Well, my friends, welcome here to the date your wife podcast. The only podcast that my wife will not authorize, nor her teams to be emailed to her email list.
You don't email it to your email list.
I do. Found out from my teams it goes out every week, so I'm just putting it out there.
Okay, you do. They. It goes out every week. To which list?
To all of. All of my lists.
All of your list.
All of my lists.
How do you actually.
250,000 people the.
The views on, like, a podcast. Because they go out on, like, multiple platforms.
Well, you'd have to track each platform. Oh, like. And you can, like, see how many streams they had.
Yeah, I'm not in charge. I just. I just.
Or reviews.
Put it up.
Yeah, you. You put it up on your social media page, on your Instagram.
I'm the promoter. I don't know the logistics behind. I just do what they tell me. Yeah.
Who's they?
My team.
They. They. They.
Because I liked writing my own, like, the copy and stuff and putting it up on the new Danielle Ky blog.
Yeah.
And I didn't want it to sound like somebody else was writing my story, so I was like, hey, you guys, I'm. I can either send you the content or I can just do it. And I found it just easier to do it myself.
All right, all right, all right.
So what are we.
I'm spray tanned again.
You're spray tanned?
I just got spray tanned today for today's episode. Just for today's episode. I got spray tanned.
Why do you like the spray tan?
I just. I. Why do you like the spray tan?
I mean, I think all girls like to spray tan, but I find it fun that you like it now too.
What were you about to say? Gay?
No.
You find it gay that I like the spray tan.
I mean, I slowly got you to get Botox. You got veneers with me. You're shaving, you're trimming it, you're manscaping it. Like, you're really. You're. Well, you're entering what women always do. Like, I was, like, joking around about it.
I don't know if that's good. Hold on to what you just said right there. You, as a man, are entering what women always do. I think that right there just is down the path of, like, not working.
Really?
I don't know. It could be working.
No, There's a lot of guys, I feel like, that. That do it now.
But generally speaking, men want to be manscaped. Unless you're from, like, Birmingham, Alabama.
No, but I'm saying, like, you even took it.
You might not care.
You even took it a step forward when you started getting Botox with me and now spray tans and I got you to go get a pedicure with me.
I did get a petty here.
We look great. There's nothing.
The girl did the calf massage.
Yeah. You'll find, like, as you get older, you got to do all these things. You got to take care of yourself.
Well, I have been taking care of myself. Take care of myself in all kinds of different ways. And in the spirit of taking care of myself, here's a question for you. Why is it that most, quote, power couples cannot seem to stay together?
What is the definition of a power couple? Like, let's, let's be honest. Because it's like, you know, you'll see like somebody big on social media and they get married and now they're immediately, they're. They're immediately a power couple.
Yeah.
And you're like, really? How, how does your social media following dictate your power coupleness?
I think if you're a guy in your 40s or 50s and you marry a girl in your 20s after a divorce, and then you call yourself a power couple, immediately I think that you should slam your dick in a drawer.
Really?
Yeah. Not because you haven't earned the right because of your sex capades that you've now accomplished with a 28 year old that saved your dog.
What if they've been with the 28 year old for like a decade?
Then that means they're with them from the time they were 18 maybe. So they were 48 years old with an 18 year old.
Oh, that'd be weird.
Something about that's real wrong. I just, I mean, 58 with a 28 year old seems a little more doable than 48 with an 18 year old.
But. No, like, what if all the. No, like, what if they got together.
28 year old in here to date my daughter right now? I'd punch him in a fucking throat.
What if. No, what if he. What if she, she now is 38 and he's 68?
This happens. I have a client of mine who.
I'm just saying. But they. So are they not a power couple? What, what makes a power couple reps years?
Well, let's come back to why I said the comment. I said because it's really easy now. I'm watching this happen a lot. You have individuals who have been married, they get divorced after 20 some years, 25 years, then they Go out and they do the dating thing, and it's okay with it. I'm down with the dating thing. I get it. The guys go out particularly now because a lot of these guys were in sexless relationships. Do you know how they define sexless relationship?
You don't have sex.
Well, yeah, of course, that's obvious. But they define it as 10 times or less a year. Yeah. Which puts you at, like, one time every roughly five weeks.
Wow.
That is a sexless relationship. No, I mean, I don't know. Probably could be part of it. Or he's just traveling in his mind to other places because his wife rejects or like, what.
Yeah. Was like, what if he's, like, in the military or something crazy, you know?
