if you don't do it, you get upset with me for giving you, for not doing it.
It's a fun.
Do you guys have others?
This is, yeah, this is the challenge. Literally what you two are in right now. This is exactly what happened. Because she wants to be the boss and be in charge and be the vision manager.
Like, the boss is not like the manager. So it's like for. He hired. He recently hired a personal assistant for him. I realized it's my personal assistant.
Yeah.
Cuz like, did it make life easier?
Yeah, you get more done chess on that one. That's what I need.
Yeah. I got a new personal assistant for myself.
And I even. And I even told Jada. I was like, who's. Who's my real personal assistant? I'm like, don't get mad at me if I forget details. That's not my job. That's your job. I'm like, so I shouldn't have to look at the calendar? You should prompt me and remind me that's on the calendar. That doesn't mean that I'm not the boss. That doesn't mean. Just means that's not my job.
You know, I love it. It's like, that's.
That's what you got to do. Yeah.
But no, because what ends up happening is whenever there's an assistant, I have an additional person to micromanage. And then she undoes it. I'm like, I gave her a schedule. What are you doing?
Why?
And then they don't know what to do, so they drop everything they were supposed to do to do what she asked them to do. And then I'm like, what happened to xyz? And she's like, jennifer told me. I'm like, jennifer nothing. Like.
Oh, gosh. So what? I. I'm just going to give you the strategy. Strategy is you have one person who works for you, but really she's there to run interference.
I like this.
Meaning you'd say anything you want to her. All your plans, all your ideas, give them all to her. She loves to run around with Boxer and just yell great ideas at everyone. And everyone on the team's like, what the have you just done? You just. The whole team's confused because you had a idea on a Tuesday at 3 o', clock, right after your nail appointment because your last girl's hot. And you're like, oh, God, my last girl's hot. And then you got an idea into the boxer you go. And I'm like, stop sending the boxers to the team. Everybody's confused about the you're saying right now.
Well, I don't mean for them to do it right then. I mean, I'm just like, at some.
Point they don't know that.
Yeah, but they don't know that, because her intensity with every idea is like, okay, guys, so here's how it's going to go. And then I'm getting blown up in text. Are we supposed to listen to her right now? Listen to right now. Like, what are we supposed to do? So this is why we had to create a channel. That's why we had to separate it to where she could just not feel capped with her vision and ideas, not feel stifled by me and help her just channel that energy into a controlled environment where she could just be. Wreak havoc. She could be going to Equinox. And now, oh, my God, I need more red bottoms. And then she gets more red bottoms. And then she gets an idea. And she's like, I just got red bottom. I'm like, good, go for it, girl. Just tell everybody.
Just let them know.
You always have, like, an idea. And then you're like, I got to get this out right now.
Whereas you and I will get an idea. We're like, okay, hold up. We need to, like, we need to out, because that idea is going to cause this problem over here. And this and this. Let's map this shit. And by the time I'm even pulling the vibe board up to map, she's already sent three boxers to everybody.
It's so funny.
This is so this is why we're curious, because this we.
It sounds like the. The dynamic, the role, the energies.
You guys like our twins.
Similar, though. You know what I mean? It's like, well, you have, like, together too long. It's like you always have the visionary in the relationship, but that's what, like, comp. You guys probably compliment each other, right?
It was about the balance.
Yeah, like, there's a good balance. It's really. I think that's the only time you're really butt heads. It's because I do. I have to. You know, I was always working, like, in a nine to five kind of mentality. And then to shift and do this, I need the schedule. Like, if I don't create myself a schedule, I'm never going to do anything. Like, I don't have being held accountable to anyone, so.
Right.
So I really live by that. In which I think your mindset is more. Well, we make our own hours, so why should, like, why not, like, why can't we pivot? But then I feel like we're always playing catch up if you. If we do that. So it's just finding, I think, the balance between the two of us of, like, what we can compromise on. Like, if it's not. I always say, like, if it's not such a big deal to, like, just bend a little bit, then. Then just do it. If it's making my life so much easier and vice versa. Like, if there's something that's important to her, I'm like, just tell me. Like, I could shift.
And.
Yeah, I think that that's been working well.
Do you guys have other team members with your clothing line right now?
Now.
Like.
Like.
Like a babysitter slash nanny will be like, oh, can you help us do this? Like, while she's on to just fill some hours? Yeah, but no, we don't have. We just used to.
Yeah. Had more, and now we have less.
But listen, I. I've been an entrepreneur for 23 years, and I had never had a real executive assistant and personal assistant ever. So the first time we ever had somebody outside of nannies was this girl, Jada. And Danielle, like, fired all of her teams and cut 80 of her companies out.
Such a. Yeah, I, like, I didn't need that big of a team.
You know what I mean?
And then I was like, this is stupid. When we moved her, I literally cut 20 people. I was like, okay. And I replaced 20 people with Amber and two people. Two. Two people. But it was kind of like an eye opener for me. I was like, oh, like, why? You know, why was I doing it that way? And that's just kind of how business works, though. You're like, if it's not. If it's not working, you've got a course. Correct along the way, you know, so it's. I don't know.
Well, having. Having this. Having Jada in her world. Because the problem is the team members she had before were, like, very opposed to all of her ideas. Well, that she was constantly at war. So then she had Jada, who was frustrating. Younger Jada's only, like, 19, but she operates like she's 30. She's, like, super tech savvy. Very, very structured. John on the spot. We'll go work seven days a week. She just super excited, moved out here to Miami with us. Once she had Jada, like, everything took off because Jada was just, like, able to sit, and she just would listen to her ideas and then organize them all so I didn't have to do it.
Wow.
