Podcast episode (Date Your Wife series) featuring Garrett J. White and Danielle White in a freewheeling conversation about fashion, shopping habits, and how appearance affects self-confidence and relationships. Now you have one piece of particular items that you have a big addiction with. This, which is ridiculous.
You know what it is? Okay, if any girl is into fashion, you ask them. Shoes and handbags, because you couldn't. Yes, those.
I'm not worried about those. That's not what this other addiction is. Ridiculous in your shopping.
What is it?
It's not bucket hats, because that's the only bucket I see anywhere. You know what it is? You can't walk through a goddamn airport without buying something.
Oh, God. And sunglasses, too.
Exactly. Not like $20.
I have this tradition, and I only do it in Cancun. You give me about it every time. I'm like, I just do it to spite you. Even if there's not a pair I like in there, I'm like, oh, I'm getting these.
You have like 120 pairs of sunglasses.
You have 120 pairs of workout warrior T shirts. Warrior T shirts.
Do you know how much these warrior T shirts are?
Nobody is impressed by your $3 shirt.
$3. Don't go down that path. These are like $12. I'm bulk order from next level.
That's how much this hat was.
Yeah, well, you know how many 12$t shirt or $20t shirts I can get for the number of sun. And ladies and gentlemen, welcome to this week's date your wife podcast. And fighting out of the blue corner, Danielle, AKA the shade white, is here in studio with us to battle it out wearing her lampshade hat straight from the Fendi store. Listen, why are you wearing a lampshade on your head today?
So we literally just got back from Cancun and I didn't have time to wash my hair, so. So we do two podcasts in one day and I was like, it's gonna have to be a hat day. Plus, this hat's awesome.
Is it only awesome because it looks like a lampshade and they put Fendi logos on it?
Yeah, everything about it's awesome.
So you could pretty much take Fendi and put on anything and it looks like it.
The bucket hats are really cute and trendy right now, so I feel like I would wear this.
It's called the bucket hat.
It's called the bucket hat.
At least they're calling it what it looks like.
Yeah, I just was. I put this on and I was like, oh, I'm on camera. Can you see my face? Can you see?
Why does it have a handle that goes underneath your chin? You just strap a little.
Like Gilligan's Island?
No, like a real Bucket. Just take the handle since it's upside down on your head and just put a little handle under your chin.
I don't know. Why do you wear a warrior T shirt every day?
Make it gold. Make it like little drubies or diamonds, like from one side to one side. Yeah, yeah. Fashion's weird. You have an addiction. Yeah, it's a weird addiction.
No, I really like hats though. And I.
No, you don't have a hat addiction. No, I don't have shopping.
No, I really. It's kind of like a creative outlet that can turn into a slippery slope of an addiction.
No, you have one piece of particular items that you have a big addiction with, which is ridiculous.
You know what it is? Okay, if any girl that is into fashion, you ask them shoes and handbags because you couldn't. Yes, those.
I'm not worried about those. This other addiction is ridiculous. And you're shopping.
What is it?
It's not bucket hats because that's the only bucket I've seen anywhere. You know what it is? You can't walk through a goddamn airport without buying.
Oh God. In sunglasses too.
Exactly. Not like $20 sunglasses.
I have this tradition and I only do it in Cancun. You give me about it every time. I'm like, I. So now I just do it despite you. Even if there's not a pair I like in there, I'm like, oh, I'm getting these.
You have like pairs of sunglasses.
You have 120 pairs of workout warrior warrior T shirts.
Do you know how much these warrior T shirts are?
Nobody is impressed by your $3 shirt.
$3. Don't go down that path. These are like $12 on bulk order from next level.
That's how much this hat was.
Yeah, well, you know how many 12$t or $20t shirts I can get for the number of sunglasses you have? I'll bet you have. I'll bet you have.
But. Well, here's what's so funny.
I bet you have a hundred thousand dollars in a sunglasses.
It's on brand for me. So basically. Basically it's on brand. So it's kind of like how you buy like 19 new gadgets and like you go into your. In any of the offices, I'm like, do we need $300,000 of equipment? You're like, we do. And I'm like, do you use half of it? And you're like, we do. I'm like, but do we? So you know, hey, that's on brand for you. Your six dollar T shirt and this Bucket hat is on brand.