Yeah. There's always an exception. That's like the abortion conversation where you're like, yeah, but what about the girl that gets raped by the crackhead at the party? And you're like, yeah, that does happen. One in, like, you know, 100,000 abortions. It's not like the. Like the actual.
So they get.
So anyways, they're in these sexual relationships, and these men are pursuing. These women have shut down, and the men have obviously not doing. They're not. They're not showing up in a way that's like, invoking her, creating any type of deep connection. But here's what I'm finding. Is it this conversation of sex? I don't think there's a conversation that's bigger in marriage. Maybe not talked about, but a conversation that has more impact on how the dynamic of the relationship plays out is this ability to connect sexually.
Right. So then back to the question. What makes a power couple?
Sex is part of it. So can you be a power couple and not be having sex? No, I think it's.
I think it's like history, though, too, to me. Like, the. The definition of a power couple would be like, it's like you're both equal roles. You know what I mean? Whether the woman's working or not, maybe she has her role inside the house with the family and whatever. But to me, I look at power couples like, you're both doing your part.
Yeah.
And growing simultaneously together.
You're both doing your part and growing simultaneously together, which involves sex. So, like, sex is part of this. Like, it's a topic that if you don't get it right, your relationship goes.
If you're having good sex, you're meeting a power couple.
This is just. Number one is part of the top five. I don't know if it's number One or number five. But sex is part of it. So another one that we have is what?
Communication.
Okay, so communication is part of the.
Independent, I would say history and the evolution we've, we've done on our own. Like, to me, like, when I, like, I'm not going to define anybody else as a power couple, but I feel like we are a powerful couple. And the reason I would say that is everything we've gone through, like individually and together and still kept our marriage alive and still genuinely care for each other and connected and love and have a family and multiple businesses. So for me, that's how I feel like a powerful couple. And I feel like we've gone through so much together, like, building our own brands, having kids together, even, like the functionality both of us have done, like extreme sports. Like, we've done so much that we've, we almost didn't stay married. I mean, there's just been so many things that I feel like make us a powerful couple. So when I see, and this is, don't, don't get me wrong, but when I see, you know, other people that have, like, built big shit, I'm like, great, but did you also have four kids? Did you lose everything and get it all back? Did you, like, I'm like, what defined what? You married a guy with a lot of money and now you're, you're a powerful couple. Like what?
Here's what definition says in the dictionary. Just looking this up. Dictionary.com A couple consisting of two people who are each influential or successful in their own right. Another one, two people who are married to each other or in relationship with each other. And both have extremely sex successful careers, especially in politics or entertainment.
That's the definition.
Yeah. How do you identify a power couple? Power couples have a shared vision for their relationship and their individual lives. They communicate openly about their dreams, aspirations and goals and actively support each other in achieving them. Their shared vision creates a sense of purpose and direction, driving them forward as a unified force.
There you go.
What is the criteria for a power couple? For starters, a power couple consists of partners who compliment each other's strengths and support each other's other's individuality while also thriving as a unit. For example, think about celebrities like Barack and Michelle Obama, Blake Lively and Ryan and Ryan Reynolds, Beyonce and Jay Z, Serena Williams and Alex Ohanan. What is it? In Urban Dictionary, a power couple is not defined as being rich, famous, sex or successful. The power couple definition from Urban Dictionary states, in a power couple, if one person is flawed, the other person makes up for their weaknesses and strengths together. They are the epitome of what anyone would desire in a relationship.
I would say that's pretty. I would say, like, we fall into a lot of those categories then, like, you have a lot of strengths that I don't have and vice versa. And I feel like, just even more so recently, like, we look at our relationship as moving together as a unit, but we've also built, like, our individuality inside of that.
Can you be a power couple and be in a sexless relationship?
I don't know. Probably not.
Well, what do you think? Yes or no?
Well, probably not. Like, if you're in a powerful relationship.
Probably yes.
If you're in a powerful relationship, wouldn't sex just be natural and frequent?
Um, no.
No.
Just because you have two powerful people together doesn't mean that a lot of couples are not having sex.
Well, and I was like, thinking about, like, yeah, if you're the President of the United States, like, you're pretty busy. Like, how often are you having sex?
I listen, I know being in the position, I am a wake up warrior. I know hundreds of powerful men who are married to powerful women, and sex is a constant issue.
Do they care? Do they feel like they can't have it all? That's my question. I think that some times people think, well, you know, I chose to be. I'm just throwing the President of the United States out there. But, like, it's like I chose to be the president, so I have to give up having. I have to give up having sex with my wife. But ultimately it's like, what do you. How can you make it? Where, how do you prioritize that? That's just a story, you know, everything, everything comes.