Jada was doing it. So Jada would take her ideas and execute on them, and she would just speak into the boxer now to Jada, and Jada just translates. And then when she needs help, she comes to me. Hey, how do you think we could do this based on what Danielle's wanting. And now she's never. I've never seen her this fulfilled. Because now there's no cap on the desire to express her visions and ideas.
Well, I think I was gonna say if you guys express. Expand your brand, like, the thing that you have to understand is you have to have people that understand your vision. If they're kicking back at any point, like, they don't understand the mission, they don't understand the vision, and they're gonna. If you keep on the team for too long, they're just gonna be a speed bump. And I experienced that the tough way. Like, I kept team members on my team for, like, over a year that I was like, they need to go. And eventually I had to, like, let all of them go and kind of start over. You know what I mean? So it's like, make sure that whenever you guys start to expand that people understand, like, what is your. What is your vision behind? Like, like it's clothing line. But like, how you were just describing. You're like, it's how I feel about my hairline. I'm like, no, it, like, changes women. It gives them confidence. And so it's. It's more than just like, the business is like, what's the mission behind it for you guys?
Yeah. Right.
So we're going to move the dogs to the guest room, and we're gonna get them some beautiful beds, and we're gonna get a Jada.
A Jada. Yeah.
This will be so good for your relationship. I'm telling you, Wheat, when she. She got Jada, well, then I don't.
I don't give him all my things. I'm like, I can tell him somebody else and they'll organize it for me and bring it back.
It was just better because then she didn't feel. Because I feel like with us, like, she was always. Because I'm so grounded in do that her ideas would come in. I'm like, that's a great idea. I like that idea. But that. That idea is not going to work for, like, a long time. And then she would feel like, I'm not listening. I don't care about her visions and her dreams and her aspirations and what, you know, what Louis Vuitton told her today in her visions, which I'm like, totally good with it. I'm like, I, hey, I love the inspiration you get walking through Aventura mall. It's the greatest mall it's ever been. You go to Equinox, you work out, you shop for two Hours. I love it.
I didn't do that every day.
Oh, my God. It's the most expensive gym membership I've ever bought.
The problem, The. My gym is in a mall. And then I'm like, I wonder what Lululemon has today.
It's. It's a problem. It's a good problem to have, though. I like that you get that problem. Okay, so we need a Jada. You do need a Jada.
But that's funny because I'll, I think on the opposite. I absorb everything she's telling me, and then she'll be like, oh, and by the way, we need to change this bathroom vanity. So I, in my personality, I want to push everything forward.
Yes.
So whatever she's pouring into me, I'm like, I have to get. Get it done.
Yeah.
And then.
And then I get over if you have a Jada with you, like, and, like, now I've got Christina and Jeanette and she's got Amber, who's on our team. So Amber and Jada, like, having the right people in that place, it actually explodes. It not only explodes a business, it creates the ability for this connection that you guys were talking about earlier. The disconnection we would have much like, yeah. It was just so. It happened every day. It was so rough.
And even making simple phone calls and having to follow up with people, like, that takes time and it's so draining. And then you forget and you're like, oh, God.
So, yeah, and we're in the middle of the house. It just makes a call.
We get it. Moved the whole our companies from. From Southern California moved all of our family moved all of our teams, all in the last, like, six weeks. Wow. How these people in the house, movers in the house, organizer in house furniture, all of it. So I get it. Having those people, like, makes such a big difference.
Yeah.
And you're thinking like, oh, can we. Could people like, oh, can I afford to do that or should we do that? I'm like, dude, you can't even afford not to do it because just the stress it puts on the relationship. It's like, even nannies, like, a lot of our guys, like, my wife's so stressed. I'm like, bro, get a full time nanny. No, no, she. She's not gonna do it. She doesn't trust anyone. I was like, bro, you are going to continue to not get laid and you're going to continue to have a stressed out woman who, when you come home, wants to murder everyone and disappear with some hot guy down in South America. So, like, if you don't get this nanny thing figured out, you're done?
Yeah, yeah.
Your daddy's. You guys. You guys have a full time.
We had someone and she moved back. What? She wanted to move back home in August. So now we have, I guess, a babysitter that we're turning into a nanny assistant. She's great. She lives in her neighborhood and it just works.
We'll shout out. Gianna.
Yeah, I got the shout out.
Yeah, she's been great. So we're seeing where this could go, right?
Where do you guys. Guys see what are your vision for your clothing company? And tell us the name. Tell the listeners what the name of it is.
So the company that we have together is called aligned and we just dropped out the vowel, so it's a L, G, N, D. And then my explant company is called Original Self.
Okay.
And what'd you ask?
Where do you guys see it going? Both of them?
Retail. I think we'd love to do some sort of retail for Aligned and then for original stuff. I think the same. Like to have. Have the bras in a store and just be more accessible, especially worldwide, would be great.
How far down the line are you with. What is it? I'm sorry, the bra brand again, Original Self. Original Self. How far down the line? How long have you been running that?
So I launched in August.
Okay.
And we've done really, really well. It's the first company that's explant focused in the world. So I'm trying to capitalize on that and really just come out with things that I use myself. And anything that I'm using and trying, I'm bringing to the table. And it's just. It's difficult because it's not like a one size fits all. So you have to have different options for different body types and different sizes. And it's not like a standard ABCD because now we've like removed these implants, but now we have loose skin, so it's a lot to think about.
Where's all your stuff made?
So mainly China.
Okay.
Yeah. I can't find anybody local for the bras. And then for our clothing line, we have Pakistan for all of our and goods.
Who does all. Who does all your shipping? Do you have a shipping company?
We do it.
Oh, you do?
You guys are.