Why have you gone from 12 down to 6? When I told you it was 20.
I was like, maybe I'll give you 6, I don't know about 12. I'm trying to dig.
You're like trying to just dig at me. You're like ha, yeah, haha. For my.
You started the show talking about my uncle's hat. Okay, fashion's weird. I'm jealous.
I think fashion is pretty.
Hey, but you know what though? Here's what's funny is like men won't buy them. Most men won't buy themselves stuff. Some men buy them high fashion dress. Like literally you've been wearing. Okay, this is funny. We went to Cabo. This was no Punta Minta probably. This was like five years ago. There was this random boutique. We went in, I think I got a Zimmerman dress. And you saw these like slides and they were like $80. And you sat and tried those slides on for like 45 minutes. I was like, those are damn $80 slides. Just buy them.
No, don't, don't know. That's like taking a clip of Trump saying something and then you make a sweat.
Like I had tried on like swimsuits and I'm like, are you still trying on those slides?
Tried on six swimsuits and you were.
Still trying on the slides.
What was I supposed to do while you're doing all this trying on? I mean I by myself.
But here's the kicker, you guys.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Here's the kicker.
Pause, pause, pause, pause, pause. You're not going to throw me under the bus. Like I sat and made love to some slip ons for 45 minutes. I continue to hang out with these said slip ons because I was by myself as my wife was making love to six pairs of swimsuits and 42.
Blouses and a bunch of COVID ups.
And a bunch of other bullshit she doesn't need. So I was like, hey, I need one thing. I'm gonna get these sandals right here, $80.
But here's the kicker.
So great slip ons. They've lasted me five years.
I still wear a little shoe. I look over exactly, smack them together.
That shit's gonna work another five years.
I'm like, babe, you're still wearing those shoes. And you're like, oh, it's fine, I can glue them. So I'm like, oh my gosh. And you would like wear them with these like nice David August pants and like your glue on.
But they are vintage.
Yeah. So anyways, I You were like, I don't need anything for my birthday and Father's Day. And I was like, I don't really care. And so I went and bought you a pair of nice Prada slides. Because I was like, man, he's really gonna get his use out of these Prada slides. I mean, he wore those $80 beach slides for five years with designer pants.
Until I'm 60, I'll wear them on my 60.
I mean, that's why I don't listen to you ladies. And you just buy your man stuff and you're like, just put it on and don't think.
I don't. I just put it on and I don't think. I just wear it. That's where I got these Instagram pants.
They look like Instagram pants.
No, they don't. They look like awesome pants. What? They look like Instagram pants. I got the good Nike SBS going on. Like, these are like, these Nike.
This is the struggle is like, I buy you nice stuff, and you're like, where am I gonna wear?
I'm like, yeah, where am I going? I'm not wearing it to work.
I'm like, on a podcast where people see you that you're gonna put up and promote on social media.
This is what I'm promoting. My brand. Warrior brand. Where's my brand? Not David August. Warrior's my brand. Not shoes.
You don't like to. Men don't like to buy things for themselves. So every once in a while, I don't listen to you, and I buy you a few nice things.
That's a good move.
And then you like them. And then they're like, even I bought you the man bag, and I didn't like it.
I thought it was quite gay.
But you. The whole trip were like, this is great. I can put my keys in here. I can put my wallet in here. I can put my whatever in here. Do you want?
All the power of influence, you know, Alex is cool.
I didn't have to carry a person. I was like, babe, can I slap my lip gloss in there?
Do you know why I got cool with it?
Why?
Because on the way to the airport, I was on Instagram and I saw Joe Rogan with a fanny pack. So you were like, I really like Joe Bogan. He's wearing a fanny pack.
Was it a designer fanny pack?
I don't know.
Hmm.
It was probably like, the Fendi bucket hat.
Probably was.
It was like, a little black one. But I was like, he's wearing a fanny pack. He's in his 50s. Are we doing fanny packs again?
Side note, my Tumi bag is ripped.
Your suitcase?
Yes.
Where?
The whole side. Like it looks like somebody took a.
Knife and went, is it cut or just is it ripped?