Everything comes having sex.
Well, I do know, I think that people, they have these stories. If, if I'm going to be powerful, if I'm going to do this, then I must sacrifice that. And everybody has this series of rules that they abide by. And the truth is, you can change those rules based on what you choose to prioritize.
You think Joe Biden's having sex?
I don't want to think about Joe Biden ever doing.
You think Joe and Jill Biden are having sex?
I just, you know, do you think.
Joe Biden is having sex with Jill while eating an ice cream cone?
I'm just wondering if he could put his PJs on and take his meds.
And go to sleep and they've got a teleprompter in his bedroom for him to speak Naughty to her. But he can't fucking read it correctly. So he's just like making shit up on the fly and smearing ice cream cones.
She's like, you know how I like it.
Oh my God, dude. It wouldn't be funny except for the fact that we were sitting here a couple days ago talking about how when your grandparents get to a certain age or your parents, it's time to put them in a home, give them a facility where they get care 24 7. And this is how I feel about our president, United States. I feel like you should be in home.
Well, elections are coming up, so maybe.
He, maybe he's in a sexless relationship.
Maybe, you know, maybe. But here's the thing that title you. I always think, people think like celebrities are always power couples. I'm like, because they're famous. And then like. Or you'll have like big name speakers that are like the power couple. And you're like. Because they're on stages together. And then like two weeks later they got divorced. And you're like, you guys, you guys were the power couple.
Yeah.
And now you're not. Doesn't seem so powerful to get divorced, you know. And I think a lot of them even probably stay in shitty marriages because they don't want to lose the identity of over the power couple. So they're like, I'd rather save face and not like have people know that I fucking hate my wife.
Well, this was like the couple that built the Passion Test. Have you heard of this? The Passion Test. The Passion Test is. It's like a, like a personality test. And the couple that created it, they were traveling and speaking together and training on the Passion Test. I can't remember their names now. I can look it on my phone real quick. But anyways, they had created it and then as business partners, they were co trainers and running this product out and this like the entire content conversation. And then they got divorced and they. She kept her last name and he kept running because for a business perspective, like it made sense for them keep running and training as a couple even though they were divorced. So you have like people who are like created this brand together.
Yeah.
And then getting divorced kind of didn't work.
Like breaking up where they're just partners and there's just no attraction there. Obviously if you're working together, like there's some level of financial. Well, it's, it's like a business deal, you know, you're getting divorced. Yeah.
I mean you can imagine if you have, if you had a lot of Money, an incredible amount of wealth, and you were sitting in a relationship that wasn't working so well. And a divorce meant splitting 50% of the assets with your wife.
Exactly.
You may just continue to be partners and be all right, even if she's like, you know, her tennis coach.
Yeah.
But then he's doing your thing and like, you're together just so you don't have to like, deal with financial ramifications.
Right. So then it's just at that point, it's not a marriage, it's a business relationship that has a marriage license tactic.
I think a lot of, I think a lot of relationships are down that path too.
I'm sure there is.
So you have relationships that are sitting in sexless relationships that are sitting in like kind of this ignoring partner role. And then you have like. The reason why I'm bringing all this up because like, or like we define what a power couple is based on the warriors way system. For me, it's really simple. What you're saying is, is that you have two people who are having it all in abundance across body, being balance and business at the same time. Time. And that this partnership of people can be together by want, not by need.
Right.
I want to be in this relationship. I don't have to be in this relationship.
And if you're tied through business, then you are.
Yeah.
You have to be in that relationship.
Yeah. I mean, if we, if we got divorced next week and we were done, could you provide for yourself?
Yeah.
Yeah. Would you probably even, Would you probably even produce at a higher level than you are right now?
Yeah.
Yeah. Probably 10x? Yeah. Would you date boys in their 20s?
Probably.
Yeah. You would? You for sure.
I would date who I had. Deep connection.
Yeah, you would. For 12 months you would just, you would just run.
We'd both be dating 28 year olds. It's fine.
I wouldn't. I don't think I could do it.
Really?
Yeah, I don't think you do it.
Only 48.
Yeah. But I don't think I could do it.
Okay.
I've seen some of my clients dating these girls in their 20s. I don't know if I could do it.
Is it because it's too close to your daughter's age? Yeah.
It feels like it's a daughter thing.
You say that.
No, I don't say that. It feels like it's a daughter thing.