We've been trying to do as much as we could ourselves, like counting everything, recoup cost. In the beginning. Yeah, in the beginning. And then, you know, like, we have someone that does our content, but, like, we'll we're responsible for like putting it up.
So like, for now, that's great. Okay, so we're. We are in. We're in fun launch mode, right? And fun launch mode is like the concept and idea. And now we're. Now we're getting traction and moving the piece on this interesting is like just God, why I keep forgetting Original what original self. My mind is like original sin. Welcome to our problem.
The original, original self. Like, you're back to where you started.
So share with me. Share with me. That and our listeners like the messaging behind it because I find the behind the brush. Like, because every, the every product, no matter what it is like, like we, we like, we fall in love with because of like the, the backstory to something. So I even like the show's fun.
She kind of shared her back the backstory.
But like on Give It Give it again from like the broader spoke of like, here's the message behind the message with the name of the brand.
So I mean, like, what do you.
Want people to hear about it? Like, if I put you in front of 5, 000 people and you had a chance to share for 5 minutes the storyline of this, you've kind of gone through it with what your problem was Experience. And so there's experience and there's a message. What's the message you want women to receive from this?
I think that the message is like, of course, like, beauty really comes from within, but there is an element that, like, how we feel and look on the outside can affect how we feel about ourselves on the inside. And so the bra is meant to kind of be like makeup. There's days where I don't want to wear any makeup and I'm just totally comfortable and confident in myself to walk around with not a drop of makeup on. But then there's times where I want to be glam, and that's totally okay. And I feel just as confident without it as I do with it. And that's what I want the bra to kind of be for women is that I want you to feel and know how beautiful you are without it. But then for the nights or the days that you want to put it on and feel like yourself with implants and you have that option. It's really about giving women the option to have the ability to have these boobs and feel like they once did with it without having the consequences of the health risk.
Confidence.
Well, I love that because it's like, it's so crazy that you're like, hey, you can. You're Beautiful with or without it. But if you want to feel that way, then go for it. You know, it's. We were speaking at a big event one time and I was talking about hair extensions. And so I was talking about, you know, feeling beauty within and all these things. And somebody's like made a comment. They're like, well, because it was a virtual event too, remember? And somebody was like, well, if you feel so confident, why do you need that fake hair? And I was like, because I feel beautiful with it. Why does that matter? That doesn't affect who I am. But if I feel beautiful with it, like, I'm okay with or without it kind of.
Yeah.
So I think the messaging is like, hey, you're beautiful, but those times you want to feel like a little bit extra, like, go for it. And like that. Same with makeup. That's what's fun about it. Hair extensions, heels, like everything.
Exactly.
I can wear sweatpants all day. But you know what? Today I want to feel cute.
You know, I can imagine like if you were like, just like in your experience, you went from double Ds to nothing.
Like that transition part of your identity.
Almost, you know, like it's very emotional like for, for a woman to go through because your identity, like the way you look at yourself in the mirror, if you don't have a ton of self worth inside, like, I got into bodybuilding like a year and a half ago. I was like 190 and I'm at 225 and I see the difference in how I was just surfing and doing whatever and I decided to get big again. I was like, all right, we're big in. And I see the difference in how I see myself. But in the bodybuilding world as well, because most of these dudes are so have no confidence. They're super big, but they have no confidence. So, like, they don't have this inside things. You can give them this outside thing.
Yeah.
But they still run around with big sweats on and they still feel like they're fat and they're this and that. I'm like, bro, you are a monster. Take your shirt off. What the fuck are you doing? The messaging on this is going to be critical. I'm not trying to coach right now.
Because we did this with hair open.
Because naturally row hair extensions, we like, we push into a market with hair in a way, with a message. It was so different and her methodology and her vision with it. As I came in with her to collab on, like creating the messaging of it, like, what is the messaging it can't just be about hair extensions. How are we going to get women to fly from around the world and around the country to come to salons, invest 3 to $5,000, get hair extensions, and do it consistently? And that all came back to the message wasn't the product anymore, it was this message. That's why I'm intrigued by the name, because the messaging of that name allows for a bigger conversation to happen. What are the statistics on women, like doing explants? Like, how many?
It's a good question. It's definitely. I mean, there's plastic surgeons that have turned to only doing explants now because that's how popular it is.
Those are your partners.
Yeah, those are your partners.
That's who you should be marketing to. All those doctors should be your strategic partners. And you're coming in with more than. Because you two is. You two is a couple, like energetically, like you have the space hold for people look.
And now it's like, what's the messaging behind it? You know?
But that messaging lines up with something bigger. So when we made the message bigger than hair, it was. Hair was the thing along the path to the thing, which is what I heard you saying too, which is like, women are going to feel more confident, more certain, more sexy, more powerful, more connected. Same thing with hair accent. Now of a sudden, you're justifying like this massive of opportunity.
That's a good idea. Get into like the plastic surgery places and then think of their clientele. And then from there, like especially in Miami, right? Like, think of that clientele. And then from there, then it's like, get it into a Neiman's and a Nordstrom's and that kind of thing.
But it'd be interesting because if you imagine it was a. I didn't realize we were gonna go to this place. I'm sorry, I turned it here turn.
Into a little business, like a little business meeting.
If you had a. Because the thing is. Is like you can have the thing and it makes you feel a certain kind of way. But if you don't shift on the inside, how you see yourself, with or without it, which you. You've obviously figured out. And there's a. There's some kind of a process you went through to figure that out with yourself, to allow yourself to be in full power with or without them. Like just. You were saying with the makeup. So the real value in this. Yeah, I had no idea what you're talking about.
Bigger than a bra. Like Roman. I was like, well, and it's Even.