No, the material. Because you know how there's like the, like the material in between that you can expand the bag. It sliced open. I was like, it is. I was like, that's what happens when you fly Delta first class.
Oh, hold on. Are you serious?
Yeah. So anyways, that has nothing to do with.
Is there too many insurance?
No, but we bought it in Nordstrom's and it's only two months old and so I'm sure they will take it back. I know. That's why I was irritated. I was irritated like number one, how shitty the service was. And then I was irritated when we got back, looking at my bag that had a freaking rip in it that's only two months old.
I was like, I'm a loop is back for a second. Then we'll come back to this flight of situation. So the reason why guys don't like to buy shit like this is because guys have not been taught that it matters. What have guys been taught? Get paid and then shut the fuck up. That's what I've been told. So if as long as getting, getting dressed for most guys doesn't lead to.
Getting dressed, I would say on a day to day basis though, like, I'm not like, I love fashion and it is kind of like a creative outlet. And I really do think I have a good eye for putting things together and like it's fun for me. Like I know I have a good eye for it, but I also really love wearing my Lululemon and my aloe and being comfortable. I'm a mom, I'm like running around. I'm not going to be super dressed up. But I like for me, I enjoy doing it for you. It's not fun for you. If anything, it stresses you out for you. You're like, oh, I wish somebody could just pack me. It's stressful for you. And I'm like, oh my God. I bought like six new dresses just for this trip. I'm so pumped about it. So, so just saying like it's not like some men it might be fun for, but for. And some women are like me. Like I talked to what's her name? Carnahan, Whitney. And she's like, I just, I can't. It's stressful for her. So I think it goes both ways. Like it's for me, I enjoy doing It.
I walk up to my closet, and I open it, and I look in there, and I immediately get overwhelmed. I'm like, fuck this closet. And I go over to my drawers, and what do I got? I got my Instagram pants, right? I got my Warrior T shirts. I go to my other closet. I have, like, nine pairs of Nikes. I pick a pair of Nikes. I pick my same Lululemon socks, my same Lululemon underwear, black Lululemon underwear, black Lululemon low socks, a pair of Nikes, Instagram pants. I don't even know what the brand is. And my Warrior tee. And then I go and I got some cool jackets for that we have made for Warrior.
I do the same thing. I have a whole drawer of black Lululemon leggings. And every day I wake up, brush my teeth, put on leggings, go work out, come back, open the same damn drawer. Because even Bailey's like, mom, you have, like, 75 pairs of black Lulu pants. I go. Because I wear them twice a day. I need that. Like, so I do the same thing. But then it's like. Like, again at night, like, when most people are, like, scrolling social media and stuff, I'm like, oh, that's cute. And that's cute. And that's cute.
So you wear a set. You have 75 pairs of black Lulu pants because you wear two a day.
Yeah, I need 70.
So, like, would you only do laundry, like, every three months?
Well, I probably could get rid of at least 60 of them, but I.
Guess the same three months.
I also have daughters that come in my room and take all my pants, so I never know when they're gonna go.
I know they're constantly ripping it. So this entire game of clothes is a tough one for guys. I can say for certain that having tailored clothes has made me feel more powerful.
Well, that's what I noticed in you. I remember, like, back when you owned mortgages, you had a guy that came and, like, suited you up, and you carried yourself back different knowing that you had a guy.
We had custom suits back then, and they were still, like, NBA basketball player, 1997.
Yeah, they're bad. But then you. We. We lost everything. And you literally, like, gave everything away, or. I don't even know what you did. You just got rid of it. Like, you were like, I'm not that guy. Like, burn it all. I don't know. And then I remember it was like you were always. You were still stressed about what to wear for date nights and this and that, and that's When I introduced you to David August, I was like, hey, why don't you have get their stuff then you don't have to worry about it. And I do notice any guy in a well fitted suit, like he carries himself differently. So although he might care about the suit, he physically carries himself with with more certainty, which certainty then sells.