So how come. Okay, so there's like these powerful men, like we know a lot of them and they, they want, they want this partner.
Yeah.
They want somebody to Run with them. Right. But ultimately you're like, okay, but then she's gonna bring a lot of heat. Do you, is that what you want?
No, they don't.
So then you're like, okay, so what is a power couple to you?
Well, literally I've had guys, I'm not going to say any names. There's some big names in the game right now.
That's it. They say they want the relationship and you're like, you don't want that. You want to be the dominant one and you want your beautiful wife and you don't that you're not going to run at the same speed. You always want to run faster and harder than she does. So like you might have the illusion that you want to be a powerful couple. You just want to be a powerful man with a hot wife and that's okay. Maybe just accept that about yourself.
That's probably why a lot of these guys get with younger girls.
Yeah.
Because the younger girls happy just being kind of, hey, I'm here, I'm just part of the game. And he gets do what he's doing.
And it's not to say he's not happy. He's like, I have a wife who hasn't been married. She's super hot and young. She has no baggage. I connect with her, we have great sex and I'm living on the last chapter with my hot ass wife. There's nothing wrong with that.
No, I mean my, my ex wife, her husband.
That doesn't make you a power couple that just now.
I mean my ex wife is married to, her husband's 26 years older than her, but they've been together for like 15 years something. 15, 20 years we've been together. I don't know, they've been around 20, probably 15 years. Yeah, but like, I mean there's an example. You got 25 year age gap between. We're seven years apart. Can you imagine me being at 25 years age gap? That means that I would be 60, I would be 60, I would Be 66 years old. And you're 41.
I don't think I could do it. I have this range that's like, I don't think I could do it.
What's your range? So you could drop 20 below but you couldn't drop go 20 above? Yeah, you said 28.
I'm not 48.
I know, but I'm 48. So you could drop 20 below.
I think I could go, I mean.
I couldn't go up 68.
41. I could go I could go 29.
29.
I think the oldest I'd go is like 56.
56.
That's probably the oldest.
So like eight years older.
Me.
Yeah. What if he was super fit?
He would have to be. I wouldn't. You think I'm going to go for.
Like marry a fat guy that's 60. No fat hairy guy.
But here's the thing. What if you find somebody, it's like your second, your third marriage and you have all these things together. So you're not a power couple. All right, guys, a little bit of an interrupt really quickly. If you are loving this podcast and you're sharing it with your friends, I would encourage you also to check out my education page. I don't know. This, like this, this sticky. This thing can kind of unravel into just like. How do you define a power couple for yourself?
But the only thing that I wanted to bring to attention is it's like, I think that there's these guys that have like very, you know, successful businesses or big social media followings. And so they put this pressure on themselves that they've got to have the, They've got to be the power couple. And you're like, okay, but is that what you want? And if that's truly what you want. No, she's going to challenge the out of you.
Yeah, she's gonna. Well, that was a conversation I had with a couple of them. Like, I, I would explain the dynamics of our relationship and here were the statements. They would say, your wife's hot as shit. Don't take this wrong. But I couldn't handle being in a relationship with a woman who's like cross checking me like that. I was like, I know me. Yeah.
Nobody really said that.
Yes, they did.
I don't cross check.
And you specifically know these people, One of which I was talking to a few nights ago? Yeah.
Really?
I brought it up. I was like, bro, you gotta stop worry. You gotta stop hanging out with these, these girls that are broken. You need to get you a powerful woman. And he's like, ah, man, I don't know if I can handle it. I was like, you might not be able to. I was like, because there's a certain level of heat you have to take as a man from a woman who has her own power, her own Money, her own certainty, her own connection, her own, like, capacity. There's a certain level of tolerance, yet at the same time, we're like intolerance. And at the same time, it's a weird dynamic because you have to submit this powerful woman. She wants to be submitted in a way, like by. By my masculine, alpha energy. You want me to submit you? Not in the way of, like, aggression and beating you. I'm saying, like, energetically and sexually. You want me to submit you. You want me to, like, be in charge, to, like, play it? Not all the time, but most of the time.
I think for me, at the same.
Time, you, like, cross check the shit out of me.