More valuable than the bra. So the bra is the thing to the thing, and the thing you're selling is the thing, not the bra. But the bra is the piece we use to get to the thing. And then there's the conversation you two are having around who this woman has to become now in this new identity. How do I find my surgery? The same reason I got the boob job in the first place. I had breast implants because they want to feel a certain kind of way. Now they're going a different. A different direction. And you just like, took away the thing that was making them feel that way. And particularly for women who were getting the sickness and feeling the illness. And now they will talk about it.
On your platforms about breast implant illness. Yeah. We. Shall we share stories of myself and the customers and I mean, the response has been amazing. Yeah, the stories. Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm telling you, we just did the, we did this in hair the last 10 years. Like what you're, what you're doing, it's just a different product, but it's solving the same problem for women, which is they want to feel beautiful, they want to feel sexy, they want to feel powerful. I mean, I can only imagine, like, how much it affects, like a woman when she, like. And seeing herself even sexually, like when it's not there anymore. Yeah. Like, did it, did it have a short term effect on you that way? Or were you able to make the shift because of the illness?
I think I shifted really well. I haven't cried a tear over not having my boobs. I get frustrated with swimwear, but I'm taking, taking my frustration and I'm turning it into a creation. So I'm creating swimwear now for women that don't have their boobs so that we could have boobs and feel confident on the beach, not just under our clothes.
I don't remember you emotionally.
Right.
We had a really nice trip. Where did we go?
Ohio.
Ohio. Since Ohio. It was snowing. We were there two weeks, I think, while she, like, healed and everything. It's fun.
Yeah. So the certainty factor comes from an unseen place in both of you. So what is the God conversation or the universe conversation or the soul conversation? Like what, what is the practice that you use and that you use? Like what, what have you done to develop yourself internally? Because we watch this inside of relationships where people are not grounded in this. You'll get somebody's very unconscious and shut off and like, don't get. And then you get somebody's trying to persist, pursue it, and it creates a conflict and occasionally get couples that finally get it. We're getting more and more that both are on this kind of soul journey of evolving themselves, growing themselves. Like, what is, what. What are the practices or stands that you have? Or what is the belief you have around God, around soul, around spirit for you, Danielle, let's start with you.
I believe in God. I pray. I have lived through a lot of crazy in my life. And I remember always feeling like we couldn't get out of it. I mean, going back young, like teenage years. And I, at one point, I was 22 years old. I had gone to California and I was like, I'm going to move here. And I went back and I saved $6,000 and I moved to California and I was there for 12 years. And I just kind of came into my adulthood and did what I needed to do for myself. And getting away, I think from my environment and. And doing things that I wanted to do for me put me in a really positive mindset. And I noticed that the more positive I was, the more positive things were happening for me. And so if I was happy and I was just in a positive state, things just kept going up and up and up. And I think now, like, I look at that, like when I'm having a bad day or if I'm. I'm like. I try to just make sure, like, my mindset is always right. Because with that things, things are going to happen. And if you go the other way and you start getting negative and you kind of just get in a bad space, then things spiral and go the other way. Things that I'll do to keep myself grounded, if I need to, I'll go to the beach. That's like big for me. I work out maybe six days a week, usually first thing in the morning. I need it for my mind. I like to look good physically, but for my mind, it's so great. I know some people will meditate on. I'm the other way around. I need to do something like hard and fast and crazy. And it actually calms me, I guess me focused for the day.
Got it.
So those are some of the things.
Do you have. Do you have any particular books or that you study or things you've read that have led to that or has it been most self discovery?
A lot of self discovery. I had read Many Lives, Many Masters years ago, and that was helpful. And I use. I. I've been writing poetry since I've been like 12 years old. I'm actually working on compiling all of these poems Together now and having a book put together and it's like this timeline of my life from the dark and the crazy times. Like kind of from like the victim mentality to the victor, you know, so it's awesome.
Yeah, awesome. Are you gonna actually do the book?
Yeah, I'm gonna do the book. I'm up to like 107, ready to go, like finally putting it together.
And are you gonna wait till you have like, like 365 or even?
No, no, I'm done. I'm actually just everything I had, I was just counting them.
That's what I knew.
And I'm like, wow, there's more than I even thought I had.
Right.
So yeah.
Okay. And how about for you?
So.
When I was in my early 20s, I stumbled across the book the Secret. And for whatever reason, it really, really affected me and inspired me and I felt, feel like I really lived by those steps and the standards of what they spoke about. And I think because of that I really manifested everything that I've had in my life, down to a Bentley and a ring and the house and the lifestyle and then even more than I had ever wanted. Sometimes I fall off and I forget about like how important self talk is and how important it is to be positive self talk and that manifestation is real and how strong that can be. And when I get back into it, I see the changes in my life. And so journaling has been really good to, for me mentally and just to keep myself on track and then also just to like reflect back to times that weren't as great and to see where I was and like where I am now. And maybe it's different in certain areas, but it's better overall. And yeah. So I think just manifesting and trusting your gut has always been really, really big and important in guiding me to where I am. And I think with all of that, like, being happy with yourself is super important. And when you're happy with yourself, like Danielle said, everything else around you seems to, to kind of just like gravitate and rise together.
So I try to like, oh like radiance. Like when you're happy, people are like, what are you taking? You're like, nothing. I'm just, I'm happy, you know? Yeah, so.
Yes, exactly.
What do you want?
Life. What are you on?
Nothing. That's life.
I'll mark, I'll mark the up print out calendar sheets that I used to do for working out that I still do. And instead of it being like a to do list, it's like this is what you've done list.
Yeah.