But it's not just like every suit. It's like tailored clothes, changes the way a guy feels about himself, even bodies. I mean if your body looks great, you can kind of wear a lot of things. You look great. But even if your body's average with like great custom clothes on, you can look really good. And guys don't do that because we've just not been taught to do. It's like when you, you first tricked me into doing that was you got me a gift card. When David August, whose kids went to our kids school, they Both went to St. Catherine's or St. Anne St. Catherine's.
I remember I spent like three, five hundred dollars. And Chad was like, oh, the starting suit's like eight grand.
I was like, oh, well you got me a gift card. And David always would come into the gym at the activities and I was wearing Lulu pants and a warrior tee and like still wearing it, Reebok shoes or something. And he would walk into the, all the meetings for the kids and all the kid events. And I know, well he should do they look like a male model. 24, seven different outfits, all fancy scarves and probably some Fendi bucket hats. He's like probably doing some like that too. Amazing human being, by the way. And you would always talk about, see how nice he looks. And I was like, him, dude, I don't even.
That's why you gift card. I was like, I'm gonna go straight to this horse.
And then I went to Dave and Chad. Dave August was there and Chad. What's Chad's last name? Camera Chad. Chad's actually my guy that does all the, all the. He has. No, I can't remember doing clothes for me since 2017. That's fucking bad. Anyways, we'll jack him up here in the show so you can get to him. But he's our local guy here in Orange county because David's too big, doing too much big stuff right now. They actually clothe a ton of the entrepreneurs I know, et cetera. Now they made me suit.
If you go to my website, I'm wearing, that's a David Arias custom three piece suit. I was like, do you guys make women's clothes? They're like, no. And I. But can you. I feel powerful in it. I like it. It's on the COVID of my website.
And I said, for you again.
But the thing is, is I really value custom everything because I'm such a tiny human. I forever. I've always had to. Things had everything altered. I'm like, nothing fits me. Everything's like a foot too long or too big in weird spots. So for me, like, something that fits good. It just. You just. You can see the difference. Like, so I've always felt like I've had to had all of my things tailored. So I was like, well, I see the value in it, but I mean.
Yeah, I think that you can look at relationships that way. Having somebody that's custom tailored for you, you could be with anybody. You could wear any pair of pants, even if they were too big.
You know what? Okay, wait, before you go there, I think that everybody should have a professional in their area. Meaning, like, I'll see women that are like, super powerful women and their hair does not line up with how beautiful and powerful they are. But this is what I'm saying. But they don't see it.
So they're not shitty extensions.
But here's what I'm saying. They don't see it. They're not the professional. It's not their job. So I almost think of it as, like, for me, as a hairstylist, it's like my job to be like, hey, you're too polished to have this kind of hair extensions. We see it a lot in Orange County. I'm like, let me just give you some hair that's gonna represent how powerful you are. And even like, Whitney, she came in and she was wearing these crappy extensions. She's like a business, like, mom entrepreneur, does fitness.
She has a large fitness program.
She does fitness programs, does fitness shows. And I, I looked at her and I was like, your hair does not represent you. And she was like, ah, no, I just feel bad. I just don't want to justify the money and all these things. And I was like, let me transform your hair and you'll never go back. The person you become, you'll notice. So she's like, okay. So she finally gets her husband. Because I'm not cheap. I'm like, hey, you can shop me all day long. I know what I can do. So she came in, I gave her the full experience. It's not even about the hair, though. Like, I gave her the full experience, right? And when I look at somebody's hair, I don't even Ask them what they want to do. I'm like, here's what we're gonna do and here's why. Because I can see their skin tones, I can see their length. And then I'm like, hey, what do you think about that? And they're like, that sounds great. And so people trust that I can transform them and do that. And so when they leave in a. I think is why, like, I'm very passionate about what I do. And everybody has a passion of what they do. And I remember she was leaving and she literally like, almost like, like teary eyed. And she was like, oh my God.
And it was like all those women cry.
What I love is when they look in the mirror and it's like they finally see themselves for who they are. And I'm like, ah, I love doing that. You know what I mean? I'm like, I love that you feel amazing. And then I'm like, I always like joke around. I'm like, sorry, not sorry, like you're addicted, you know? And they're like, ah. But it's fun to see them like carry themselves differently.