But I. Here's what I would say about. About myself is I feel like, yeah, I challenge and I might cross check, but I also, like, I love being feminine and I love feeling like I want you to be the man. Like, I want you. Like, as much as I might seem online, I feel like I'm actually like, super soft and feminine. So I'm. I'm kind of alpha. But I. I very much appreciate, like, the male and the female role. You know what I mean? So I feel like at some level, even though I'm powerful, I can still be submissive. I can still play the wife role. And I think that that's what really builds, even the attraction factor. And I would say that, that men that are like, oh, I want this powerful wife, like, she does. She's not. She's not the social media, like, boss babe. Like, that doesn't define a powerful woman is just because she's a boss. You have a lot of very feminine producing women that still want to have. Be the female. They want to be taken care of and not necessarily just all about the money, but they want to feel seen and heard and taken care of. So I think it's a. These men, maybe they just don't. They. They're like, scared to go for this, like, power producer because of this story or this narrative they have behind it.
It's not just a story, though. It's. A lot of these women have not learned how to drop into their feminine.
And I had to do that over the. Over the years. Like, when I first started my business, I think I was so resentful of you and our relationship, and so I kind of. It was almost like I stopped dating. Like, it's like you're doting, you're, like, flirty and dating. Then you get comfortable and I'm just like, why would I get ready? I'm just gonna, like, you know what I mean? You stop carrying shirts, stop taking care of yourself. You stopped dating. And even then, it's like when we had lost everything, I lost trust in you. I became resentful. So it was just like there was no attraction factor left. There was not. There was nothing feminine in what I was doing. I was trying to survive and build my brand and support my family. And in the process, I became kind of hardened, you know? And when our marriage started to take a turn, I was like, I don't want to be this. This, like, aggressor. I don't want to. To. To be so shut down. I want to be open and feminine and flirty. And I had to retrain myself to do that down to, like, the dumbest little things where, like, you walk in the door and I, like, tickle you or I grab you inappropriately or whatever it is, or, like, when you, like, come home, I make you dinner, and I'm like, hey, babe. And I keep it light and I keep it feminine. But I had to, after we lost everything, and I was just, like I said, hardened. I had to retrain myself to become the woman that I wanted to be, not necessarily for you.
Wow.
That's kind of what I started to do because I realized, like, you had always referred me as, like, oh, my wife's like. Like, when you talk about business and stuff, like, oh, my wife's like a. She's a hardcore closer and this and this. Which is great. And I'm so glad I became that woman so that I can continue to channel it into business. But I don't need to channel that. Her into the home. I don't need to channel her in necessarily within our relationship. So over the years, I. To keep our marriage alive, I have had to accept both versions of myself. And I believe that's why our relationship is still working, because I was willing to kind of soften and submit and retrain myself. Where I think a lot of people, there's so much. There's just so much hurt that they're unwilling to do that, and so they'd rather get divorced. And all of a sudden they're this new flirty, and the guy's like, dude, you're having sex all the time. You're flirting with him. I've never even seen this side of you. You're like a raging bitch to me. And it's because they're not willing to, like, cross the line and rebuild that it's hard.
It's hard decision. I mean, it's a very hard decision. I'm gonna look at how many times you and I have gotten to the line. Like, we get to the line all the time. I think the difference is, like, in the last, like, I don't know, probably. I don't know when it was for you, but last couple years for me, maybe, like, last three, four years, maybe after Isla was born, before I was born, where, like, divorce just kind of disappeared from my mind as, like, an option. Prior to that, when we get into heated fights or things get really spicy, I always felt like there was this piece of my mind that was like, there's another woman out there who would just treat me the way I want to be treated. And she would be amazing, and she would be like, the fulfilling woman. I'm in of my heart's desire, but yet, like, having that option out the back door in my brain, although I wasn't acting on it on my brain, it was, like, energy and power with you and I together. So, like, I wouldn't stay in the fight the same.
Well. And I felt that it was almost like it was like, as both of us started to have success, it's this question of, like, I don't need him. I don't need her.
Yeah.
And it. And it's true. And so then you're like, okay.
Do you remember thinking that we.
I'm sure we have. Yeah. As we both grow in power.
Yeah.
That's why power couples don't make it. It's almost like they become less tolerant of, like, I don't need you.
Yeah.
And there's such a more powerful place when you're like, actually, I do need you, and we're gonna do this together.
Well, not so. Okay, so now we're getting. Now we're getting somewhere with this power couple topic. So if we take power couple as two individuals who have created the habit all lifestyle in their lives, they are in abundance individually without the other. Meaning. You take care of your body, I take care of my body. You take care of your spirituality. I take care of my spirituality. You take care of. You are all in as a mom, I'm all in. As a dad, you and I, you are all in on your business. I'm all in on my business. So, like, if you look at our lives and you laid it down like chips on the table, you're like, you know, here's the cards on the table. Hey, we're both pursuing having it all individually.