And I'll mark. Mark them with different highlighters. Like, if I worked out, drank a certain amount of water, if I, like, read, like, just whatever things that month might be going on for me that I want to be more mindful. And then I mark it every day so I could look back and be like, oh, this was really good for, like, 30 days. Or maybe it's just going to sleep earlier at night. Like, that might be something I get off of. And I know I do better when I get a certain amount of hours of sleep.
So you write it. You write it down.
I write it down. Literally, I'll make a little. Every day, years, I make a chart and each highlighter associated with. Yeah, yeah. Because. Because then I like to check in with myself.
Yeah.
Like, how are you doing? Like, you know, my. I'm all right. I've been sleeping well. I'm like, oh, of course. I've been in such a great mood and, yeah, productive because I'm drinking water, sleeping, and I've been taking straight.
Yeah, that's true, though. Like, there's been times where I'm like, why do I feel like I'm like, oh, I haven't been sleeping good. I haven't been taking care of my. You know, like, you fall off really.
Fast, and life goes so fast that sometimes I won't recognize what it is.
So that.
That's why I will write it down.
Is there anything that you two do together? Like, on, like, when it comes to just either it's working out or, like, spiritual practices, journaling together, writing poetry together? Is there anything you do together? Is most of it separate?
Go to meditations at the beach.
We'll go to, like, cacao ceremony or full moon ceremonies. It's really important. It's something we fell into and discovered in California when we were living there. I feel like it's a little.
It's where I proposed, actually. I propose that our meditation center. Yeah. Yeah.
When I was going through all of the shit in 2016, spirituality and finding, like, doing, like, the work on yourself and healing and all of that, it was very big for me in that time. And Danielle and I kind of went through that together. So. Yeah. Making sure that I'm being grounded, staying grounded and reflecting is important. I feel like. To, like, wheel it back in.
Okay. Do you have a. Do you have a regular cadence with that, like, every quarter, every six months?
Got it for me.
Whenever it's at least once a month.
I try, you know?
Yeah.
I need the quiet.
Yeah. We. We have started was a number of years ago, probably three years ago now, maybe four, where we just got real committed to a couple things. Date nights twice a week, overnight once a month, and then what every quarter a week, long gone away. Which is if you out of all that time.
So all that time, I think we forget sometimes, like, to have fun, you know?
Yeah.
You get so in work mode and kid mode and everything, and you do the date nights, but even then, it seems very, like, checklisty.
Yeah.
And so for us, like, we started doing, like, these little overnighters or, like, we'll do, like, two really big, like, out of the country trips. And that's, like, when I, like, feel like we have fun. I'm like, oh, yeah, I forgot. Like, we're fun together, you know? So it's like, for us, that kind of keeps us connected because it's hard to be, like, honeymoon status all the time, especially when you have kids and dogs and all the shit going on. So it's like recognizing when you kind of start to drift a little bit and you're like, hey, like, let's go put a pause on everything. We're gonna go to where, Greece. We're gonna go to wherever and, like, kind of travel. And a lot of times I would tell myself, oh, we have kids. We can't do that. And then I told him when we had our last two kids, I'm like, no, I'm like, we had too young, and then I had two when I'm a little bit older. And I was like, I'm not waiting to. We retired to travel and have fun, you know, so it's like, it's important, like, for us to live life now, even though chaos is always going on, you know, it's always.
That's just how life is always be. Yeah. We just want to curse sow after Christmas. And I think for the first 48 hours, we slept on the beach, the two of us.
Yeah.
Did nothing. And I'm like, we're fine.
We're great.
I'm like, I don't know why we ever get into anything. Like, we have nothing wrong with our actual relationship.
Yes.
Just all the noise.
Yeah, exactly. It's like you forget. Like, you're like, when we go on vacation, like, oh, yeah, I like you. Oh, hi.
We'll be like, a couple days in, and she will. We both get to a place about day three or four where we forget we have businesses, we forget we have kids, we have anybody else.
What's that?
Hey, you're great. Let's Go. Let's go again. Let's go do this. Let's go again. Let's go do this. It's fun. And then it's always the weird thought coming back on the flight, which. And for most of my guys, the same way, are like, bro, if we were just on vacation all the time, it'd be awesome.
Yeah, that's not reality.
Exactly.
That's what I say to Danielle. No, it's reality.
Why can't we go to an island, just call it a day?
Like, I'm fine.
But it's like, we create structure, too, though. Like, there's been times we went on vacation. I'm like, oh, I'm ready to, like, get back and, like, get on a routine, you know? So it's like finding that balance, because even, like, during the holidays, I get, like, antsy. I'm like, can we. Can January come? Like, there's too much. I need to get back on my routine. But I think routine's good. And running a business is good. As long as you have those moments as a couple of that, you're like, we got to check out from everything else right now.
Okay, so two more things, and we go wrap. But give me this one. Talk to me about the story behind the clothing line. Why are we doing this story?
But, well, so it's started. I think I was saying earlier, because I. I feel like there was a need for it. Like, if I want to wear clothes, I have to find brands that carry an extra small and men's. And sometimes it still needs to be tailored. Like, if I get men's pants, they're going to be cut too narrow. There needs to be room in the hips. So for me, it started there. And then Jen wanted to put her design on certain pieces. She has a background in the fashion industry, and what we started doing while we were creating this is the two pieces started kind of blending together, and we're like, this is so interesting. Like, I would try on something she was sampling that I would never wear, but it would look cute on me, but worn out differently than she would wear it. So then we had decided, like, we should just stick to, for the most part, like, the same color and the same material. So people have that options. Like, it's not sold as a set. So if you wanted to purchase, like, a hoodie and leggings or a crop sweatshirt, sweatpants that are more androgynous looking, you can do that. And it just. It's kind of like a unique way to, like, create your own style.