50, 60, maybe 70 of my guys wives go to NBR salons either here in Laguna or around the country. Every couple, every couple months you get them done. And we've seen it all with them too. Harrison's interesting because it's the one thing you can truly deliver transformation in less than four hours. Like you can walk in and it's like complete transformation, like four hour transformation.
But my point is it's like, so you might not look at something and be like, oh, I like this warrior tee. And that's fine. But then it's like somebody who like your caliber when you get on stage, like, you need to like represent. And you might not care about it, but that's why you hire a professional to do it. And then when you step on stage, you're like, oh, that's why I hired these guys. Same thing I see with the women that do the hair. They're like, oh, I don't need it. I don't want to justify it. I don't care. And then you look at them on stage, they physically carry themselves different. I'm like, I think you were that you up there.
Like, you know what the biggest flex is? It's not hair extensions. It's not boob jobs. It's not pants or clothes or shoes, cars, houses, watches, none of it. One thing biggest flexible, your physical body. Because it's the one thing you can't buy. I mean, you kind of can plastic surgery. You can kind of buy it. You can get a bbl and your ass is huge. All right, There's a few things you can do. You can get tits. You can be a dude and get tits. Speaking of which, a dude with tits. One Miss America, Miss Maine.
It's weird.
Yeah. Really? He's not even committed. Here's my feelings about this. I'm gonna give you 13 seconds, okay?
Oh, you're not telling me you're a man. Why do we need to go off on this one?
No, I'm not. I just get my 13 seconds. My show. If you call yourself a woman, but you are born a man and you want to be treated as a woman, here's my only requirement. Cut your dick off. That's it. You don't even keep your balls. Cut your dick and your balls off.
I feel like it's like a functionality thing, maybe.
No, they do this. It's a surgical procedure. The committed trans women. These committed women, AKA maybe they want.
The best of both worlds. No, they don't.
Just put it out there. I know they do do it. My daughters came in confirmed.
Oh, my God. My. She don't get in on this.
I don't. I'm not even trying to start a fight. I'm just saying here's where I respect. Here's the transform I respect, which is a dude who wants to be a woman shows his commitment, he gets a boob job, and he cuts his dick and balls off.
I really like this Fendi hat.
You're trying to change the subject right now.
I know your stance on this.
I'm like, well, they just selected Miss Maine.
Okay?
Was a dude.
Why can't you just like people for.
And here we are, dudes dominating chicks again. Even girls. Guys are beating girls in beauty pageants.
I mean, I'm just saying. We're just proving that dudes are better at everything. Showing that. He's like, did you know this is a guy? I'm like, that is not a guy. That's the prettiest woman I have ever seen. She's like, that is a dude. I'm like, wow.
Yeah, there's. There's pretty dude. There's some pretty hot dudes with dicks. Not gay at all. But I'm telling you right now, you go to town.
Where are we going with the show?
I thought down Miss Alabama. Let's go the other extreme.
Okay, no, don't talk.
Miss Alabama. Miss America just won last weekend. Oh, boy, it gets spicy.
Just because she has a friend.
Number two Number two was like a two time Miss Alabama. Hey, lean mean shredded blonde girl.
Okay.
Number three, brunette, little latina inner lean mean, super talented singing machine.
Everybody's story.
Oh, I don't have to know the story. She's a giant house number one. She is the. She is morbidly obese.
But maybe they're trying to show that they're not just going off dudes and.
Fat chicks should win beauty contests.
I mean I don't know.
I'm just asking. That's the message I'm getting is a guy.
It takes a lot of courage who.
Are morbidly obese and dudes with dicks should beat women in beauty contest.
It takes a lot of courage to.
Get on beast and win a championship. You never know you're a giant ass 300 pound woman. There's nothing sexy about that. You can't.
It's not healthy category is there? It's not healthy. Some people might be into that.
You can't even find a vagina.
Okay, well some people, if you were.
A dude with her, you can't even find it.
You don't even know if you're right. This show went real.
You got like slabs everywhere. You might be in the wrong angle. It might feel like the right place.
You still haven't even got just waiting for this to go somewhere.
Don't judge other people to my list.
Yeah.
Give it just to my guys. They'll get, they'll appreciate it.
Yeah, they're most. Some of the shows we do, people be like, her husband's an.