Right.
But obviously, at balance is where we cross connect, and this is where we start to meet each other in the middle and everything else gets experienced underneath that frame of connection and balance. So maybe power couple itself is like this pursuit. It's like you being willing to push your entire life to the edge. Me being willing to push my entire life to the edge and knowing that we don't need each other, but we still choose each other.
Right.
I, I, this is it. This is the power couples definition.
That's our, it's our definition.
That's our definition is two individuals who are both having it all independently, but that can choose and choose to run interdependently.
Well, I think too, yeah, you can't be so dependent on your partner. Like, you can be a unit and you can be like a we, but ultimately it's like, like, even when you were doing your fitness, I was like, I don't want you to do it for me. Like, you want to do it for you. Great. And then like, same for, like, when I've done certain things inside of my business, or like one year I ran a marathon and it was like, no, I want to do this for me. Or like, recent, like, I'm getting ready to write a book. And it was like, it wasn't something because you told me I should write a book. It wasn't something because I wanted to have it on my Instagram handle that I written a book. I just felt like it was something I wanted to do for me.
Right.
So when you can recognize that you, we see this all the time and we coach couples inside of Warrior all the time, and you see the pain in these couples eyes and who, whether it's the wife or the husband, and they're like, how do I get him to change? How do I get her to change? I go, you change you? Yeah, you can't change her. She's going to either have to choose in or choose out. You're going to either grow together, you're going to grow apart. And at some point, I know that's like painful, but, like, if you try to change her, all you're going to do is be resentful of her that she's not moving at your speed.
Yep.
And that's not fair to her.
Yep.
So it's like, it's like hard because they're like, what should I do? And I'm like, the biggest thing you can do is allow her space. The biggest thing you can do is keep, continue to work on yourself. And don't, you know, come at her as like, well, if you were reading these books, well, if you were coming to these events with me, well, if you don't start, don't be resentful on her and see if she chooses in. Maybe she's like, hey, I've noticed, like, you're changing. We're going on dates this and that, like, implement these little things that will encourage her to ask questions about the positive stuff she sees in you. And that's the way to get her to nudge her along. And honestly, you have to be patient. There's been so many times, like, we're in a good flow now, but even then, I think that the individuals are going to rise and grow at different experiences, especially if you have an age gap, like, we're seven years apart. Like, what I'm experiencing now might be different than what you're experiencing now. So there's these times in life too that you have to kind of be like, okay, yeah, my. My wife's 15 years younger than me, so I can allow a little bit of grace that she doesn't actually, like, she doesn't understand the pressure I'm feeling with business, but I'm not going to, like, hold that against her. Or, you know, like, I think it's just timing. And if you see them growing, they don't have to exactly grow at like, the same rate you are. It's almost just like, I want to see that you're moving forward and not digressing.
Yeah, well, I feel like we're both doing that. I think this is like the power couple definition. We just continue to out it. We just continue to endure. I mean, you put yourself out there publicly, I put myself out there publicly. We both put ourselves out there physically, we both put ourselves out there spiritually. We both put ourselves out there as a couple. We put our lives on display constantly. Very easy for people to have opinions because we're sharing it all. And the biggest opinions that are persecuting of our lives and who we are are always from people with private profiles that have no fucking risk in the game at all. They're just like people with an opinion. On the flip side of this, we both have businesses and brands that we're pushing, and so maybe we're. Maybe we're setting a new precedence for what power couple means.
Well, that's what I. That would I say. I think that word's been just thrown around ever so lightly. And it was just like, literally, if you were. If you had a big social media following or if you're a successful man or you're a celebrity or sports or whatever, and you have a beautiful wife, then by definition you are A power couple. And you're like, that. That just is maybe a beautiful couple. I don't know if it's a powerful couple. So it's like, you know, you just have to be realistic with what you want inside your relationship. And honestly, like, I would say, like, the guys that are, like, scared to pursue that is an insecurity in themselves. You can. You can create this. It doesn't mean that you. You're, like, gonna have to, like. I mean, a relationship is submission to every level for the guy and the girl. That's what makes it powerful. Like, I do things for you that I don't really care about, and you do things you don't really care about, you know, So I don't think that makes us any less powerful. If anything, it shows that we care. It makes us more powerful. So it's like, I think. I don't know. I think that. I think it would be hard. Like, I look at. I think about us and if we didn't stay married, and I'm like, okay, like, what would I tolerate in a relationship, you know? Like, would I. Would I want the guy to push back when I'm like, I don't need this. I make tons of money. I want to fight with you. I'm a producing woman. I'm beautiful. Like, I don't. Maybe that's why I can understand why men typically might go for the younger girl, because they maybe go for somebody their same age and they're like, I don't need. Like, she's got baggage. I don't want to. You know, I don't want to be in this. I don't want to be in this fight. Like, as a producing woman, I don't know what I. If I might be the same way. I might be, like, I'm not going to tolerate this arguing. I don't need this shit. I can go make money and get another hot guy. So it would be really hard to recreate this power couple, like, on your second and third marriage.