Everyone's style so unique. And so we just wanted to offer pieces that you could really like, one stop shop to, like, put your unique design or.
Yeah.
And we have, like, a lot of men purchasing the crop shirts, which I originally thought, like, that would be for women in it. And then, like, I was like. Jen had felt like the sweatpants were a little more masculine. But then we have so many boy.
Moms who, like, this is awesome because.
It'S like a deep zipper pocket. Like, I could put everything in the pocket. Like, women's sweats aren't like that. The pockets are shallow. So, yeah, it's. We're kind of like learning, I think, as we go. Like, we're. We're surprised. Like, like, that went down to different people we weren't expecting.
I was like, thinking about our two teenage daughters. Like, they were like triple XL all the time. I'm like, these are like, so little and they have like, these giants.
I love the pants. Well, it's all. And I didn't think about that. Yeah, all our sweats come with, like, pockets and great stuff in the back. Put my cell phone. Yours just like, nothing.
Yeah.
It's like, yeah, I've had anything on those aloe pants.
And if I buy like, a small men's sweatpants, like, I like my hips, like, it's so tight, but everywhere else it's big. And I'm like, this is gonna work.
Yeah. Then you have to go, like, way bigger in order to get it.
Is it. So is the clothing line going good so far?
Yeah, it's going well. Most of our items are 100 cotton, and the packaging is compostable. And what else am I for any.
It looks like nice quality. Like, it's good quality. Yeah.
I was like, oh, got the hoodie right there.
Wash it, abuse it. And then we'll go to production.
Is it mostly like, like, like comfy stuff and just like.
Or. So, yeah, we started. We started with that leisure. We've done some, I guess more like, what, Workout? Yeah, a little bit. Like, some things. Yeah.
Active wear. And eventually we'll do some swim because Danielle likes to wear like a. What is it called?
Style. I'll get. I'll go get Versace sports bras and then like, tailored in the back so they pull up more. And then I'll buy the men's bathing suit shorts, and I put together, like, the short ones.
I like the little tiny bikinis. And so for this line, like, that's what we'll do. I'm not going to focus on, like, the the top stuff?
Yeah.
Like, this line is just string bikinis and cute. So, yeah, I love it.
Like, it all pairs the couple clothing and I guess in a second.
Yeah. Well, that's kind of the style. Like I said, like, my girls are sometimes in, like, skimpy, skimpy. And then I'm like, what are you. Are those dad sweatpants? What are you wearing?
No, they take my. My girls take my stuff as much. They take their stuff literally. Like, half my closet's gone all the time. And they'll show up, and I'm like, those are mine. What do they say? It's.
It's all about how you style it, though. Like, you'll wear. There's all sorts of words.
Skippy toilets and stuff.
My girls, like, I'll. I'll joke around. I'll take all their keywords and I'll just run them. Completely inaccurate. The funny thing is Riz.
Bet the funny thing is when that word's not popular anymore, they're like, e. Did you just say Riz? I'm like, is that not cool anymore?
I said mid in the wrong context. I got so much for it. I'm like. I thought in the middle, you know, he's like, no, that's not mid. I'm like, I. I don't know. I try.
Is it fun mid being cool? We don't know.
Is it fun? We're at a place in life where, like, we literally have children who have language that we don't understand.
Makes you feel old. Like, I'm still cool. Like, I'm still cool. I'm cool.
Well, your trash talk needs some help.
We know that.
I had to tell her to stop giving. Giving Nico advice to go to school with. I'm like, don't say that to someone. You're going to get. Someone's going to make fun of you and beat you up. Do not listen to mom anymore.
Well, we have. We have one slight challenge in our house. It's all Danielle's fault. No, no. We have influential teenagers. So we live in a very authentic house, which is like, we're gonna fight in front of the kids, and we're not gonna fight. We're just. We don't care. And we're like, kids can be expressive and be who they want. This comes with a huge upside because there's lots of authenticity. This comes with the downside, which means there's lots of language and there's lots of other things. Come on. So I'm sitting there at volleyball, taking my daughter volleyball practice, and the five Year old is going with me and we have a 13 year old. We take him to volleyball. And Ruby is Spicy. She's at 13, she's in this super awesome. And then she's like, she's hormonal. And then awesome. And then the monster. And just like, okay, we're not sure we're getting. And she teases out her five year old sister. So she gets in the front seat and she's being, she's pushing her and like talking to Isla. And then Isla turns and goes, ruby, stop being such a. And I was like. Then she gets into the back seat of the car and she goes, dad, Teenagers. Wow.
Oh my God.
I'm like, oh my God. Children are you.
I know, Great.
Then our in laws are here and my mother in law's here and our three year old gets in a fight with the five year old. And my mother in law is very conservative and very conservative. And my three year old looks at the five year old and they're fighting back and forth and she goes, shut the upper.
Your three year old.
My three year old, you're. I always. Now you're gonna get something perfectly placed.
And she looks at me, I go, it's kind of perfectly placed. I mean, I don't know what to tell her. That was kind of a good one. But.
I blame my 18 year old. She says the F word like it's like a. Just any word. And I'm like, hey, kids like language. And then like my 3 year old's like. And I'm like, it's kind of cute though. They keep saying it more in public. And I'm like, okay, we're gonna put some. You gotta stop saying that.
And well, having teenage daughters, they also taught the young ones when they were little how to twerk.
Oh yeah.
Oh God.
So they're like the five year old and three year old will be like, we'll be out with the family and they'll be up on the edge of the thing in the restaurant just twerking people. I'm never embarrassed.
I'm just like, come here.
You like take that back.