Yes, I am. And I'm off Feel free. Which means I'm full.
That's what it is. I'm like, why does he keep interrupting me so much? It's cuz you got more energy.
Yeah, well, it's not going away. I'll tell you right now. Like when, when I'm not on the sedation machine with Feel free.
There you go. Feeling the beast mode come back.
Beast mode. Beast mode is how I built everything. So we needed a period of time to slow down, let everyone else catch up. Now time to go. Let him chase again.
Hey, I, I am attracted to this guy. I just sometimes I have to. I think I used to always be like, where are we at? And then I'm like, oh, he's. He's in orc mode. He's in grind mode. He's in event week. And so like you'll say stuff and you'll be like, I'm not angry. I'm like, I know you're not angry. I know you're in, like, work mode, but I still have to have, like, moments where I'm like, bring in. Make an effort to be less reactive. Bring in the softer version of Garrett.
Yeah.
So it's like, it's a give and take. I feel like I see, like, I like the spicy version of you. I like this. I would way rather see you, this guy, than sedated 247 guy. Like, I'm like. I'm like, that's not. I would rather. Rather have that. I'd rather have the ups and the downs than the complete numbness. But I also feel like we've worked a lot on our communication in this last year, big time. And working on, like, how to communicate, how to read each other, how to effectively, like, get what we want. Because sometimes we'd get in an argument for, like, nothing. And even now, what I've noticed, like, we used to get in an argument and, like, sit in it for a few days. And now we get in an argument and both of us in, like, five minutes are like, this is stupid. Why are we arguing?
Then we have sex.
Well, I mean, almost every time, it's because you always. I don't care.
Somehow, for whatever reason, we fight. You're like, you. And I'm like. And I was like, what? And then I take that as a literal invitation, so I go for it.
I just don't.
Like, she meant to say me, so I'm gonna go. I'm just gonna. I'm just gonna assume, you know, you.
In the past used to be the more pouty one. Like, I used to have to come aggressively get you and be like, we're having sex right now. You need to just get over your feelings.
Yeah, I used to have some pouty.
You used to literally, like, go. Go downstairs. And I'd be like, are you serious right now? I did that.
And so not proud of those years.
Yeah. But what I'm saying is, like, now I actually like when you, like. I'm like, oh, cool. Like, we just yelled at each other, but you still want to have sex. Like, I'm like, I hate when you get shut down, pouty. Because then I think it's like, then I get kind of, like, shut down. Not necessarily pouty, but more closed off. And so it's like, sometimes you're just gonna yell at each other, and then you just gotta get it out of the way.
So back to the body.
I was like, this show has gone nowhere.
This show's gone so many places that people just Love it.
Come back. Some shows I'm like, so feeling so inspired. And some shows, I'm like, I hope you guys got a good laugh. I mean, I don't know.
Come back to the body topic. It's one piece. It's the one thing you can't buy. You legitimately have to earn it. Like, I'm walking around looking at the dudes in Mexico, everyone at the resort, everyone walking around. 95% of the people are fat. Man tits everywhere.
But here's. Here's what I'll tell you, though. It's expensive, though, like, to have man tits. Yeah. Because you gotta eat all of them.
No, Just go to fucking Taco Bell.
It's like, I used to. I was telling you this in Cancun. I was like, hey, I used to look at celebrities and be like, they have no excuse. Like, they should. They can hire the top of everybody.
Yeah.
Like, literally, like, there should be, like, no excuse. But there's also a requirement of work and effort, right? So you and I, we've hired, you know, personal trainers, nutritionists. We. I mean, I don't do the steroid things. I tried some peptides for, like, a second, and I was like, no, thank you. But it's expensive. Like, it requires discipline, but it's. It's. It's an expensive sport. Like bodybuilding itself. You look at the membership and the trainers and the diet and everything. It's not cheap. It would probably be cheaper to hit at McDonald's every other night, of course. Oh, my gosh. See our broken daughter in the background who.
I was like, McDonald's for seven bucks.
Literally. Like, I don't buy the exact food. She tells me all the time, we have no food in the house. I'm like, no, we don't have crap that's with. That's not. We have fruit, vegetables, like, stuff to.