It would be tough. I'm sure it's possible, but it would be tough. There's a lot of, like, being able to make the push across that threshold requires a commitment and a vision to something bigger. Like, when do you feel like our vision was big enough for you to say, okay, I'm all in?
I feel like it was. It's like there's no, like, one specific moment, I think, when I felt like out of the back of the both of our minds that we're just like, okay, we're gonna Fight. We're even. Might even have a really explosive fight, but, like, we're gonna stay in the fight.
And when do you think that started?
I think, like, last year was like, almost like a closing to a chapter. And this year has, like, been. Or not. Not this year. Like, the last year or so has been like an opening to a new chapter. It's like. It's like, okay, we finally. I mean, I know we've been married forever, but it was like all of a sudden, it's like there was a different level of commitment. And for me, I found that exciting because I'm like, oh, we're entering the next chapter. And I'm so excited for what doors and opportunities are going to open up because we're now like this. This unit, right. And I always tell people, I'm like, two is always going to be more powerful than one. So if you truly want, you know, that power relationship, that power couple, it's not done alone. It's done with a partner. So I feel like, yeah, this next year is going to. Because it's. We're. We're now at this level together. I believe that more doors and Doors and opportunities will open, not as a couple, but even individually, because we. We just.
We're.
We're just like, in a very powerful space.
I'm already watching it happen. Like, there's all. There's all kinds of things that you and I have been able to and willing to create and that are coming available now that could have never happened without each other, but it's the. With each other that has actually opened the door for the individual. It's like there's things that are brewing now in business and in life that not being. I mean, putting us together as a couple. And as much as we push and as intense as we are and as much as we've created, this is like a different standard. I'm not saying we're the top of the game saying there's couples, I'm sure, that have, like, moved past us and have done something bigger in their lives. When it comes to having it all, I don't know any.
I just think that.
Well, I think personally, I mean, I don't know anything. I think I feel standard across all four domains. Like, we do.
Yeah. Body, being, balance and business. Yeah. I feel like we're rare. There's, like, powerful couples. And then I'm like. But we're hitting, like, all those areas, and we're doing it together. So I think that's. That's like the new kind of Standard.
Well, and there's like guys who have been, gotten remarried and they have amazing relationships with women they're remarried to, but she's young, they have no kids, they've raised no children. I'm like, dude, we have five fucking kids. I'm like, it's like. Or individuals who've been together for two years and are like, oh my God, I love her and she's the best. I'm like, bro, number one. I appreciate that. It's amazing. I was like, and you got no history. You didn't have to go through the hardship. You are now hanging out with her at the peak of your game when you made all the money, you didn't make it through the woman you're with on the rise. You fucking lost her.
It's both people. It's like, because like I said, like, you can only want to pull somebody along for so long where you're like, I'm going here.
Yeah.
You know, and I think it's, it's probably hard too if like the woman's trying to like not take away the masculinity. So she's like, I'm gonna be like the stay at home wife. And that's fine. I very much like consider myself a stay at home wife. But I, I feel more powerful with you because of like the experiences I've had in life, even growing my business. And I've shared this on multiple podcasts. I was like when we first got married and like when I, when I went to college and people were like, what do you want to do? I'm like, I want to be a mom. Like, that was like the biggest thing I wanted to do. And life works in such a creative ways to really help individual have the opportunity become the best version of themselves. So I, I think it would be tough, right? I think it would be tough to kind of like to make it through when you have this uber successful man and like not have the woman have some kind of, her own kind of success, no matter what it is, some kind of purpose, some kind of success so that it becomes more about like the mom and just raising the kids. And that's, that's just what I have found for myself. So that's what I can speak. Truth for me is that I love being a mom, but I would not be the woman I am today if I hadn't gone through what I did and that and even staying married, doing.