Exactly. So you two moving forward, what's the thing you're most grateful for? Like just if you look back at this the last like seven years you two been together, what's the thing like from both of you that you're just, you feel like, man, I'm just like so grateful. This is part of our life where we've pulled this off or we've accomplished this. I think one of the hard parts in Creating anything and building anything is if we don't look back, we're always looking forward to go create something bigger and do the next thing. Now we're doing the clothing line, and it needs to be. Be this. And it's always never as good as we want it to be, because we want it to be over there. And then when it's over there, we want it even further. And then we just keep kicking the ball down the road. So to wrap up, what's the thing like that you're just the most grateful for from just the journey? It could be several things, but just. It could be just a feeling, or it could be specifically, here's. Here's what I'm proud of myself for. Here's what I'm proud of us for. And looking back on that, what we found for ourselves, doing that is it just reminds us how much we've actually done and how much we've overcome to get here. And we've slowed down recently and, like, not really slowed down, but we've slowed down to have those moments in the last six weeks where we have to.
Go, we'll get so caught up in business. And I'm like, hey, if you. If I'm like, imagine eight years ago, us, and we, like, saw a glimpse in our life right now, we'd be.
Like, holy, we did it.
Yeah.
So it's like you have to take those moments where even though you're focused on the future, you have to be grateful for how far you've come. Right.
So let's have a little gratitude.
I'd say, in myself, I'm really grateful for the courage that I've showed, not only in leaving and stepping out of that last relationship, but also in putting myself out there and being in this relationship in a world and society where it's not a thousand percent accepted. And then also for investing in myself and taking the risk on myself. Because starting a business when you. When I was with my ex and I had a swimwear line, if it failed, oh, well, it failed. It didn't. It did great. And to have the financial means to just do it from someone else is so much easier. But when you're putting up all the risk yourself and you're taking the risk yourself and you don't have a partner, and if it fails, it's all on you. And what are people going to say and think? And, like, I still push through that. And I'm still pushing through that. So pat on my back for having the courage to, like, do all the things and, like, Be here. And I'm, and I'm. I am usually very afraid of public speaking. So for me to even be accepting and doing podcasts, this is now my second or third one. It's a lot for me because I used to get very uncomfortable talking about myself and talking to people and being on camera in a way that is me and not a character because I did modeling and acting and things. And it's easy to beat somebody else, but to then show up as yourself, I feel like that takes courage.
So I think that's great though that you're doing that because that will take your brand to a whole nother level. You know what I mean? It's like, because you're, you're like beautiful. But then it's like people want to see the real piece of you and that's really what's going to get them to connect and really like purchase your guys things, you know. So kudos to you for doing that. Last year we did the same thing. I was like, we gotta, we gotta do podcasts, we gotta get out there. Because we used to do just us and we didn't have guests on. And it's been so fun having guests because I'm like, oh, you're like, you're normal human, cool people, you know, and it's just you never know when a relationship's gonna reconnect and I genuinely believe that. So I would encourage you to keep doing that because it'll come full circle. And we have found that with a lot of our relationships this last year and have created some really cool opportunities. And it might not come right away, but all of a sudden, six months down the road you're like, oh, I'm thinking of this person. And then everything kind of comes, connects. So kudos to you for, for doing that.
I'm going to say two things. Number one, you are doing great.
Thank you.
Yeah, I wouldn't have known. This is your second podcast.
Yes, you are, you are doing, you are doing great. And the second piece, five years ago I said we're doing podcasts. No, six years ago. And she's like, I would not. She was so this, I couldn't get her. She was so much same social anxiety to like walk in and be around people and like pressure. Oh my God.
Because you can be somebody else online.
You know, talking to these. She was the anti social social media girl which like, I want a one way broadcast. I don't want to comment. I don't want you to look at me. I gave her even this. I did. I Was so proud of.
Wait, what'd you call it? The NFL?
Would you say Super Bowl?
Super Bowl.
We watched an episode last night. I gave her this, and I'm like, ready for the big reveal? I'm having a moment. Big. I put a car on your finger. And I'm so stoked.
Where are we gonna wear that?
She's sitting right here on the couch right there. And because of this. This desire to be seen, not seen, that she's gone through, she's grown so much from. It is. I know my wife now, so I know. I'm like, in the past, I'd be all offended. I'm like, why are you not running.
Around screaming, jumping on me? What are you doing?
And she's like, oh, it's. It's. It's real big.
It's really nice.
I'm like, that's not. That's. That's my man Minds. Like, that's not going the way. That's not going the way I was supposed to go. What? What? But I understand it, too, because it. It forces her to be seen. And on the podcast and getting her the communicator she is now, like, you keep doing this. I'm telling you, she rips in front of 5,000 people and will crush it. Oh, gosh.
It becomes more normal. Like, you're just. Like, you can't. And it makes you feel untouchable. You're like, you can put me in a room with anybody. I don't care how much money you make, because you know who you are. And it's just a skill set that you have to exercise more often because you have that certainty. And so for me, it was like, just again, just getting out there and speaking, being more comfortable. Like, now I could go speak on a stage and meet people that are, like, really incredible people. And I'm like, cool. I'm gonna be me. You're gonna be you. You know?
So I'm telling you, you two should do a show together.
We did, but we just filmed.
Like, a friend of ours flew in and, like, asked us questions while we were filming. Is that what you're talking about? Like, a podcast show?
Well, when we had the YouTube channel, but then we kind of slowed down with it.
Yeah, YouTube. So you're both beautiful and you both communicate well. You have different energies. You two doing a podcast. Here's what I'll do for you to. It will compel you two to have conversations that you would not normally have. It's weird. Like, even for us, that's why most of Ourselves having therapy with each other. Half our shows are just fighting on the show about.