Make chicken from Chef Mark.
We got meal prep. And she's like, I don't want that. And I'm like, okay, you don't want.
Greatness is what you're saying. What, you don't want greatness?
No, she doesn't want healthy stuff.
She's a teenager. What teenager wants healthy?
You know, I help these.
They can't hear you. It's here. Too far away. You're off the mic sound. So listen, I think it's amazing. One of the things I saw, there was a couple here at the gym in Cancun, and she was an overweight girl. You know, this girl's at least 120 pounds overweight, and her husband was kind of that lean, skinny, fat 6 foot 3 guy. He's got kind of that, like, that like, gut, but he's like super soft everywhere. And he's kind of tall and kind of crouched over. And it's got the little gut. She's kind of like just, you know, 120 pounds overweight. And you're looking at those calls in my mind's always like, I wonder what sex is like for those two years. Yeah. Because if you take two bellies that have kind of two guts, Right. You just put a distance between bodies, Right. You're lean, I'm lean. There's no distance. It's just vagina, penis.
That's what you're thinking.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
So.
But then when I see it, I'm like, belly, belly. And I'm like, like, bonk, bonk. Can't get there. Can't get there. Bonk, bonk, can't get there. So then that's what I think. But then what I'm thinking, I have another thought too. Here's the other side.
Really?
Yeah. The other thoughts, I'm inspired. This one's inspiring. The first one is just me being a dick in my head.
Okay.
The second one is inspiring. Michelle's like, good for you.
Yeah.
Because if you keep doing that, nothing in your life can lead to more power than physical transformation. I don't think there's anything even money.
I agree.
People who transform their physical bodies. If she drops £100 and he gets over and all that weight in his gut goes to his back, his shoulders and his chest back, those two. And there's couples who do this. And when she all of a sudden, that contrasting photo over four or five years, that's not one year. So that's four or five years.
Right.
We had some of our girls in our program with our hair. Came lose a hundred pounds in a year.
But they show up. They show up differently. Not necessarily how they look, but the work it took to get there.
World they see now changes.
Yeah.
Yeah. She divorced a shitty husband, lost £100, became a coach. Is crushing. The game is beautiful. Dating all these attractive dudes, et cetera. So like, people like, what's so amazing about it? Why do we respect it so much? Because you can't buy it.
Right. But even for you, it's like, I watched. I had gotten into bikini competitions after my third daughter. We have four daughters together. And I remember my nutritionist, he was like, why do you want to do this? I was like, I'm kind of an introverted hairstylist, and I just have my third daughter. And he scares the shit out of me. He's like, perfect. I was like, okay. And it did. It, like, mentally broke me. I think it made me a better speaker, a better trainer, have more certainty. I felt like it was almost like this different version of me that was always there kind of came out. It just kind of broke me a little bit. And so I was excited when you started doing it. And it's funny. Cause I'm like, you don't realize how much you've done till you look back at old photos. Like, I showed Garrett the picture, and here I am talking about, well, this is what's funny. You never looked bad. You never looked bad. But, like. Like, in your mind, you don't notice it, right? If you're not into fitness and you can fit into your clothes, you're like, yeah, I'm pretty healthy. I eat good. Whatever. Like, it's not. You're. You don't notice it.
I had great David August clothes covering up a very.
Here's the thing. I showed you this.
It was very lean, but I had a few moments of being quite soft.
You were a little soft. You went into surf mode for, like, a solid four years. And I don't think you saw even you. That you didn't even see yourself coming out except the girl who gains, like, a ton of weight over time. And then you look back, you're like, when did I get. When did I gain £100?
You know why that happened? Because you lean and shredded. I had, like, seasons where I was lean and shredded. Like, 185 pounds of lean and shredded. Like, seven pack. Because I can't do eight. I'm seven. There's not eight.
I'm laughing because the photo, when you're like, that guy's fun.
Oh, God. Yeah, he was. He was interesting. That picture of mine, I showed Garrett.
This photo from, like, four years ago in Cancun. Like, literally the same spot that we just went to. And you look high as balls, and you're, like, kind of skinny. And you're like, yeah. And you're like, I thought it awesome. Then I'm like, I didn't. I didn't know any different. I thought you also looked awesome. But now, compared to who you are now, I'm like, that's why it's fun to put it together. I'm like, who's this monster next to that guy?