So if you're a stay at home mother, you absolutely can experience this experience and feeling it's not about economic Production. But what it is about is having a purpose outside of your husband and children.
For sure.
Like, having something you're responsible for, that you're passionate about, that requires work, requires energy, requires effort.
I agree with that.
And that then allows for respect for the producing husband to be able to be understood or respected. I mean, you used to have opinions about me, like, constantly with work, you're like, why are you doing this? Why are you doing this? Why aren't you home? And da, da, da, da. And then you built your brand, and all of a sudden you were gone, and you started doing some of the same habits and patterns I was doing. And I was like, now you get it. And you're like, yeah, I do get it. I'm sorry.
It would be hard for, like, if, say, like, even now, like, if I didn't want to work, I wouldn't have to. I could probably, like, sell my companies and be like, whatever. But I. I like having purpose, you know? Although I, like, rely on you to kind of take care of the family and produce, I realize, like, this is. This is part of my purpose. What I've created is part of my purpose.
Yeah.
So I. Yeah, I. I don't think I. I don't think I would be content just, you know, shopping and do. I do love shopping, but I wouldn't be content if I didn't have a purpose, regardless if it made a ton of money or not. And like I said, if it'd be hard. If you're married to a producing guy, you're like, I don't have to actually go into work today. No, you have to actually have purpose in your life to be happy and grow together.
So otherwise you become a miserable human being.
You just. You're. You're. You realize. I know. I know several women. I'm like, you realize that money isn't what you wanted.
Yeah.
And security isn't necessarily enough anymore.
Wow. I think we've defined power couple at a certain level. And you met with your writing team. We'll wrap the show up with this topic.
Yeah, I'm starting a book. I committed. I don't. I like to think it's funny because, like, people are, like, really, really committed. And I'm like, yeah, you don't understand. I obsess over things for, like, two, three years. Like, when you think about. So when I finally commit, I've already, like. The obsession is really weighing me down so much. I just gotta do it.
Yeah.
I was like that forever with, like, bikini competitions. I finally. I've been like, Wanting to write a book, like, since forever, but I don't. I also think it's all, it's all about timing too. Like, now I have a clear idea of why and what I want to write about. Um, I. And like I said, I don't want to just do it. Be like, oh, I got a number one best selling book or what, like, I don't care. Like, I want this, this book to help me discover a lot about me, number one. Um, but also if it helps others along the way, then that's amazing too. So.
So this team, where you go, you go time.
So I felt really. I've been interviewing a bunch of teams to help me write it and I. This team. But what they're going to do is they're going to find like three or four different writers that I'm going to interview and like, see if I, like, if I vibe with them. And then if I vibe with them, like, I want somebody who, like, hears my story and they're excited to help me write it. Like, that's what I'm looking for. Because I know that that's when the magic will happen and that's when I. It'll still sound like my voice, but it will be done by a professional that knows how readers consume things.
Yeah.
So I'm excited.
So you have a. You have a title for the book, at least a running title.
Right now I kind of have a title. I was going to call it the Big Money Stylist because that's the name of my podcast. And that. That was just. I started as a hairstylist and now I always say, like, I'm a hairstylist by trade. But I. There's been so many pivots in my life where I just felt like it was a series of saying yes, and then opportunities open. And then we were sitting at a pool in Vegas and I was like, God, in a way, I feel like, God, God's been my ghostwriter. He has. He's been my ghostwriter in life. And then we both like, sat there and we're like, that's the title, you know, so we're playing around with it, but I just, yeah, I want to share my journey. And I realized, like, I think that retelling my story will give me just an appreciation of who we are and what we've built. But also, I know I'll learn a lot in the process. So I'm kind of. It's like one of those things that's gonna be hard and you're like, fuck, sign me up sounds great.
Well, we have the domain GodIsMyGhostWriter.com and I think it's an amazing working title. I think it's true in the sense that everything that you have created with me over the last 23 years has been led by this inspiring vision inside. Sometimes we've been in the darkness, sometimes you've been in the pit. Sometimes it's been complete shit and it's been horrible and other times it's been amazing. And it's not perfect along the way and it's never going to be perfect for anybody. But I'm excited for you to have this book and I'm not even part of the project. I'm this like your husband getting to be your cheerleader.
I think that's why I'm excited too, because I was like, you've written several books and I was like, oh, I'm gonna. You were like, I'll help you frame it out, I'll help you. And I was like, no, I. I'm just gonna do it on my own.
I love it. All right, well, you wanna give us any final thoughts? We wrap up today's show.