Well, it's like I kind of found my voice a little bit.
I was on the show.
Okay, yeah.
She found it here.
And I realized I'm like, oh, I don't speak up about that. Or I don't talk about that, or people have this opinion of me, and I'm not like that, you know? So it kind of helps people connect with you. And you're gonna get haters. You already do. So you're like, whatever. At least you're gonna like me for who I am, you know?
Right.
So you're winning, so good job. That was amazing. You nailed it, and you're doing it, and I would have never guessed. Listen, I speak professional. This is what I do. I speak train, Trans Doom. I do the thing like, I'm at the top of the game in the world at this. You're doing great. That was amazing. Like I told you from the time you first started sharing, and it's so. It's not often you have very beautiful women. Very beautiful women are powerful women. They. They struggle with this certainty in their energy when they start speaking, they can look beautiful. And you look at them and you're like, God, you're beautiful. And then they start talking. You're like, oh, just not a lot of belief in yourself. And that's. It's sad to watch. Right. You have it. Do a show together and put the dogs on the floor, and life's gonna work great. Get a Jada, Put the dogs on the floor, Do a podcast. Like, these lines are going to rip. You're up. Gratitude.
Gratitude. Well, when Jen was talking about the public speaking, I remember feeling that way, too. Right. When we. When we first started doing direct sales in 2020, we both had that issue where we were, like, so nervous. And I was thinking to myself, I actually wasn't nervous coming here today. Like, it was okay. So I'm grateful for that. I'm grateful for the life that we have created and built together. We are doing all the things that we said we were going to do, and I feel that we are going to continue to do that and expand for 2025. So I think I'm. That's probably what I'm most grateful for, that when we have a vision to do something, that we are able to come together and push it forward and make it happen. And I'm grateful for my resilience and all.
Well, I see the same thing in you. I see the same thing. It's fun it's like. It's like I see a piece of me and you like so much of me and you. And I'm like, I just watch him. Like, I get it, and I get the game and what you're building and what you're committed to. Like, keep going with this. Like, it just. You. You metal. YouTube made so many shifts and changes in the last six, seven years. It's just a lot. It's a lot of shit. A lot of moves, A lot of directional changes. It's a lot. And we didn't get, like, we didn't get where we are because we had it all figured out. Most days ago, I don't even know if this is gonna work. Like. And then our relationship had problems, but the business. Getting a Jada will be. I'm telling you, just trust her from the depths of my soul. It will help you too, so much because it creates this connect, allows a more frequent connection to be there. Because this other thing always gets in the way of people doing business together, which happens, affects everybody. That's why we ask it because, like, it affects every couple that's building something together where we're crossing the money game with, like, the marriage. And it's like, so much all at once. So where do we go for the clothing line? Where would we go? Do we have anything online right now?
Yeah. Tell the listeners where they can go.
So you're gonna go to www.shopaligned.com. a L N A L G N D. Okay.
Shop aligns.
If you just go to our social medias.
Okay.
Where to search? And they're going to be the links in bios.
Okay, those will be there?
Yeah.
Okay, so we'll put all the information.
All the right links there.
Yeah.
Danielle won't put the links there, but our teams will do that. That's too much detail. Okay, so the social media where we're going for you.
My name Danielle Torello.
Okay. Danielle Torrello. I like it. Can you say Tortorello Torello.
Did I say it right? I was trying to bring out Italian.
Hello. Okay, got it. All right. And.
And then my name as well. Jennifer Stano.
Okay, perfect. And they can find the links to the bras as well as.
So, yeah, we have a page for aligned and for original self on Instagram as well. We both also have platforms on Tik Tok too, for Tik Tok nation and the.
Did you panic for 10, 10 hours?
No, I went and joined that red note real quick. It was awesome. It's the Chinese app.
I'm like, you went to another Chinese app.
Understand this thing. But it's cool.
My kids, my. Our 70 year old was like, when it went down, she was like, tik Tok's gone. Trump's present. We lost Tik Tok. And then she's like, she deleted her.
She deleted it? Yeah.
Why?
Because she was like, oh, no.
She deleted her Tik Tok account. And she's like, I guess it's over. Delete. She's super fast reactionary to like, me.
She's like, but she said she can't download it now.
She can't.
Well, you heard that.
Deleted it.
She deleted. Deleted it.
You. Once you delete it, you can't get it back for some weird reason. So if you had it, you had it.
Our 13 year old's looking at her gone.
I almost did, but I have, like no followers on Tik Tok. I was like, I don't care.
Our 13 was more strategic about it. She's like, she's like, I knew it was coming back.
I talked to Amber. Amber's like, it'll be back in five hours. And it was so funny.
Well, you two have been absolutely amazing on the show. Thank you for being here. I think the thing is so fun for, I think for a lot of our audiences. For us, like, we've been. We're like a conservative. Not conservative family. People are like, you're the same from conservative. But we, but we are like, we.
Have the kids and like, what I.
Mean by, like a deep, connected way to family and to life and to relationships and doing what's best for people's families. And at the same time, we have like, wild ideas about everything. And so having you on the show, you're the first lesbian couple, gay couple on our show and we love it. I think it's fantastic. My daughter was super stoked that you were coming on the show. She was like, oh, my God, they're coming. They're so excited. It's so great because been following you guys too. So thank you for being so powerful in who you are just as individuals and as a couple. Because regardless of whether a heterosexual homosexual couple, regardless what it is, most couples are just falling apart. And if more couples like you two and us can continue to take a stand for what love looks like, what fighting through hardship looks like, together and staying together and having the courage to do what's required, we're going to be able to turn a lot of people's lives around. So thank you so much.
Thank you for having us.