I look at that guy now, and I'm like, oh, Man.
Well, you was up here like, oh, you're a giant pussy. And I didn't know. I didn't.
Is that guy fuckable? And it was me looking at myself. So listen, I'm more hard on myself than I am anybody else. Like, whatever you guys hear me say about other people, trust me, I am ten times harder on myself. Whatever I expect out of other people, I expect 10 times more out of myself. If I expect you to work the out, don't worry. I expect myself. I will beat your ass at working out. Whatever. Whatever I expect out of you, I'm already doing it 10 times more. I expect you to make money. I'm gonna make 10 times more. I expect you to be this way as a husband. I'm gonna do it 10 times more. No, I'm not doing to beat him. I just want to stand up for myself.
Yeah. As you say, for me, I'm not.
Trying to do it for anybody else. I'm not trying to compete with the ambassador.
Yeah, do the comparison gamer actually, like, keeps you from moving.v4. You only have to, like, compete with yourself. It's like I told you when we first got on the sport. I go, don't look at the pros. You're immediately.
I immediately looked all the pros.
You immediately, yeah, but that's what everybody does. And then you're immediately like, well, I can't do this. This is too hard. I'm not gonna do the cut.
It's intense. You start. Well, one of the guys at the.
Gym today, you gotta go for your own personal best.
Well, I inspired a whole bunch of. It's four different guys doing fitness competitions at Lifetime now. See, we're all dudes that were training. They're all built dudes. They look good.
But here's what's so cool. I remember even Dr. Daniel, he was like, oh, I'm not gonna.
That's number five.
He finds committed and he's been on the fence for so long. And you gave him permission. You weren't a pro. I'm not a pro either. But we're in our 40s and we have four kids and we run multiple businesses and we both put in the time and effort and got on stage and did well. And I think that is what's inspiring to people, is because it's like, hey, are you going to be a professional bodybuilder? No. So does that mean you can't try? You can't have goals, you can't have ambitions, you can't hold yourself to a higher standard of Just becoming the best version of you. And consider that going through that the person you become and the people you impact is really the name of the game.
I am a WWFB Pro.
I can't. I'm done. Thanks, guys, so much for joining us for our podcast. Hopefully, we delivered absolutely zero value.
Pro, fit, pro. That's what I am. I'm gonna make my own pro cards for people who get great transformation. I'm gonna ship them out, guys, get pictures.
I'm just gonna give you trophies.
Well, here's the deal. All the IFBB Pro guys I know, I ask him for real. I'm like, hey, bro, listen, they're retired ones. I'm like, hey, so, like, what did that. What did that get you? Like, where'd you get in life with that IFBB Pro card? Besides highly addicted to your physique, completely unconscious, feeling inadequate now for the rest of your life because you'll never be at the peak. Literally. These are conversations I'm having, like, eight or nine different guys that are connected to Carter, our coach. And I'm like. I was asking, like, seriously, like, what did it get you? Like, bro, I loved it. It was a beautiful season in my life. I was obsessed. I had no social life. I hung out with no one. I never went out to eat. I just. I just did my thing. And, yeah, I was poor pretty much the whole time.
Well, that's when it becomes like. Like how I was talking about, like, end of something that is fun in the beginning, then becomes an obsession, and then it's like, but why? So you always have to ask yourself the way.
So I didn't give a really about the cut. I was like. I was done. I was like, I want to be big. I just want to be big, big, big. That's it. I don't really. I mean, I, like, I think you're.
Stressed out with work and events, and you just didn't want to. You didn't want to be starving. That's hard when you're training and starving. You're. My teams make fun of me every time. They're like, don't worry, guys. She gets carbs in a couple weeks. I'm like, but I like. I like it. I feel high and kind of loopy. I kind of like it.
All right, so I'm gonna bring this up so to a close. It's not exactly a continuation from last week, so. So we apologize for that lie.
We were supposed to talk about, like, we were in Cancun, Father's Day and Garrett's birthday.
We still didn't even talk about that on here. So.
No.
